Staff are knowledgeable about the place and generally helpful. Low choice of television programs.
Breakfast not provided and is expensive if it is to be purchased separately.
Great location, next to metro and eatery places. Walking distance to several tourist spots.
There was no A/C in the room
The breakfast at this price is a robery Very Bad
Was charged two times and now settling this with my bank
-Location... 100 steps to the tube. A short walk to People' s Square, Xintiandi... Super convenient. In the heart of town, yet quiet. -Amazing staff and cleanliness. -Renovated rooms in a historical building. - lots to eat and shop around you. - the staff helped book reliable transfers to the airport at no charge... Taxi metered fare...punctual and courteous. - the room is spacious and the bathroom is big ... Shower cum tub.
Like most hotels in Shanghai, they have no air conditioning in winter. So the room was stuffy when we returned. However we solved the problem quickly by opening the windows for at least an hour when we return. - an area below the sink had mold on it... Probably not noticed by the cleaner. - bathrooms though clean could do with a little touch up to modernize it...
Location is excellent - subway line 8 just round the corner. Can get around shanghai easily, be it for business or leisure. Spacious room, clean & comfy. Service standards usually quite good except on 1 occasion.
Breakfast is bad. Short staircase at entrance to hotel a little inconvenient when moving in & out with luggages. Hotel lobby located on 2nd floor. New hotel name kind of long.
Close to metro and walking distance otherwise.
Poor cleaning. Mosquito living in the ac, if you turn it on they will be all over the room. They had a smorgasbord of me each night, before I found out where they were living the 9:th night!
Good in general
Very small room, even superior room are very small.
We travelled mid November 2014- the room was cold and room temperature was not adjustable (broken)... I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and on the first night they told me that they couldnt do anything, on the 4th night I figured that they had heaters(portable) and when I asked for one, I was told that they'd run out of it... The front desk staff not helpful at all- don't speak english well. I liked the location of the hotel but I would recommend a hotel nearby People's square station though it's only one station away from Marvel. Maybe a hotel on Nanjing Rd. Also wifi to much hassel, everytime you have to login with ur passport number. Check in may take a really long time based on staff. P.s they dont exchange money at this hotel, only accept Yuan(RMB) or credit card but there's a bank next door.
good location, helpful staff
The hotel is very comfortable and clean. Located in the central commercial area with many choices of restaurants and shops. Few meters away subway.
I was traveling with a group of 4 ppl as family without child. We'r very happy with this hotel. If you didn't looking for 5 starts hotel and want to see travel around Shanghai with convenience & reasonable price I highly recommend this place. location - very close to metro station ,just one station from People Square or 10 - 15 mins walk / best place for Hotpot and restaurants breakfast lunch and dinner by local ppl Hotel room - Superior Deluxe it's big enough for 2 ppl with all you need in living. I love their comfy pillow & bed after a long day of traveling this is good. Hotel restaurant - My room wasn't include breakfast no comment on this as i mention, you can find many local restaurant just to corner ans McDonald , Startbuck also MarkSpencer Cafe. Wifi - There are free access for WIFI in all area but keep in mind that you couldn't open facebook & youtube in China. It isn't fast wifi but not that bad Staff - They can speak english and willing to help if you have any question. Tip - Ask for room on the back side of building if you want the quiet stay but you will not see the view of the partk. - There are nice crispy fried pork at the local market back to the hotel, you will notice this shop by orange color and long quite, worth to try !!!
Air condition - You couldn't change the temperature as they set it at 23' in Nov. I was opened my window at night which make my sleep more comfortable but it'wasn't the big deal for me.
great location for walking to everything in Shanghai. Laundry room where we did all our washing for 40 yuan in big machines and ironed it in our room using iron and board provided. Perfect when you are travelling china with a small suitcase. great bakery round the corner and a tesco express!
spacious, quiet, next door to subway. Central location, easy subway ride to anywhere. Walking distance to People's Square, Shanghai Museum, Nanjing pedestrian road.
bring your own book reading light Hotel is not new but the value outweighs a bit of wear.
-Location -Has laundry facilities -Reservation and price were as Booking.com "contract"
-Food was OK, not great -No concierge help
We were able to,walk to The Bund, the Yu Garden and to the tourist tunnel. There's a subway station right around the corner. the food at breakfast was good. The restaurant served good food.
We enjoyed our stay.
old carpets in the diningroom
Very good hotel with standard matching Western-style hotels. Good cost/quality relationship. A metro line is just at the door step.
The location The bed is good
Horrible service Not friendly people Took 2 hours to check in and 2 hours to check out Waitress are rude at the restaurant Food is bad ! Very bad hotel
Spacious room and spacious bathroom. And the staff helped me to add Wechat to a mobile phone I bought in Shanghai. .
The room did not include a rack or shelf on which I could place my suitcase (instead of on the floor) ... but then again I never got around to asking if they could supply one of those folding racks for my suitcase.
Great, really GREAT location, at short walking distance from People Square, pedestrian shopping mall, local food street. Old style building with all modern facilities. Great room (8th floor). However I got complementary room upgrade so cannot judge my "official" room. I chose "smoking" room so cannot judge "non smoking" rooms. Didn't have breakfast or any other meal so cannot judge
Check-in / check-out might take a bit long if other people in the queue.
rooms dirty, breakfast not included (but advertised as included on booking), poor facilities (like the gym that is actually a couple of treadmills)
Poor Staff surely due at the bad management Breakfast bad. Really poor staff, no organisation no cafe at 8 pm (please wait is not ready...) at this price!!!!
Extremely helpful front desk staff. English speaking. The hotel has a self-service washer and dryer (20 yuan each) soap provided by hotel, as well as hotel laundry service. This was great after 3 weeks of traveling in China. Rooms were quiet and very clean. Nice amenities. Excellent staff. Air conditioning was very strong. Beds comfortable. Hotel location was exceptional with a metro around the corner. A great value with a fab location and great, helpful, friendly front desk staff.
Weak wi-fi. We had poor service in the restaurant at lunch. We were seated second as lunch began. We waited over a half hour for our first dish, while the place filled up. Other diners received all of their food at once. We got one dish at a time. One incorrect dish & one we never received. It took us 25 minutes to get a cup of tea. The errors and billing were corrected by the front desk who gave us their apologies. (We were happy to pay for the food we received, but not for missing food and an incorrect dish.) The dining room staff had no clue as to why we were treated so poorly. (We repeatedly asked about our food as food laden trays passed us by going to people who sat down only a few minutes before.) However, this would not prevent me from staying there again. The hotel staff was superb and there are many fabulous restaurants in Shanghai.
