Mercure Xi'an on Renmin Square  

Very helpfull staff especially I older man on the reception.

The service is excellent. The staff are very attentive. If I return to Xi'an, for sure, I'll be at the hotel.

Comfort

Location, it's about 30min of a walking distance from the city center. Maybe not ideal if you are sightseeing in winter.

The bed was a typical Chinese bed, way to hard for my tastes.

Proximity of hotel to neighbouring Sofitel and use of tehir facilities a real bonus Landscaping of site ( 4 hotels) very pleasant and quiet in a noisy busy city

Room rather chilly

Located very good for a city visit. Part of 3 hotels in same square (Sofitel, Grand Mercure, Mercure), which allows you use of swimming pool. People working at reception spoke English and were always very friendly. Bathroom was good, nice clean room, real value for money. Would stay again in this hotel when returning to Xi'an.

A very relaxing place to stay with clean rooms and access to the facilities at the other hotel on the square. Good location inside the city walls with an easy walk to most of the sights. Excellent tour booked through the hotel when we arrived at a reasonable price. There was a water leak on our second day with water dripping through the ceilings in the corridors. We were not affected but those rooms that were and any new arrivals were given an upgrade to the 5* hotel on the square and the staff were excellent.

Shower door leaked and the air conditioning was not very effective.

I got a free upgrade to a suite, which was nice, the room was big and enjoyable, the location is superb.

the room smelt a little bit humid, and as it was very cold outside, the heater was not powerful enough at the beginning of the stay

Insufficient superlatives for this Hotel, we were treated like royalty because my wife was in a wheelchair. They offered to show us 2 rooms to see which we preferred for our convenience! We took the first because it was close to the front desk fabulous access. All the staff were fabulous, every taxi called for and instructed regarding our journey - every little thing noted including asking us if they could do anything to improve their care of us, just fabulous. This was combining luxury accommodation with the "family friendliness" that we love when we travel because we like to meet the real people in every country we visit. Absolutely loved this place

Not a whiff of a complaint - definitely recommend

The location was very good: about 15 minutes from the railway station and about 15 minutes from the Bell tower walking distance.

The room was a bit noisy

Good location, friendly stuff and very clean rooms. I have traveled at the end of august where whole complex smelled like peach (smell of guihua tree). The hotel is located next to huizu market, where they sell souvenirs as well as local food. Historical buildings were not too far from the hotel as well as night clubs and bar street.

Cant think of anything, besides overpriced internet, but I guess that is the case with all hotels.
