Convenient to airportt

- very close to the airport (10-15min, it was for a 1 night transit) - free shuttle to and from the airport (every 1/2h, starting at 5:30 in the morning for terminal 1,2 and 5h45 for terminal 3) - good value for money - very comfy and clean - free ethernet in the room (cable provided) - different types of restaurant + swimming pool

shuttle *really* difficult to find at the airport: on terminal 3, it's in the parking lot at the parking slot C08-18 (which is between C08-74 and C08-76 :-) ! People usually don't speak very well english at the airport, so you need to find someone (information centre) who knows where to go, write it down on a paper, and then show your paper to any employee you meet who will show you the direction (everyone was friendly and eager to help). When you find the slot, you just have to believe the people you met before and wait there (usually alone) until a shuttle arrives. On the way back, the shuttle was very easy.

The airport shuttle never arrived to pick us up at the airport. We paid quite a bit to take a taxi to the hotel and almost missed our ride tot the Great Wall. When we explained what happened to the hotel staff at the front desk they simply laughed at us. They were quite rude and not the least bit helpful.

The day we stayed in hotel had no lights. We were told that after dinner, we will have our keys to the room. But at 8pm, we were told that the computer still had problems and still cannot get our keys to open our rooms. The staff had to open our doors. We left at 4:30am the next day.

1) NO compensation for us for NOT having keys to our rooms. 2) Day time staff does NOT have changes for us at all. They told us to see the restaurants staff for changes. My sister found that the hotel has a machine of money but the night time staff do not tell us about that. 3) Night time staff do not help us at all and when call for computer connection and they told us there will be charges. It appeared that they do not read the contrct at all. Ours are all inculded. 4) Manager did helped us to get 2 taxis early the next morning but the taxi driver wanted 100 rmb for the trip. We gave them 50 rmb but they want 10 rmb for early call at 4:30am. I think hotel should provide transportation to airport even early in the morning!

Very nice hotel, large rooms and close to the airport, with free shuttle.

Temperature of the room (in winter) was too warm and cannot adjust yourself.

Reliable free bus transfer to an from the airport. Fast friendly check in and out. Was given free internet access in my room too.

Internet access wasn't very good. A little far from any restaurants if you don't want to stay at the hotel.

Once you actually get there, the place is quite nice. The hotel is huge; there seem to be 6 or 7 restaurants just off the lobby, everything from Japanese to Chinese to Swiss cuisine (!). There's a pool, which I didn't use, and a massage service which I found quite competent – a very nice luxury to prepare for the 10 hour flight home. Now that I know how to get there, I will definitely stay there again. Regarding breakfast, you don't have to spend too much. There is an American-sryle breakfast available at the Swiss restaurant for 115 yuan, if you must, but the Chinese breakfast is only 79 yuan and, hey, you're in China!

The shuttle is impossible to find on your own. In spite of instructions per email through booking.com (this was great service, BTW), I needed help from the "VIP" desk in the airport. When the driver arrived, he called the VIP desk and the nice lady there escorted me to the van. The driver was somewhat gruff, but helped me with my luggage and got me to the hotel in short order. Be prepared to spend a half hour to an hour to get this organized if you've never been there before. Getting back to the airport the next day was a breeze, however.

The sandwiches for sale were dry and at least 2 days old.

The shuttle-bus service was efficient and punctual. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

The hotel's Chinese restaurant was relatively expensive and poor in comparison to other restaurants we ate in during our stay in China. We regret not having gone to one of the restaurants located nearby the hotel instead. The hotel receptionist gave us the wrong terminal number for our flight which led us to being dropped off at the wrong terminal on the day of our outward flight.

No shuttle after midnight we had to take a cab after much bargaining they charged 120 yuan for a 10 minute ride--absolute ripoff. Otherwise, amenities and hotel were great. --Mp free wifi
