Ideally located just over half a mile from the famous 700-year-old Wangfujing Street, the Prime Hotel features 5 dining options, an indoor pool and free parking.
Score from 823 reviews Very good
In a central location in Beijing’s business district, the pentahotel Beijing is a 2-minute walk from the 2 subway lines at Chongwenmen Metro Station. It features an indoor pool and business center.
Score from 894 reviews Very good
Modern luxury can be enjoyed at Park Plaza Wangfujing Beijing, within 1.5 miles of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. It is only steps from Dengshikou subway station (line 5).
Score from 740 reviews Excellent
Inner Mongolia Hotel is a quarter mile from Beijing Train Station and less than 2 miles from the famous Tiananmen Square.
Score from 655 reviews Very good
Room was nice and big, great service.
Towels are old and not white any more. Better lighting in the bathroom would be nice.
The location is really good. 15 minutes walk from the forbidden city or 5 minutes from Dengshikou Subway station. Hotel is clean and looked after, the gym and swimming pool are a nice addition, and the selection at breakfast is huge.
We asked for non smoking rooms. There are a couple of floors designated non smoking. As soon as you step out of the lift however, the corridor smells quite strongly of smoke. Then once in the room, despite the non smoking signs it again had a smokey aroma.
Breakfast buffet, location, staff
Freezing cold pool, smelly bathroom, room size for price
price, location, focus on what is really necessary and useful
getting a taxi can be a problem, but that has (still) more to do with the attitude of Beijing taxi drivers than with the hotel.
Breakfast buffet. Happy hour.
Bathroom a bit tired looking.
Perfect setting for a top end mid range hotel close to the heart of Beijing.
Nothing. The staff and service was excellent.
Good location and tasty breakfast
Very hard bed, even after I asked a different matress it was still very hard.
Smoking smell in the room
very good location. near tianmen, forbidden palace, main street with a lot of shops. real central of city. Very good breakfast mmm mniami.
Location and general things one expects from a hotel
Pool a bit cold and changing area bit unclean.
The stand twin room that I booked was located in an old building which was not mentioned in the booking page. In order to get to the room, I had to transferred lifts with a few stairs which was not convenient at all with luggage and bags. The room was much smaller with old interior compared to the pictures on the website. I required to be moved to the main building which had direct access via the lift but the receptionist asked for £40 for the 'upgrade'. I would suggest that Novotel describe the inconvenience for the rooms that are located in the old wing building truthfully and put up pictures that reflect the real situation of the rooms on their website and all the booking websites to save all the hassles.
Location was excellent to metro as well as tourist attractions. We were very pleased with the breakfast selection as well with the cleanliness and size of room.
We stayed twice during our time in Beijing and were disappointed with front desk management during our first stay (1 night--July 11, 2014). We felt he was less than helpful. Fortunately, when we returned for our 2nd stay (July 15-17), he was not on duty, and we had the experience of interacting with excellent front desk managment
Staff was really helpfull everytime we need it, and i got lucky with a better room. location is 3 minutes walking from wangfufing street breakfast is OK, not great but overall good enough. Really enjoyed the stay, good price/quality and would definitely recommend
The staff were quite friendly despite a basic or poor knowledge of English. The location of the hotel was very good with close proximity to Wangfujing and other nearby tourist spots.
Very limited choice of dishes for a vegetarian. Also, staff were quite unaware of the term 'vegetarian' and we had a friend to write the term in Mandarin to enable an understanding. The subway is fair bit of distance from the hotel. We had booked a package that included breakfast for 2 rooms for 3 nights and since we decided to stay for an extra night, breakfast was charged at a whopping fee for Yuan 130/- per head which we thought was a bit too steep.
The hotel was in an excellent location accessible both from metro and taxi, breakfast was incredible and staff very friendly and helpful! Definetely reccomended value for money in a city like Beijing
I didn't like the city first time there very dodgy people just be aware of taxis and people coming to you on the street
Great hotel - recommend for families/business. Great location, facilities and food
We are a family and at time of booking requested 2 rooms next to each other and was told that this was not possible and rooms would be on separate floors. On arrival there was a 'promotion' which allowed us to have rooms together at a special price of £40. Not what I expect from Novotel and I feel scammed as it cannot be an extraordinary request.
Good Location.. Perfect continental Breakfast !
A/C was not strong enough in the room..
Fantastic location and price/value is ok
Staff unfriendly/airconditioning not working well/bathrooms need to be renovated
Spacious rooms, excellent WiFi, great breakfast.
No hooks or towel rails in bathroom.
The hotel was in an excellent location. It is about a 8 minute walk to the nearest subway which is when standing with your back to the entrance of Novotel turn left, take the next left and cross one street and then on the next block is the entrance for the subway. After entering the subway it is still a little walk to the station to obtain your one way train ticket for 2 yuan single journey. The hotel breakfast was included in our deal and it was a full on buffet comprising of bacon, eggs sausages fruit breads, cakes n other hot dishes. Eggs cam in a variety of ways from fresh omelettes to boiled, fried and in my case every morning I had two poached eggs which were cooked at the time of my ordering them. The room was big a king size bed lots of space good TV some 4 English channels, bathroom was adequate, towels were "old " and should be upgraded. The air con worked but was not overly cool even though had it n its coldest and the fridge was a bar fridge, filled with drinks which we removed and stored our own goodies and drinks in thee but the fridge was not that cold either. Nothing went but after being out in the smog t crowds and 35 plus cel. temperatures it would have been nice to have had an iced cold drink not just a cold drink. The Hotel has a pool and gym equipment not massive mounts but good for a daily workout, the pool is good not a swimming pool for laps but to take a dip and cool down. Staff were very friendly indeed check in and out was painless, effortless and took around 2 minutes having booked through booking.com things to see nd do we feel you are better having the hotel concierge fellas book a private car to take you to the wall, we did this and was 600 yuan as compared to a buss trip and many others with a cost of round 900 yuan, when we got to the entrance we had to pay for the cable car etc but overall same price but the comfort of our own car and own driver who waited till we were ready to come back.
The towels could be upgraded and the air conditioning/coolness of fridge could be better. Having said that and in fairness to Novotel I did not complain about any of these matters and had I done so who knows what they may have done. so the fact I did not complain means that they were not overly serious but they would have enhanced our sstay,
I thought the night duty manager was rude upon my arrival at such a late hour. The porters in the foyer were of no help when I had differculty locating my room .i did not expect to be called " oi" by staff. The reception staff placed a call to my room at 10.43 pm ,when at that time the prudent thing to do would be to take a message and place it under my door. The waiting staff in the restaurant showed no urgency to clear tables when the number of guests were high. The quality of the room was poor with the beds more in the shape of a hammock than a mattress. Room 2316.
The breakfast and the pool were ordinary but welcome.
I found the booking system was inflexible. I had to pay an extra night when I was not actually sleeping there. I tried to change the booking two weeks in advance of my arrival but I was not allowed to do this.the staff were somewhat surly and in fact rude when i asked the them to get me a taxi. On arrival the reception staff speak very little English. This was the same throughout the hotel. I did not like tha area that the hotel was located as it was not nearpublic transport and I had several strange experiences in the neighbourhood. I had stayed previously in courtyard hotelsin hutongs and found the experience completely the opposite, it was safe friendly, everyone spoke English it was really clean and the beds were comfortable. This hotel claimed to have great interest in the comfort of its guests but it was just lipservice because the beds were very hard. I also had to walk from reception to my room via two lifts, with a long corridor and a staircase in between with luggage this is not acceptable. At breakfast i got up to get a cup of tea and my breakfast was removed not once but twice!
location and simple layout
very stiff staff attitude
Wi Fi very bad.
location was great, concierge Jack was most helpful on all things and gave additional guidance on our personal safety as we were female travellers
had manicure and pedicure at beauty parlor; was average
