Redwall Hotel Beijing    

Very close to forbidden city, metro station was also not too far away. Family room was very spacious, the economy double was not.

Be aware when getting back your deposit. We deposited 500 rmb at check in and in the time we checked out, on out of the 5 bank notes was a fake one. Unfortunately we did not realized it immediality. So everybody that is booking this hotel be aware of fake money!!!!

Good location (right behind the forbidden city) rooms are good size, clean perfect for a short stay (few nights) early checkin possible (from 8am)

No english (not specific to this hotel though, a standard in china)

The noise form some of the guest into early hours no consideration for others and the slowness in which it was dealt with mean't I had a sleepness night before and early morning start not good. The casual bar needs updating and staff need to keep the tables clean The food was basic. The club sandwich poor. The staff on reception when i asked if they had found a computer lead in my room when i had to move rooms she said no! but I asked to go and see for myself and I found my lead on the desk in full view I think they didn't want to go out of the way, as was the case when one of the concierge was asked to go with me he was too busy on his phone and asked why he should escort me. I think some staff training is in order with how to deal with western guests.

Affordable and comfortable. We'll defenitely come back.

Our aircon didnt work for 2 days. Quite hot because we were with kids. But they gave us cooler afterwards.

All personal is very friendly, ready to help 24 hours.Perfect location of this hotel, close by to city centre and famous sights of Beijing.

Good location. Can walk to Forbidden City, Tian Ah n Wang Fu Jing shopping area. The bus stop is just outside the hotel. Can take buses to a number of places from there.

The staff was not too helpful except one bell boy who could speak English quite well. It was suppose to be a family room but the mattress was place on the floor. As an elderly person I had difficulty in getting up.

We arrived 2am and the staff that entertained us is friendly and it took us only a short time to check-in.

the hotel has 5 floors without elevator, it's not comfortable if you have big luggages

The location is superb

I didn't feel like it was good value for money. I had better hotels in other big Chinese cities which were far less expensive. The beds are way too hard, rooms are a bit old, bathroom flooded every time we took a shower. There was no wifi in our room. And the Yen - Euro conversion rate was totally wrong when checking out. Beware of the riksja drivers in fornt of the hotel! They deceive you no matter which price you discuss!

1 the location : near the back-gate of Forbidden city and the traditional alleys--- walk distance is about 10~30min.. One can easily go to all tourist sites in East and West district by bus and each ride just cost 0.4yen (with easycard) or 1yen(without any discount) 2 the cleanliess: as the Chinese standard it is excellent. 3 very convenient : If you can lay down your standard , there 's a street full of fruit stands and small restaurant, and two breakfast shop just neibouring the hotel( only do business in the morning)

1 The clerks are willing to help and I's satisfied about their service, but seems not be trained to do things with efficiency.

staff were not friendly it takes time before we were able to connect to internet. I asked one staff how to connect several times and I was replied "do you understand!" which is afar frm showing good customer service. The bell boy service was good. Hard communicate in english.

Bathroom was dirty, the tiles and grouting were black and had obviously not been cleaned for some time Beds were very hard Located in a very shabby area Unorganised check in, took 30 minutes to check in because "locals" were jumping the waiting line Breakfast was very limited

The hotel is conveniently located and well priced. Facilities were basic but ample to suite my requirements. Only stayed a few hours due to a rushed travel plan, but all was fine.

The location is just perfect, staff was friendly and their english was quite good compare to other hotels :)

Wifi was only in the lobby and very slow, but in the room was also cable, which we couldnt use with IPad....

I really enjoyed being in the center close to public transportation and most of the employees speak English and are helpful. Special thanks to Jason and Hayes for their kind support during my stay...

The bed is deadly hard!!!! The bathroom a little bit humid but ok... You need to take bus 109 or walk 20 min to get to donsgsi subway. I wasnt sure the room I booked online was the one I got...once arrived to the hotel! Check your reservation as they forgot one night when I checked in and they wanted to charge me again for the last night even if it was already included in the amount i paid when I arrived!

The service is great and professional. The stuff makes an effort to assist its guests. We recommend to book daily trips and night shows via the provided hotel services.

The bed was uncomfortable and you can feel the springs on your back. We didn't care because we were so tired.

The best thing about the Red Wall Hotel is it's staff, they are the cement of the whole experience, they understand English and would go out of their way to make your experience more fulfilling.

Bit run down and outdated, but clean otherwise.

this is a real value for money place right in center of beijing. nice staff, comfortable, cheap, all good. i always stay here when in Beijing -twice a year.
