From Salvo Hotel it is possible to walk to The Bund (riverside) in 5 minutes, also the great shooping street Nanking Road is 5 minutes footway. In the hotel good mixture of chinese and international guests. For me it was perfect. In the neighborhood a few typical chinese streets. |

I liked its location, the comfort of beds, good help of the concierge breakfast is poor, I believe it should have been included in the room fare, street noises penetrates through windows even on 16th floor, stuff did not respect late checkout time written on the reservation form |

Comfortable and close to major attractions in Shanghai. The exercise facility was deplorable. The equipment did not work and there were mosquitos in the room. The ceiling was barely 7' tall and the A/C was not working in the exercise room, or should I say "nook." |

Rooms in Chinese style - so you know in which country you are ;-) You have to like it to feel comfortable. Fast and good quality food from room service. No snacks in mini bar, but therefore fast room service. Somtimes hard to get understood. |

The hotel was quite close to some attractions. During our second stay at the hotel we were given a suite which was very nice, it;s a pity that we had only one night to stay in this room. Also, the prices offered by booking.com are twice cheaper than actual hotel's prices. The price of the breakfast was quite expensive, so we had our breakfast at Nanjing Lu - there are several cafes out there. |

I got a room in the executive floor (27th) and the rooms, while rather baroque-looking, are spacious and comfortable. Free wired Internet access. Walking distance to the Old City, to East Nanjing Roast, and to the Bund. Staff was professional and English-speaking. Concierge was extremely helpful in arranging reservations and taxi rides. The room I got on the 27th floor had no view from the window (other rooms on that floor do have great view). The bathroom had a shower/bathtub combination with the shower nozzle placed way too low. A nearby room used by a colleague of mine had odor coming from the bathroom. |

I liked my room. It was very spacious and the ambiance was really nice. I also liked having the desktop computer in my room. Above all else, the location was nearly perfect for me. The hotel is near the Bund and Nanjing road so it was quite convenient for me to get around. It got a little difficult whenever I was at the reception/front desk. There were times wherein there were so many guests and only a handful of receptionists on hand. Management needs to address this because the queues at the front desk get very long sometimes. Staff's english is good but could still be improved on. |

Excellent location, very helpful and friendly staff who speak good english, good western breakfasts, very comfortable rooms; booking on this site gives you ëxecutive'status and preferential check-in on the top floor. |
