English speaking receptionist was incredibly helpful. Excellent location, across the road from the beach, near where the wall enters the sea. Hotel organised car for us to visit the Great Wall in the mountains (at Jiumenkou) with driver waiting for two hours to bring us back. We booked Ocean view room but were upgraded to excellent ocean view suite - very good view, excellent double-sized shower. Very clean, large room. Excellent choices at breakfast, western and chinese.
Although the restaurant served good food, there was more choice for westerner food than chinese; with most of the chinese options being out of stock. This may just be an out of season problem.
Location. Quite good breakfast.
Room was very smelly and the furniture very old styled. Restaurant's menu offered wide selections of food, but in the reality most of them was unable to order.
the restaurant is very good. good staff. room had a wonderful view
it's far.from the.train station. they don't have wi-fi but they have wire in the room.
Heavely overpriced for these old worn rooms No aircon, boiling hot room Stayed in many hotels/guesthouses in China before definitely poorest price/quality. Only reason to stay there is if you want to be close to dragon head and tiaokou great wall.
Good location - 5m walking to the old dragon head wall section. Amazing staff, super friendly and english speaking. Good breakfast and good restaurant. Calm and relaxed complex.
Very small bathroom with chinese shower - after one shower the bathroom becomes a swimming pool. No wifi in the rooms. Complex in general could use some renovation/painting/small fixes.
The promise of the location and how interesting the contrasts around the area are. The staff were very helpful, even when communication was a challenge, but we managed. The food was good overall. Good range for breakfast.
I'm glad I went to Qin Huang Dao, but it's not a choice I would've made had I known more about the place. The near end of the beach is where the Great Wall ends on the sea, which sounds far more glamorous than it is. The far end is a shipyard. The stretch in-between is an interesting collection of abandoned boats and rusted stuff and polluted water, which I find beautiful, but not to everyone's taste.
The location is very close to Great Wall and musea; fine seafood restaurant nearby and english speaking staff
Quite remote from shopping/restaurant area, though cheap taxis are readily available. It is not a beach resort according to common Western standards (too much industry/harbour)
Good location, good staff, clean rooms.
