I lived at Koala just one day. About the location is not so near to the most famous places like Xintiandi or People Square, anyway the area around the hostel it's nice also at night. About the subway, the nearest station is Dongbaoxing on the line 3, it's about 10-15 minutes walk from the hostel. About rooms and services, I stayed in a six beds dorm room, there were 3 bunk beds and the room was small: if you want to stay there for many days, it's better if you booked a different kind of accomodation. About the food, they made also Italian food (I tried just one dish and it was good!). I recommend it
The stuff was friendly and spoke English.
The shared bathroom was dirty. The shower is pretty much just a hose. The bed was not made and not clean.
Location is very very good!
- I had arrived at 10pm, I send a mail to confirm before, but when I came, the staff told me that there are no vacant bed now, ask me if I want to upgrade, this make me over controll, feel so passive.
-no tissues on toilet -no seperate plug sockets for each bed
The place looks cool, wifi was okey as well
The rooms were tiny The was dust everywhere
The location is great. It is in a quiet yet convenient district. The surroundings are great because the hostel is located in a cultural district.
Staff - some of the staff does not speak English, and their attitude to customers is not satisfied. Hygiene - terrible washroom & bathroom. The condition in the room is not satisfied. Service - i booked the rooms via booking.com and it seems that the staff at the hostel do not have the record. The registration takes for almost an hour which frustrates me a lot. Not effective and efficient. Since the overall service and hostel condition are not up-to-standard, I do not recommend this hostel to travelers.
Lobby Setting and layout looks old shanghai western cafe.
Cleaniness was the top most digust factor. The toilet was surging with water after a short shower. Daily the room was makeup and even instruction to do it was pretty much a delay or not even done. I have to go collect the shower foam, toothbrush on the second level myself. Wifi was really poor and the bed was not make-up on a daily basis. Really not worth the money for such an accomodation which there are plenty of alternative out there.
Area was great and close to a subway stop as well as other tourist areas such as the bund
Bathrooms and showers were pretty dirty
The building looks nice, the place loacted Duolun Road.
The quilt is not clean
Nice area and the staff was kind.
The rooms. Don't go by the pictures. Rooms looked great online but were very small and tv did not work. Not good value for your money. Could have paid much less for a better room.
WIFI so bad
Smoke odor everywhere especially in rooms
Very nice hostel with vintage furniture and balcony. Located in a beautiful historical street which has many visitors and people doing photographing.
A little bit far away from the subway station. There is breakfast menu on the restaurant, somehow the staff told me they don’t provide bbf when i wanted to have some bbf before catching a flight. Expensive than other hostel considering the room facility I was offered.
the people of the hotel are very friendly, they helped me in all.
when I visit, in the moment that I pay my reservation , I should to pay a warranty 100 rmb,It I didn't know , i don't saw it in the website
