The homemade tofu was the best we have eaten. Food available all day from 7.30 made it very restful- we could just get up and eat breakfast when we were ready. Amy and all the staff were friendly and most helpful.
There was nothing to dislike
Really nice place. Staff were fantastic, Amy especially, she found us a shuttle bus to Guilin North Train Station, a taxi would have cost heaps and public bus + taxi would have taken a long time and cost similar amount. Nice food too. Biking riding and silver cave were really great.
More information about the tours\activities would have been good, we did a really long bamboo raft ride, it was too long, half the length would have been better.
The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Best restaurant on Yangshou. We especially like the curry, Israeli salad and fresh ginger tea. Very comfortable, cute and rustic hotel.
the breakfast didn't start early enough. We wanted to have breakfast before we check out. By 7 am, it's not opened yet. we're quite disappointed with this, nevertheless everything about this hotel is perfect. Highly recommended!
Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Beautiful garden view. Delicious organic meals.
Excellent customer service oriented staff, well appointed rooms, the food, the Chinese decorations and overall ambiance. Nothing was a problem for the staff...
Staff very helpful and friendly, scenery amazing, rooms beautiful and clean, beds very comfortable and rooftop restaurant was impressive. Hotel supplied bikes and maps for riding around local area (highly recommend)
A bit far from from town so most meals eaten at the hotel which got a little pricey.
We've had an amazing stay at Tea Cozy and we were sad to leave. We arrived after a delay in our flight, but the driver waited for us to take us from Guilin airport to the hotel. When we arrived the staff came running out to help us with our luggage and stayed around to serve us dinner. The rooms and the common areas are nicely decorated and look well kept and clean. At breakfast the second day, Amy talked us through the map of the area and suggested activities for that day (cycling and bamboo rafting). When we returned she had made an entire handwritten schedule with options for activities during our stay (5 nights, 4 whole days), including prices. We ended up doing most of it (mountain view points, caves, mud baths, tai chi lessons, light show, fan painting etc.) and it was absolutely amazing. Everything is taken care of through the room bill, so no need for dealing with cash. The car service is affordable and very nice not to have to worry about getting places, since the area is kind of remote. This also means there's not a lot of restaurant options nearby, but the restaurant at Tea Cozy is excellent with a lot of Chinese and Western food options.
Breakfast is not included, but there's a nice selection of food. Wifi is sometimes inconsistent, and there's no cable tv - but who really needs that in a place like this?
Unbelievably good staff, huge, comfortable room, good restaurant on sight. Free shuttle buses, free bike rental, excellent suggestions on what to do with maps and phone to contact. Just a great hotel overall.
Secluded, away from city. Great place to 'get away', good food, affordable
The location in the countryside, the fantastic service, the rooms, the whole atmosphere in the hotel and the good food available throughout the day. Lots of recommendations for activities, free shuttle service to town Fantastic value for our money. The owners take real personal care of each guest.
Everything was good!
Location outside Yangshuo, but convenient for bike rides along the river, good food in the hotel restaurant
Expensive, two hour car drive from Guilin airport with the teenage driver arranged for us by the hotel, rather pricier place with breakfast not included in the room rate, no lift comined with the top (fifth) floor, hotel is close to the noisy main road with heavy trafic from the early morning (5 - 6am)
Loved everything about it. It really is worth the money. The staff was just amazing. They were really helpful and provided us with lots of tours and activities. The room and views from our room was just mind blowing! When we arrived, our room wasn't ready and they let us have a shower in the garden section. They provided us with clean towels and shower gels. They provide free shuttle bus into town at certain times, and because we just got there and quickly jumped in the shower, they kindly asked the driver to wait for us until we were ready to go. It was also my birthday there, the staff bought a cake and placed candles on it and started singing Happy Birthday! They were so nice! Was really surprised by it. On the last day, we wanted to do the dragon backbone rice terrace tour, the staff offered to drop us at the Guilin train station on the way back instead of having to come all the way back and find our way to the station on our own. Would recommend everyone to stay here.
You´ve to taste the tea and the food in the little restaurant
from balcony I could only see a building lot
Pretty looking building inside and out. Excellent restaurant food with the option of eating inside in the warm or outside in the beautiful garden. Great Chinese breakfast that's sure to keep you going for most of the day. Western breakfasts are also great, it seems there is something for all tastes. The dinners are a winner also. Room was the prettiest, cleanist and best equiped we've had in China. The staff are very friendly at all times, always smiling.
Tour was a little expensive and we couldn't go kayaking but other than that it was a very enjoyable few days.
I was initially hesitant to book a hotel out of the town - we always like to stay right in town. But I couldn't ignore the wonderful reviews! And they're all true! The room, the food (oh, the fabulous food!), the staff, the charm. And being out of town wasn't the tiniest problem. We loved it! Would recommend it to anyone. And even if you aren't staying there, at the very least have a meal there. The food is very special and so reasonably priced. It's a wonderful place!
Amy and all the other staff provide friendly and efficient service. They deliver what they promise - a relaxed stay in a beautiful rural setting. The rooms are very comfortable, the garden is delightful and the meals are fresh and delicious. Definitely the highlight of China trip. Don't miss the Cultural Show in nearby Yangshuo (Amy will organise transport and tickets) - spectacular!
Be aware that there is no lift - not a problem for most guests.
Location in a beautiful area outside main town Really helpful, friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help (Amy especially so) Comfortable rooms with a great balcony Huge choice of tasty food
Road outside could be noisy with drivers always sounding their horns as they went past (although never at night)
Great staff, great food, lovely boutique hotel.
Really lovely and authentic place to stay away from the hustle & bustle of Yangshuo, with beautiful views over the karst mountains. The room was impeccable and much nicer than I expected (you never know if the photos you see beforehand are a real reflection of what you get, or just taken by a really good photographer), the food was fantastic and the (English speaking) staff super friendly. Would recommend it to anyone!
WiFi was slow at times, but I guess that's more due to the fact that you're in China than anything else.
- very friendly and helpful staff - amazing location - the food of the Hotel restaurant is delicious and not overpriced
Staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help us Food was great and very reasonably priced Room was beautiful and very comfortable Location of hotel is perfect - easy access to both Yangshuo town and countryside activities
5th floor room with no lift... but it was a small price to pay for the experience of staying here
Friendly personnel, beautiful location, tasty food, stylish atmosphere
The only way to get to the hotel if are individual traveler is taxi
Pre-arrival correspondence great, welcome fantastic, service superb. Local tours arranged effortlessly.
- Extremely friendly and responsive staff. - Food was exceptional. - Room was very comfortable and clean. - The Tea Cozy was able to plan plenty of great activities (e.g. hiking, biking, Li River light show, shopping etc.)
Wifi was a little bit weak on the top floor, but generally worked.
