Rooms very noisy, chinese kids from families who live in the hotel playing from 5 am just outaide the rooms. Very poor english, they are willing to help but it is a titanic effort to comunicate. Very expensive for what the overall service is. There are many places with better relation quality-price.
Some run down areas
The location is near to some tourist destination spots
The room wasn't ready at check in time
Good position Good prices for city tour
No window in any room High humidity smell Hard bed No noice isolation Very small room Bad equiped bathroom
Best hostel I've stayed in China until now. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The meals were nice and clean. Internet was very good. Subway is also very close. Met other nice international travelers there.
The environment of the neighborhood around the hostel is very dirty. Rooms and bathrooms are clean but need renovation to fit other hostel standards.
Staff spoke little to no English Cabbies could not find the place Not central to walking markets Room could use repair
Location, location, location ... next to the lama temple, in a hutong close to metro lines 5 and 2 ... so many sights in walking distance and everything else including summer palace and forbidden city just a tube ride away. Also, just one stop on line 2 to the airport express terminal in town, so 40 minutes to the airport T3. Staff was friendly and helpful, good help with booking tours and good choice of tours available.
Despite having booked a suite room we had to accept a family room for the first night ... some silly excuse why the suite was unavailable (we were told that from the second night on the suite will be available and the change over was no problem). Fresh toiletries and towels every day ... but beds were not made (a bit strange ...)
English speaking capability
The two young lady receptionists speak English fairly well, and they go beyond the ordinary in making guests feel at home there.
Location was great in the middle of the old Hutong if you are looking for a central part of Beijjng to start your trip to China then I would recommend this area but maybe not the classic courtyard. try spending a little more money and you will notice the difference.
Good location. But the management was failing in the training of their staff. One receptionist was really good but the rest of the time the staff were lazy. The cook was nowhere to be seen all day and only turned up when the staff took over the eating area for their meal time! But for guests it was not possible to order food? The rooms were not cleaned each day only the bathroom & having spent 8 to 9 days there we had to ask to have our bed linen changed? It is a shame as this could be a really nice place. May I suggest that the owner pays a visit very soon?
_The staff speak english and is really available _The subway station and good sightseeing location (Lama Temple, Confucius Temple) are closed to the hotel
Hot water almost instant (even if the hot water an cold water directions were mislabeled).
Rooms are poor build quality and leaky (but to be fair, so are most buildings in China). This was early February and I had to run the AC at highest (31 degrees Celsius) setting all the time to not freeze. Toilet backed up, likely because I threw some toilet paper in there. But since there wasn't a sign about that, it was hard to know.
Staff's willingness to help. Seemingly old chinese styled interior. 'Local' customers. Relatively close subway stations. 'Attractions' and shops/restaurants in the vicinity.
Rooms are not very sound 'proof'. Hard bed (thin 'mattress'). 'Slow' shower drainage.
the boss was nice.
- reception was very unfriendly - no parking availabe - pictures online while booking are totally different
Near lama temple and subway
Heater didn't work
+Help-full staff +Reasonable room size +Low price compared with the service and facilities
I can only confirm the positive reviews of this hotel. The Rooms are perfectly clean and big. Their food is excellent, the prices low and affordable for everyone. They offer many tours and each of them is a great deal. The wifi works perfectly fast with seperate wifi connections for each area. The Rooms can be heated well. Hot water, quality bathroom. The staff are english speaking, extremely helpful and very friendly. They help you with just anything. I'm really happy we found this place thanks to the positive reviews and can, with a clear conscience recommend it to anyone who is scrolling through these reviews right now. You won't be dissapointed. This place is worth every single Yuan, and after testing a few hotels in Beijing that seems to be a rare thing these days. Thank you so much for always giving more than you are actually asked for and for being special. You are truly outstanding and deserve the best possible score, a 10/10
Very close to several interesting sites and easy to get to via the Subway.
The staffer was very rude to me, insisting that I looked like a girl because of my haircut. The bed was a very thin foam on top of a raised floor; there was no mattress nor springs so it was very uncomfortable.
Location is good. Rooms are good. Bathroom is simple but good.
On arrival they first tried to get me into a horrible room upstairs, only after complaining they booked me into a decent room on the courtyard.
Not so clean Should Buy new Towels
Great atmosphere in Hutong area and close to subway. Just next to Lama Temple. Very friendly staff, good English. Will stay here again or similar place if ever again in Beijing. Number of choices for the included breakfast, and even cheap beer.
The location is wonderful, the facility is also OK. You have to ask the counter for kettle and hair drier, but they have it.
There is no real window in the room which makes it too humid after shower. Breakfast is way too expensive as there are cheap nice breakfast places all around the hotel.
The staff was helpful, the room was well-equipped, and everything worked. Super-fast wifi and cheap beer!
There was a lot of mold. And it was often noisy outside my room.
Very close to Lama Temple. Close to subway.
Seems that they have poor sewage so it smells a bit in whole hotel. There is a sign next to toilett not to through the toilet paper into the toilet. After arrrival the stuff offered us to pay whole amount or pay daily - we choose the second option. We had a reservation till friday but on wenesday they told us that there is no room to our disposal! I assume that if we would pay in the beginning we would not have that problem.
