Very cooperative, nice staff!
Location (2 stops to Hongqiao Railway Station).
Not so clean, and a little moldy.
It was really close to the subway. It was in a quiet neighborhood. Room was spacious. It was pretty clean.
Wifi access was TERRIBLE. There was construction across the street. The shower stall leaked in to the bathroom.
The hostel was pretty cheap, that's why we chose it.
The room was really dirty, a lot of spider webs, dust and in the bathroom there were hairs on the walls, probably from previous guests. On top of that was the toilet clogged, not only in our room but in others aswell. Also the hostel is located really far from the center. So I really recommend to pay a little more money for a better hostel because this one was horrible.
The staff is nice and advise you if you want
We've been to the room with 8 beds (314) and It is really dirty. They don't really clean the room and the bathroom. The wall is dusty.. conclusion: very dirty!
I like the fact that this hostel was close to the subway (5mins walking distance) and only two stops to the Hangqiao International airport. Location is really perfect. Not too far from attraction sites (just take the subway, more convenient). The air conditioner works perfect and the WiFi isn't bad at all. The room (private) was really spacious with a huge bed which was well dressed. I recommend this hostel if you want a budgeted place to keep your stuff and rest after a long day's work! A true value for money!
Cleanliness was really bad, the room was really dusty and have some strange smell. The wall paintings were falling off. There isn't much illumination in the room but that's ok if you don't need it. The bathroom sink wasn't working which I reported but saw no action.
I booked two twin rooms for two days. But they said i can't because former twin room users didn't check out! It was my travel in Shanghai and i was annoyed.
The main advantage of the hotel is the price - it is quite cheap. The hotel is situated very close to the metro station, but the station itself is far from the downtown.
I stayed with boyfriend and we needed a good rest before our flight, so we booked a twin room instead of dormitory beds. However, during both of the nights we spent here we didn't have opportunity to rest. Our room didn't have windows, we had only a small window to the corridor, and we couldn't close it tight enough to stop cigarette smell entering the room from the corridor. It was really hot and stuffy inside, but the air conditioner was old, bad and loud. Also the staff was crying outside very loudly: early in the morning they woke everybody up, and it was too loud to fall asleep till 1 a.m. We had bathroom in the room, but it had awful smell, and the door couldn't be closed at all, so the smell was in the room. Also something was wrong with water in the toilet, it worked so slow that after one person flashed another person had to wait for ages or simply use common toilet in the corridor. The room itself looked old and not clean enough. So we didn't sleep well, didn't have a rest and simply wanted to leave the hotel as early as possible.
Staff on the desk was extremely impolite, the air conditioning gradually did work at mid of the night, everything in livingroom seem not very clean and bunch of kids from nowhere were noisy in it all the time. A construction is located right in front of the door of this hostel. no elevator no lock for me no thanks from staff. Actually Im really not sure if they really want to run this hostel.
The room was dirty, the toilets and showers were not very clean either, you have to climb a lot of stairs to get to the main area. I slept in a 6-bed dorm, A/C never worked and I was very hot. I had been to this hostel in winter before and it was fine, probably because there weren't many people. I only chose it and would only recommend it if you arrive to Hongqiao very late in the evening or have a early departure from that train station/airport the following day. Otherwise I will never stay there again.
After more than 3 weeks in china this was one of the best. Dorms were clean, washrooms, air con is free, and the staff very friendly. Thank you all!
The wifi is sooooo poor.
The staff were very helpful. My stay was mostly comfortable, but I truly enjoyed it.
Rooms need to be cleaner. My room had too much dust. The corridors were very noisy in the mornings. No elevator
Nice stuff, good wifi, clean rooms (though the cleaning lady came very early every day - at 8-9 am), not far away from the metro station and the metro line is very convenient - easy to get to main sights. I'd recommend to stay here, good quality for that price)
Near go to subway
Wi-fi so slow
Far from downtown and other interests Very small dormitory No wifi in the rooms Sometime unclean It's cheap as price for Shanghai, but it's a cheap quality hostel. If I was to be in Shanghai again, I think I will go to a other hostel and pay a bit more.
Blue Mountain is the place to stay whilst in Shanghai, to put it simply. It's affordable, in good locations, and the facilities and rooms are good. The beds are comfortable too!
the hostel is in a great location if you are coming in our flying out of hongqiao airport. it is only a few blocks from the metro station. i stayed in an all female dorm with 4 bunks but they were never filled. the wifi also worked very well and i was able to skype home.
the staff didnt speak english very well and it is required in check in before 6pm.
Nice staff, location not the best but is on the lake
There is only one shower so need to wait in line
If you want to stay close to Hongqiao airport, it is a good budget choice. I slept suprisingly good. It is very close to the metro line 2, and a big street with many connections to busses. There is a big common area downstairs to socialize. Supercheap. We stayed in a twin room with ensuite bathroom, nothing bothered us.
No breakfast, food available only outside, no coffee either. No kitchen to prepare. No elevator, you have to carry your luggage to the 3rd floor (the rooms are all in the 3rd floor).
Bed was comfortable with clean sheets, hot shower. Good wifi downstairs. Staff even went next door with me to help me order dinner in a local restaurant. Very close walk to the subway.
The lobby is fairly shabby. Wifi doesn't work upstairs in rooms.
Value for money, 5 mins walk to nearest MRT station "Beixingjing".
Old room with cracks on wall and in bathroom, towels worn out and thin like a rag, no proper place to hang clothes
The price was cheap for being in Shanghai, and they kept our luggage for the whole day after checking-out so that we could keep sightseeing.
We had booked a family room and 2 double rooms, that is, rooms with a double bed for couples. We checked in and they said everything was ready, but at the rooms we found out they were 3-single-bed rooms. I wouldn't mind if they had said something at the moment of checking in, like 'sorry double rooms are not available' but they took the money without saying a word. When I complained angrily, they only said 'ah, sorry' but they didn't seem to care
