CITIC Hotel Beijing Airport  

Hated hotel as everything smelt of cigarette smoke. Hotel is used by local crew who all smoke everywhere.

Very nice hotel, large rooms and close to the airport, with free shuttle.

Temperature of the room (in winter) was too warm and cannot adjust yourself.

Reliable free bus transfer to an from the airport. Fast friendly check in and out. Was given free internet access in my room too.

Have stayed here before and everthing I need for a short stay over is here as well as the area surroundings,perfect for the airport next day flying

Location: in a small bustling neighborhood with a great grocery store down the street and many small food vendors. Free airport shuttle was very convenient. The Chinese breakfast was pretty good.

Room was dingy (not the fault of housekeeping... Just an old room and building). It also smelled like stale smoke even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room.

Good service, good restaurants, very quiet, close to the airport

Once you actually get there, the place is quite nice. The hotel is huge; there seem to be 6 or 7 restaurants just off the lobby, everything from Japanese to Chinese to Swiss cuisine (!). There's a pool, which I didn't use, and a massage service which I found quite competent – a very nice luxury to prepare for the 10 hour flight home. Now that I know how to get there, I will definitely stay there again. Regarding breakfast, you don't have to spend too much. There is an American-sryle breakfast available at the Swiss restaurant for 115 yuan, if you must, but the Chinese breakfast is only 79 yuan and, hey, you're in China!

The shuttle is impossible to find on your own. In spite of instructions per email through booking.com (this was great service, BTW), I needed help from the "VIP" desk in the airport. When the driver arrived, he called the VIP desk and the nice lady there escorted me to the van. The driver was somewhat gruff, but helped me with my luggage and got me to the hotel in short order. Be prepared to spend a half hour to an hour to get this organized if you've never been there before. Getting back to the airport the next day was a breeze, however.

Need more education for taxi drivers to find hotel from Terminal 3. Also the airport shuttle bus either did not come or did not stop for our departing flight -- guests should be told to wait outside for the bus. However, manager arranged a private car for us, driven by hotel staff, and that was very nice. Breakfast, not included in the price of our room, was very good but also very expensive.

When I arrived, the front desk confirmed my room had been prepared for me, but on getting to my room, workers were still looking after some repairs. I waited for a bit, then went back downstairs and said I would wait in the lobby. However, finally had to go back to the front desk and ask what was happening. I assume simple a miscue, but I was very graciously upgraded to a suite. The original room looked more than adequate for my one night layover in Beijing, however, the suite was a delight.

On arrival at the Beijing airport, I looked for the standard bank of telephones to dial directly to the hotel for pick up. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be any easy method of contacting the hotel as I did not have a cell phone with me. A lovely young woman at the Info Centre went above and beyond the call of duty to help me. The hotel is listed at ctc Hotel Beijing and not citic, so made it very difficult. Thankfully, I had seen a van with a ctc logo and ultimately made the contact. Then the next hurdle was finding the place to wait for the van to pick up in the bowels of the airport. More information when booking would be helpful, especially to foreign travellers.

Good location, nice pool

No shuttle after midnight we had to take a cab after much bargaining they charged 120 yuan for a 10 minute ride--absolute ripoff. Otherwise, amenities and hotel were great. --Mp free wifi

The rooms were very nice - comfortable and quiet. Staff was there attending to every detail. The #1 thing for me was the Complimentary Shuttle service you have - not just to the airport. I so wanted to visit the Hard Rock Cafe and had not been given the opportunity while in Beijing. Much to my pleasure your hotel had shuttle service that dropped me off right in front of the Hard Rock and picked me up a couple of hours later! I was thrilled with the service. Thank you and I will recommend this hotel to others.

The cost to use the pool and facilities. I was expecting to relax and then found out there was a charge if I wanted to go outside and use the pool.

It is not clear where the pickup spot for the suttlebus is and the bus did not arrive at the promised time.
