Rooms are very good with a beautiful design Situation, 5 minutes walking from Forbidden City Bar in the top
A bit short the restaurant menu
Excellent value for money Very close to the Forbidden City Good WiFi (but you need a VPN to access certain sites) Nice terrace Friendly staff Check-out at 2 pm
Easy walking distance to Tienanmen Square. Staff extremely helpful when organizing a private driver/car to visit The Great Wall and Ming Tombs and a then a drop off at the airport
Fantastic location, just a pleasant short walk away from the Forbidden City; extremely kind and helpful personnel, speaking very good English; clean and comfortable; the very good restaurant on the terrace offers amazing views on the city and the atmosphere with the evening lights is truly magic
staff, location great , good breakfeast, towels were great
overpriced food and drink
Good location but chambermaids like to wake you up early!!
As it was a holiday the chambermaid kept ringing the bell at 8am to basically get us out of the room so that they could clean London
Great staff, kind and very helpful. Fantastic location.
Internet connection was quite poor
All the amenities of a 5 star hotel with affordable prices. Cookies at night, newspaper in the morning, bike rental for free. Good breakfast. Amazing views from the rooftop. Design and size of the hotel room are a plus!
Wifi was not perfect... :) I guess is the best I can say. In addition the jacuzzi with a price of 200 yuan is a little excessive, although the location in the rooftop is a plus!
This stay was really great. The architecture of the hotel is very nice and the staff is extremely kind and helpful. The staff alone deserves 5 stars! If you need a taxi to the airport they order it for you without any extra charges. That is very nice because all the subway-stations are quite far away from the hotel. But on the other hand you live directly beside the Forbidden City. From the roof-terasse you have a great view over it. Every room has the name of a Chinese Emperor. As a gift the guest receives a typical Chinese stone-seal with the name of this Emperor. The breakfast was good!
The location, decoration, roomspace and cleanliness of the hotel.
the very bad service at the restaurant as well as the isolation between the rooms.
the room was on the ground floor and we had a constant rumour from something we identified as kitchen extractor but it did not disturb our sleep.
Excellent location and awesome roof top restaurant. Spacious Suites, unique style and perfect leisure time.
Too much light in the suite, dark curtains recommended.
Nice rooftop bar & restaurant overlooking Forbidden City. The best feature & saving grace if the hotel. Free bike hire. (if you can get them & if you do get one, hold onto the key for the duration of your stay) Good breakfast Free mini bar in room is a bit limited but it's still free which is good
Expensive meals & drinks especially for portion sizes. Badly run down exterior. In need of urgent repairs & renovations. Staff speak very basic English at best. Communication extremely difficult at times. Rooms are noisy & feel a bit cramped At it's cheapest rates, it's ok value but prices can vary significantly from day to day, to very expensive compared to other hotels. I would personally stay elsewhere as there are much nicer & cheaper hotels in Beijing. It's worth a visit though for a meal to experience the rooftop bar
The location was the best I could have hoped for, in a neighborhood , near the Forbidden City.
Some language issues with the staff caused me to miss an event I had paid for but things like this are part of the experience. Also, as a solo, I could not seem to get a reservation in the rooftop restsurant.
Location!!! Design rooms, nice rooftop bar/restaurant with good food and excellent cocktails
Prettty much we liked everything about the hotel. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds, excellent location for walking around in the center of Beijing, from the glamorous Wangfujing street, to the Forbidden city, Jingsaw park and the Hutongs! More than decent breakfast offered in the price and the staff were all very helpfull and friendly. Spectacular view from the roof garden/bar of the hotel. That is if the weather allows it. Word of advise, ask the reception to write down on small pieces of papers all the places you want to visit in the area, in chinese! Also have the address of the hotel written in chinese, asalmost none of the taxi drivers speak english! The nearest subway station is around 20-30 minutes walk and don't worry it's very easy and safe to use. And most important, directions in english everywhere! Also prefer to change most of your money in chinese currency, at local banks that can be found all around, rather than at the hotel. Better rates! Gym at the hotel, not really a gym but who cares, you are on holiday! Have fun and enjoy! Thank you Emperor Beijing Hotel
Their were local shops, rest within walk distance.
When they booked my tour of wall section, they did not inform you that the faster ride and the faster slide down costs extra. Also that tour does not offer at any time to eat.
Especially the staff make this conveniently-located hotel worth a stay - couldn't be more helpful or friendly! I will return...
Roof top rest/bar with views. Center location very close to forbidden city.
The design of the interior was a breath of fresh air to those that experienced typical 5-star accomodation. The hotel view from outside was unassuming.
Location: close to Wanfujing and the Forbidden city Price Breakfast
Location: in a very narrow street that's not easily accessible, so it is sometimes hard to get a cab Personnel doesn't speak English well
-Location close to the forbidden city
-Bed rather hard -sunlight coming in above the bed at 5am, impossible to sleep long and poor blinds
We did not want to stay in a brand new hotel -- we wanted a nice hotel but one with more character and close to a neighborhood. The Emperor fit perfectly. Tiananmen Square is a 10 minute taxi ride or a 20 minute walk - either choice is a good one. The staff was very helpful. Eric was particularly helpful in arranging a car and driver for us. The room had the two beds we requested and this room -- a corner room -- had lots of extra space so we could spread out a bit for our three day stay. Breakfast was nice. Would definitely stay again.
We weren't expecting a brand new hotel, so we were not disappointed by anything.
Location and wonderful food at the restaurant on the rooftop with the Forbidden city view!
The shower and the toilet are at too close and everytime you take shower The toilet gets wet. The air conditioner turns off automaticaly after a few hours on during the night and it's not well dimensioned for the room
