Helpful staff, tours direct to Great Wall, tasty breakfast, central location
Comfortable room. Great shower, bathroom was modern and fully up to western expectations. Helpful staff, hutong experience.
We realized too late that it is at the wrong end of the Forbidden City and you have to take a bus (or long walk) around to the southern end to enter. No good restaurants close by. Mediocre breakfast, but we could get a coffee, which is important.
wifi is a bit slow
the room and the cr was big.
the location. going to the hotel, you have to pass a scary and dark small alley where there's a stinky public cr. the hotel is not well kept. the bed is hard and the cable tv only has chinese channels.
Hard to find the hotel. They barely know english
It's a pleasure to return to a very quaint and quiet stay at a hutong after a cold wintry visit around the city. The excellent central location being at the backyard of the Forbidden City and Jingshan Garden makes this an excellent choice to explore Beijing. The room also provides all modern amenities and retains some Chinese character in its furnishings.
Breakfast runs out quickly but the service staff do try their best to replenish.
Even if the entrance kills everything, the rest is almost perfect. The best part of this hotel is the location. It's located next to the forbidden city, you don't need to take the subway.
The wifi is a littke bit poor inside the room. The subway is quite far to get.
Nice, small hotel.
This hotel is really near to the Forbidden City - but only to the back exit and the hotel is in a hutong. It was a hard job to find a taxi driver to take us to the hotel because it is in a Hutong! It was very cold in the room, restaurant, poor breakfast.
Hotel location was ideal for the Forbidden City area of Beijing with various night markets nearby too. Clean and comfortable hotel with helpful staff.
No wifi in the room and limited time that breakfast was available 8.00am to 9.30am.
The room was a good size, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom very well equipped and very pleasant to use.
Inside the hotel looks very authentic Chinese style. Room is big and well furnitured.
The hutong through which you have to enter hotel is dirty and stinky. Though I like hutongs overall this one is definitely not the best one. No soundproof so I was waking up every morning at 6 because people leaving the hotel were making noise by just dragging their luggage outside my door. You can also hear when someone flashes the toilet in the next room.
Safe is light and not mounted.
This hotel was amazing. It is located off an authentic Beijing hutong and 1 min from the breathtaking views in Jingshan Park and the iconic Forbidden City. We stayed in a couple of hotels whilst in Beijing to get a sense of different areas but this hotel was in a different league to the others. The staff were incredibly helpful, the atmosphere in the courtyard is so peaceful (a sanctuary amongst the chaos of the city!) and the value for money for such beautiful rooms was fantastic. It was a magical stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.
Nothing, it was perfect! 10/10!
Good hotel located inside a old Hutong and the room was clean and confortable. I recommend this hotel.
Breakfast should be better and the staff should use typical chinese uniforms.
It is a nice hotel to stay to go around the city. the location is very unique, inside a Hutong. you can experience the real living of local people. It is close to Jingshan Park and Forbidden City . There are buses and subway not far away. The staff here are awesome. very friendly. It made the trip very pleasant. Great place. strong recommended.
A little cozy hotel tucked away in a traditional hutong. Rooms were tidy, clean and spacious and their little courtyard invited you to spend some time reading and relaxing. It's about 20 mins walking distance from Forbidden City South Entrance. You can rent bikes from hotel which makes getting around a bit easier, but it's hard to know where you can park your bike safely. The next subway station is a 25 min walk away but a busline runs on the main street just outside the hutong.
It's hard to get a taxi in Beijing and it took the concierge about 2 hours to get us a taxi to go back towards the airport. We weren't in a rush but you need to plan this carefully.
Close to many sights The location inthe middle of living China The small size makes it very friendly
It s a bit far to the next Metro station but connected with bus 111 The patio can be a bit loud depending on guests Breakfast to expensive and not very special
Had they not advertised a "mountain view" or a balcony (which rooms do not have) and had they not grabbed me, I would have been pleased. The room was very comfortable and attractive.
Advertised and charged more for a "mountain view" when there was none. Grabbed me when I tried to leave when they wouldn't accept a reduced amount. Also, the staff's English was very poor.
the room was beautiful, the staff were uniformly friendly and kind, the setting was marvelous with goldfish, turtle, umbrellas over tables in the courtyard. I will plan to stay at Jingshan Garden Hotel EVERY TIME I visit Beijing from here on. It was lovely.
Very quiet hotel and rooms. good bed quality very clean nice and helpful staff
No restaurant, bar etc advice unfortunately no recommendation for tours other than the ones provided by travel agencies.
very central; lovely courtyard garden; very comfortable room; good breakfast; very helpful staff.
Solid Value and fairly good location
Unable to use their website to make a reservation, the Hutong where they are located is mediocre.
The staff were very helpful and obliging. The hotels courtyard was the most wonderful retreat at the end of a busy day. Our rooms were always clean and refreshed with water and toiletries. The bed was comfortable and cool. We loved the breakfast. We were well cared for and our daughter loved the resident pet bird, tortoise and fish. It was quiet inspire if being in the midst of the town and just a short walk away from the beautiful Jingsan park and forbidden city. Would definitely go and stay there again. Charming place!
The wifi was not always strong. We just could find a metro station that was close enough to walk to.
Bathroom was spacious and shower good. Decorated well. Cleanliness was good standard. Near buses. Staff were courteous. Breakfast had good Asian and Western options.
Noise of people going through courtyard early morning -ok if heavy sleeper.Location -taxi drivers had problems finding it. Not close to decent dining options and many tourist attractions except Forbidden City. Not close to metro station -30 min walk. Great Wall and theatre tours not value for money & a rip off -bad service of tour co.Staffs' English limited. Breakfast not hot if go bit later and staff not as attentive when busy.
Enjoyed staying at this place. Rooms are rather spacious and bathrooms comfortable and clean. Staff is very helpful and friendly and the yard is amazingly quiet. Hard to believe that you are in the centre of this metropolis. It is a bit of a walking distance to the next metro station though. So my recommendation is, take one of their bikes and explore Beijing while cycling. Don't be intimidated by the traffic. Go with the flow and you'll be fine. It looks scarier than it is.
coffee needs to be ordered at the breakfast buffet, and comes in tiny portions, which is a bit troublesome for people who like to consume larger amounts, like me.
