Mercure Xi'an on Renmin Square  

The location is very prominent to anywhere around GuLou. Hotel is actually located in a big courtyard which is very quiet at night. Hotel staffs are very friendly and efficient.

Staff were ALL delightfully friendly and helpful. Good complex with shared facilities with Sofitel. Taxis all friendly as well

Had asked for a non-smoking room due to my wife's asthma but clearly the greeting area had been smoked in recently. Fortunately the bed room was clear.

The room is clean and cosy. Very comfortable with good front desk staff who are helpful and conversant in both English and Mandarin. We have stayed at Sofitel (Shanghai) a few years ago and we liked the room and service rendered by the hotel. The decision to stay at Mercure was very much driven by our pleasant stay in Shanghai. Good job and well done.

The location was great with many restaurants to choose from in this hotel block (square). Centrally located to anything in Xian city and the hotel easily arranged a tour for us to the Terracotta Warriors. Just what we needed!

All was well - with a very nice pool (located in the Sofitel in the square).

Nice clean hotel, helpful staff, good price

An excellent and very well priced hotel in a central location. We arrived after midnight on a late flight and staff were very friendly and checkin was prompt and professional. We ate breakfast at the Grand Mercure - again a very good buffet at an excellent price We would recommend this hotel for mid range price and great service

When we arrived, we were upgraded to a suite which was very apriciated. The staff is very helpfull and speaks a littke English. Tha beakfast was good although is is more a chinese buffet you expect for dinner. Also here the staff was very helpful. There are no restaurants in the hotel but there are a few in the other hotels on the same site. However, there are many nice local restaurants a few minutes walk into the direction of the city center. We went to teh teracotta army. Just take bus 306 from the main railroad station (outside the city wall, it is clearly indicated) which departs every 20 minutes. Don't use a guide. Audio guide is enough

Not much to complain. The room was quite warm and the airco din't work. As is was old outside, we just opened a window.

The bed was a typical Chinese bed, way to hard for my tastes.

Proximity of hotel to neighbouring Sofitel and use of tehir facilities a real bonus Landscaping of site ( 4 hotels) very pleasant and quiet in a noisy busy city

Room rather chilly

Located very good for a city visit. Part of 3 hotels in same square (Sofitel, Grand Mercure, Mercure), which allows you use of swimming pool. People working at reception spoke English and were always very friendly. Bathroom was good, nice clean room, real value for money. Would stay again in this hotel when returning to Xi'an.

Excellent Breakfast

Rather good location, walking distance to town centre & railway station. Also rather quiet. It's nice to have the other hotel (& facilities) close by

The hotel is in a hotel-complex (Renmin square) with Sofitel. in the evening you prefer to stay in the square but there are nog many dining options.
