It's a quiet area near Nanjing dong Lu.
They asked me at the front desk to do the booking online to get a better rate. I booked via booking.com and received the confirmation immediately. Went to the front desk again, showed them the reservation, and then they refused to check me in, and said they have to wait half an hour before booking.com send a confirmation to them. I got furious! I waited in their stupid lobby. They gave me a creepy room with no windows. There was absolutely no access to WiFi, and in my room also blocked off from data via my sim card.
Price, Room and Location Are great.
Restaurant on top floor, pathetic food, Bathroom, Breakfast, front desk unfriendly staff. Never try this hotel's restaurant. Unusually very low occupancy in this hotel. They need to improve the quality of breads offered at breakfast n also add more fruit variety for the vegetarians.
Price and position
I couldn't take a shower because the water was cold.
Location was ideal for what I required.
Rooms are looking a bit tired.bathroom requires a good overhaul/clean.
1- Location is ok
1- Wi fi connection is not good
location is good, they need security deposit when check-in
book two rooms with family members but gave us rooms not next to each others but few rooms away
Rooms are large but old and tired- not very clean.
Tea is not free in the room and price is unknown.
The sewage system must be broken，the room smells really bad
The location is great!
-Friendly and helping personnel -Quiet in the night, good sleep -Perfect location, 5 min to NanjingDongLu Metro Startion, 5 min to Bund
-Cold shower in the morning, although it was repaired
Recommended to stay , spacious rooms and easy to bund ,Halal food available near
Room is big
Wifi is very slow, smell of cigarettes in the no smoking area, especially in the toilet at hotel lobby.
The location is perfect for activities in The Bund and People's Square area.
It's very unpleasant that the toilets in reception area are used as smoking room for staff. It smells terrible there, and you feel like you need to cut your way though the air there :-(
The staff were nice. Value for money was okay, considering good location, sizable room and general cleanliness. All in all, not bad.
No wifi in the room. My family occupied three rooms of similar type for six nights, and conditions varied. One room was especially filthy, with very dirty bathtub, water tepid, and low water pressure. On the other hand, another room was spick and span, hot water, no complaint about pressure. Air conditioning/heating system in all three rooms broke often, but as soon as we called, a maintenance person came and fixed it. Communication in English was not easy, as is common anywhere in China. The bed was made and the rooms were cleaned every day but were never vacuumed, even though the carpeted floor became visibly dirty with breadcrumbs, etc. after a week.
Shower didn't work, bath didn't work... staff didn't care. Smoking everywhere, paper thin walls. Constantly solicited by pimps in the lobby.. "you want under age girls"... Minimum two to a table a breakfast because the staff are too lazy to open up the rest of the restaurant. For Westerners it borders on offensive listing to Chinese eat and sitting next to one slurping and eating with his mouth open then spitting on the floor isn't a good way to start the day. Only positives were room was big and its close to Nanjing Lu. If you want a Western style hotel stay in a Western hotel is my advice. This suits locals.
place of the hotel is very good room is big and clean
I stayed several times I don't remember something serious
Location, big room, bathtub, nice views. Staff was much better than I thought from previous reviews
The room got cold in the nights and A/C was in Chinese, so we were not able to make it work. Cleanliness was not up to par, I even found a small cockroach on running around.
Our flight was delayed and even though we contected the hotel to inform them we wpuld be late one day they changed our rooms bookings and thencharged additional to stay another night.
Fantastic location.Best staff i have dealt with in Shanghai hotels.Staff have very good English.very helpful.I will stay here again.only a few minutes from everything we needed.
The decoration is not to my taste. The wifi is slow. The shower is not working well. The bathroom is too small for a suite. The sofa in the living room is not facing the TV.
Rooms are large and clean.
Service both on a arrival as well as on departure was somewhere between amateurish and downright unfriendly. E-mail correspondence is not answered. Wifi router in room existed but was not connected to power (or network).
Hotel is not the same as some years ago. Worn out.
