Score from 590 reviews Excellent
The staff were terrible, could not speak a word of English! And over priced us massively! £100 for a bag of washing..... Do not to washing there!
- the room was big - the bed was great
- i didn'ty get the breakfst and could understand why. It was closed when I went down at 9.15. still don't know what happened. - avarage english - metro about 15 min walk - alsmost not existrirng wi fi event with the delievered router to the room
Quite far from metro station. No wifi in the room.
Quite close to Forbidden City, you need to take taxi or transport though.
Staff is rude and not helpful, the guided tours offered have compulsory shopping stops at tea, jade and silk shops; the guide barely knows what she babbles about, in an approximate English. Room flooring was dirty. Wifi in lobby only.
I just like the location
I think room facilities according to price is not sufficient, they can't maintain the room, a lots of things are broken.
The rooms are ok, big enough for a group of three, clean. Very accessible to public transport, subway, and bus station. One of the staff, Bruce is very accommodating
There is no wifi in the room need to go down to get signal, no english shows on television There is no reception area in the ground floor to sit while waiting or doing internet. Need to learn english more
Close to some areas
Dirty, small rooms
Traditional Chinese guest house, very authentic; located very close to Forbidden City and Night Market
Breakfast was NOT good beds are a little uncomfortable
Dirty and old hotel with unpoliet staff. Noisy place, not good for sleeping. Wallpapers are falling apart, lamps are not working, safe box is not working...They don't want that you feel good and come back - just want to get tourist's money. I would not recommend and I will never come back. Away from metro.
Central to all of the attractions, half an hours walk to the metro. Close to the Oasis Cafe.(Can highly recommend this one) Upgraded room was fantastic. Very good Chinese restaurant, and western food available, was ok.
The Chinese style room was terrible. The toilet didn't work and the shower leaked. As it is on the bottom floor there was a window that everyone walking past kept staring in. Quite expensive for what we got. Upgraded for $20 more a night, room was great.
Nearby to shopping area. helpful staff; possibility to cancel booking of two nights, without charge
Not listed on the Google map, difficult to find way back to hotel from nearby; taxi do not take us back from nearby water leaking in toilet bellboy introduce to expensive taxi at RMB200 to Beijing South train station when metered taxi costs only RMB37!
Really close to Jing Shan park, Forbidden City and Tianamen. All walkable
Staff are not great. Don't rely on them to get you a taxi early in the morning. The lady in the train ticket booking part to the right of the entrance is much more helpful
You get what you pay for...
Our rooms were Nothing like the pictures!!!
Good location - close proximity to sights Tour service - trip to great wall very good and good value
Room- dark, poorly lit, dirty carpet, well worn, smell in room, dirty walls, tiny bathroom, beds rock hard, no Wi Fi in room and the Wi Fi in lobby very poor Customer service/staff- do not expect to receive any customer service or help here. Staff have very poor English, they refused to call taxis for us. Also very rude and always busy doing other work other than dealing with your query. Restaurant- breakfast expensive for what it is. Dirty tablecloths, grubby cups, utensils looked unwashed, food appalling. Again poor customer service. We have stayed in plenty of budget accommodation for less money and have received a much better service. It's hard to express how poor and non-existant the customer service is at this hotel. Also, this place should not be called a hotel.
Friendly staff, great location, best cappuccino around! WiFi in lobby and nearby rooms was a nice surprise. Great massage relaxed away my travel stress. Wish I was staying longer!
Hotel restaurants are a little expensive. Find local places nearby - we ate meals for <10rmb per person! Mini fridge was broken but we ate fresh instead. Wish it had been closer to Houhai or Worker's Stadium - needed a cab to get to the bars.
The staff was very polite and useful, even though it was hard to understand their english. You can exchange money in the change office in the hotel at very good rates. It is a safe bet to ask for day trips or other sights in the touristic office.
There wasn't internet access in the rooms. Also, the rooms are very small.
Good beds and clean rooms compared to the rest of Beijing.
staff is lazy, tries to ripp you off and hardly speaks any english.
Room was clean, and a good size. Quiet. Bathroom needed maintenance.
Staff appeared to be on commission and very keen to sell tours and the usual contact for fakes. Guests are entitled to choose their own supplier of tourist and retail goods. They do not need to return to the hotel for a further uninvited sales pitch
I liked that there was service where you could book you train tickets, eventhough you had to pay an extra fee of 30/30 rmb for each ticket you book.
the standard double bed room was disgusting, stains everywhere on the carpet, smelled like cigarettes, mosquitoes everywhere in the bathroom, even stains on the towels.and NO WIFI in the rooms, only a short cable for your laptop, and only wifi in the lobby!
The location- 5 minutes walk from the Forbidden City.
There was no wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby. The key card to the room never worked, so couldn't open the door..
The location was great and the beds were comfortable.
This hotel has a neglected feel, the carpets are in need of a deep clean. The staff were desperate to sell you tours and reluctant to provide any other information. The Internet only works in the lobby and it wasn't always reliable, so it was difficult to find out information independently.
Close proximity to the Forbidden City
The hotel is run down and needs a revamp. The picture is very misleading and i did not even recognise it anywhere in the hotel. Smoking is permitted everywhere and the smell is unbearable. The staff can barely speak English and this leads to poor service and frustration. The price that was quoted was increased when I checked in. The check in and check out procedure is extremely slow.
The location is great, close to many tourist attractions.
Staff is not friendly at all, not helpful, never know anything, the reception didn't even know they have a tourist agency right in the same hall that can arrange tours etc. horrible internet. And I speak Chinese so I can't blame their attitude to the language barrier
problem with the internet connection
