next to poly-thearter walking distance to malls and nice restaurants
This was a return visit and check in was very smooth and easy. Enjoyed the gym and sauna, had a massage, which was excellent too. Location is good for walking around. Breakfast was also very nice, much better than most comparable hotels in Beijing.
Room was tired and musty but on an upper floor with a good view. Not a lot of Western places to eat nearby.
Right at the entrance "C" of subway line 2.
Pillows and the mattress.
Subway is right on the doorstep - so easy to get to hotel and to go out around the city. All staff I met this visit were friendly and helpful (much improved on last visit!) Good room, no smell of smoke. Very comfortable bed. Everything you could need in the room.
It seemed really difficult to get a taxi to take me to a local restaurant. Some drivers refused, the one that did accept the fare didn't know where the destination was! Not good for a 4* hotel.
Internet not so fast
Great location and staff are generally very helpful - I have never had a bad stay in this hotel. Great value.
This was the 2nd time we stayed at this hotel. The first was back in 2006 and we decided to stay again due to its conveniences and great service last time. The fast and efficient check in process had us in our non-smoking room about 7 minutes after the very helpful bellhops carried our big luggage into the lobby. My mom loved their "soft bed" (soft for the Chinese anyway). For me, there was enough padding that I was comfortable on that hard bed. The housekeeping staff was very patient with our later morning starts. And every evening, we came back to clean beds and baths. When we needed an extra bottle of water, they happily gave us one. The front desk staff were very helpful with directions and advice on local phone cards, travel modes, and subway exits. Tourist stops were easier than some of the places we wanted to find :-), but they printed out maps and directions for the more obscure places. A Subway Line 2 stop is right outside the front door. The WuMart is around the corner (next to the MacDonald). There are plenty of food carts near the corners serving inexpensive delicious breakfast "tacos" (onion pancakes with bean sauce, lettuce, and optional grilled meats) to the local commuters every morning. There is a great Peking Duck place just down the street from the hotel (much better than the two place most tourists experience). Earlier reviews complained about smells and some worn carpets. We didn't see (or smell) any of that on this visit. The place may not have the glossy sparkle of newer hotels, but it is clean, warm, comfortable and secure. Oh and the WiFi in the room was great. The TransPacific internet link back to the US was slow! But switching to Baidu as our default search engine worked out just as quick as Google. Oh #2. Our final bill was less than what we expected with our reservation rate. So a very pleasant surprise at the very end of our stay.
Not the hotel itself, but all the subway stations had very long stairs to head down and most had escalators going up. But be warned that during winter, many subway stations close sometime between 22:30 and 22:55. Only Line 1 and parts of Line 2 keep running until 23:30. Then make sure you have a card with the hotel's name and address for the taxicabs. I just remembered the only problem I noticed. You cannot get the hotel wifi in the lobby area. So if you don't have a data plan, you're out of luck unless you are willing to pay 2 yuan per minute at the Business Center.
Just near the metro station - thats realy convinient and saved us from using lots of taxis. Early check in is available. Great breakfast.
Breakfast is only untill 10am. The pool is requered to have a hat.
1) Poor drainage of water in the bathtub - the plug kept closing (room 526) 2) Lighting is not bright enough in the lobby and walkways
Good hotel with the stuff helpfull! Good location. But not to forget, that you are in China! So everyone try to trick you! I thing that is national chines tradition to trick "laoway" as they say! Be careful!
You are in China! All the people i met tried to fool me:((( I do not to tell about all the people in China, but all i met was not honest! It is not related to the hotel! Hotel is math his rate!

The convenient location: an easy connection from the Airport express. Nice breakfast.
The air in the room was quite polluted (there should be better filters), the swimming pool water had too much chlorine.
