In a central location in Beijing’s business district, the pentahotel Beijing is a 2-minute walk from the 2 subway lines at Chongwenmen Metro Station. It features an indoor pool and business center.
Score from 967 reviews Very good

Score from 953 reviews Very good

Inner Mongolia Hotel is a quarter mile from Beijing Train Station and less than 2 miles from the famous Tiananmen Square.
Score from 697 reviews Very good
good access to public transportation, subway and bus stop right in front of the hotel. Room is clean.
Not all staff speak english very well. Sometime you can hear noise from the other room or from corridor
Nice hotel, clean, staff were great, very helpful, good location
Location is good, this is really what your paying for. Buffet is ok quality but it is cheap for what you get.
The room and hotel needs a rejuvenation. I would rate it as a high 3 star not 4 star
Excellent location. Value for money.
Very good location for traveler. Just 10 minute walk to get to Tian An Men Square and Forbidden City. Good place to spend a couple day and travel by walking to the highlights of city.
Very hard to find taxi in front of the hotel. I was unlucky that there was no doorman to help. Anyhow in general the hotel staff are quite good and helpful.
Excellent location, so close to subway, which made my local travel so easy!
Quality of wi-fi in rooms were really poor, or non existent. Breakfast was too expensive (It wasn't worth the money). Room rate and breakfast rate was more than that was quoted in my booking. Common bathrooms in the lobby was rather unclean and smelly. After a long nights travel when i checked in at 7.30 am I was asked to come back at 2pm and wasn't given a room even to fresh up. Even in small hotels I have stayed before, they were so kind to give me a temporary room to fresh up (just for 30 minutes probably) and then later the actual room assigned to me. The reason told to me was that all rooms were full, which is a kind of lame excuse and hard to believe for me(in such a big hotel on a normal working day). I would reconsider some other hotel if coming after a long night's trip next time.
Not a lot as expected more from a Novatel Hotel
Hotel is old and tired. Needs a refit
Great location; Located across a train station and with lots of shopping malls nearby.
Location Good wi-fi Good service from helpful staff
Shabby decor- carpet sticky, smells.
Modern rooms and fresh feel of hotel. Immensely polite and helpful staff...made the stay a pleasure
Washrooms could be better designed
Ok premier inn standard. Not a 4 star as advertised
Room being cleaned as we arrived
Very good concierge and tour desk staff who were very helpful.
Utopia restaurant who specialize in Peking Duck were apathetic and provided poor service!! Why wasn't our Peking Duck sliced in front of us; other clients had theirs sliced in front of them! Hot vegetable plate was served 15 minutes before the arrival of the plated (not sliced before us, the clients) Peking Duck, and therefore was cold! After completing dinner, the serving food plates were removed, but not our dinner plates nor utensils. No other service was provided despite the restaurant not being busy. Dessert fruit was given to another table who ordered the same dish, but none was served to us. The bill for the meal was not presented to us after completing dinner, I had to go to the cash to request it. In summary, why such a high amount of money charged for a staff who didn't care for us at anytime and showed serious and blatant disregard. Fifteen (15%) gratuity would automatically be included in the bill (as per the menu); that being said, service should be timely, professional, and caring. The service was none of these, and regrettable as we were celebrating our wedding engagement that night; this ruined our special day!!! I am requesting a meal reimbursement of 100%, and a written apology.
Location, price, and a tour booth downstairs where one can book a personal driver for the Great Wall and other tourist sites.
They didn't have an ATM where I could withdraw cash.
Everything about this hotel is value for money. Room/Breakfast etc etc.
Location, in front of a subway, wifi connection everywhere, restaurant 24h
Bad English, poor turism information, I tried to take a shower before I left to airport after check out I they requested me to pay another day. So I didn't.
Food tooo expensive on the western restaurant
The hotel was within walking distance of Tianeman Square, The Forbidden City, Wangfujing Street, Quinmen Street, The Temple of Heaven and Honquai Market, and various other sites. The motorbike cabs were brilliant for travelling about and very cheap. The Citrus Restaurant in the hotel was excellent, The A la Carte menu was good and also the buffet was good with plenty of choices.
Very convenient location Good facilities Clean
Old building, decoration, old and used rugs. Needs some new paintings. Missing air ventilation.
Upon check-in staff was very helpful and offered us a rebate for staying on the Premier floor, we paid 40% less than we would have paid for our hotel breakfasts every day for all the perks of the floor (private breakfast, complimentary refreshments, daily happy hour in the evening and 2 pieces of laundry). The tour booked at the hotel tour desk was excellent and a highlight of our trip.
Rooms looked a bit dated but were still charming (except for the TV which is on the small side and doesn't have great resolution). We ran into an uncomfortable situation with a rickshaw driver who tried to rip us off by doubling the price upon arrival at the hotel, that was the low point of our stay as the front desk staff who we called on to help chose to mediate rather than fend off the con artist who was getting abusive. If there's anything the hotel should work on, besides improving the alright but not adequate English standard of their staff overall, they should improve their understanding of the expectations of international tourists so that whenever any of the unpleasant situations typical of China these days befall their guests, they can have their backs.
Located very closed to Subway. And 15 min walk to famous shopping area called Wan-Fu-Jiang. And also not very far to Forbidden city and People Square. Breakfast is good, and as we were staying in Premier Floor (which is 12th floor) we can enjoy complimentary evening cocktail, snacks and soft drinks at premier lounge.
It was a nightmare. We booked our room on booking.com. The staff failed to find our reservation when we arrived. it took 15 minutes to persuade them, that we are in the right hotel. We saw a reservation for the same amount of money on my wifes account as our stay's price, so we have asked them if they had reserved the money . They said they didn't, but they will look into it. We waited for one hour, just to realise that the girl who we have talked to, just left the bulding. Probably her shift ended. We tried to explain ourselves again from the start. We got the same promise from the staff, -they will look into it-. We tried to speak about this issue at the morning again, but they forgot it again. I didn't wanted to start explaining myself from the beginning, so we just payed and left the Novotel. After 2 weeks they released the money that they didn't reserved... /sarcasm
Short distance near airport
I was charged RMB168 in cash with no receipt given. I was told to make a deposit of RM200 and were returned only RMB32...which means I was charged RMB168. I thought I had already paid the RMB168 through my credit cards at the time of booking. I was not told this RMB168 was paid for what bills. Hope not billed twice...
Standards are slipping at this hotel as a frequent guest here I was surprised by the lack of cleanliness - upon entering my room I noticed peanuts on the carpet two days later there were still nuts on the carpet my bathroom walls were grimy and had yellow lumps of dirt on them - very disappointed
The friendly staff and smiles from everyone from cleaner to manager. The location and the wonderful shower. The spa water in the hotel. actually does feel like silk! Plus the wonderful Mary on customer services who really had her work cut out printing off my boarding card it seemed fraught with problems. Thank you again Mary.
The expensive breakfast. I would have loved to just have an option for toast, or toast and cereal but it seemed to be all or nothing. The American breakfast was a better option but all served together made the table full and me confused! Do I eat the hot food or the cereal that came first?
