Score from 828 reviews Excellent
the room was on the ground floor and we had a constant rumour from something we identified as kitchen extractor but it did not disturb our sleep.
Excellent location and awesome roof top restaurant. Spacious Suites, unique style and perfect leisure time.
Too much light in the suite, dark curtains recommended.
The location was the best I could have hoped for, in a neighborhood , near the Forbidden City.
Some language issues with the staff caused me to miss an event I had paid for but things like this are part of the experience. Also, as a solo, I could not seem to get a reservation in the rooftop restsurant.
Location!!! Design rooms, nice rooftop bar/restaurant with good food and excellent cocktails
Prettty much we liked everything about the hotel. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds, excellent location for walking around in the center of Beijing, from the glamorous Wangfujing street, to the Forbidden city, Jingsaw park and the Hutongs! More than decent breakfast offered in the price and the staff were all very helpfull and friendly. Spectacular view from the roof garden/bar of the hotel. That is if the weather allows it. Word of advise, ask the reception to write down on small pieces of papers all the places you want to visit in the area, in chinese! Also have the address of the hotel written in chinese, asalmost none of the taxi drivers speak english! The nearest subway station is around 20-30 minutes walk and don't worry it's very easy and safe to use. And most important, directions in english everywhere! Also prefer to change most of your money in chinese currency, at local banks that can be found all around, rather than at the hotel. Better rates! Gym at the hotel, not really a gym but who cares, you are on holiday! Have fun and enjoy! Thank you Emperor Beijing Hotel
Their were local shops, rest within walk distance.
When they booked my tour of wall section, they did not inform you that the faster ride and the faster slide down costs extra. Also that tour does not offer at any time to eat.
Roof top rest/bar with views. Center location very close to forbidden city.
The design of the interior was a breath of fresh air to those that experienced typical 5-star accomodation. The hotel view from outside was unassuming.
-Location close to the forbidden city
-Bed rather hard -sunlight coming in above the bed at 5am, impossible to sleep long and poor blinds
We did not want to stay in a brand new hotel -- we wanted a nice hotel but one with more character and close to a neighborhood. The Emperor fit perfectly. Tiananmen Square is a 10 minute taxi ride or a 20 minute walk - either choice is a good one. The staff was very helpful. Eric was particularly helpful in arranging a car and driver for us. The room had the two beds we requested and this room -- a corner room -- had lots of extra space so we could spread out a bit for our three day stay. Breakfast was nice. Would definitely stay again.
We weren't expecting a brand new hotel, so we were not disappointed by anything.
Location and wonderful food at the restaurant on the rooftop with the Forbidden city view!
The shower and the toilet are at too close and everytime you take shower The toilet gets wet. The air conditioner turns off automaticaly after a few hours on during the night and it's not well dimensioned for the room
It is very clean, secure and comfortable. Staff is friendly. Their breakfast is quite good with Western options as well as Chinese ones.
It is about 20 minutes walk from the closest metro station. However, the walk can be fun if you go through the hutongs. Furniture set up is a bit of a problem. The bed is enclosed by other furniture. My cellphone fell in between and everything is attached. Luckily a piece was loose and I was able to remove it and bring the phone over with a stick.
'Funky' designed rooms close to Forbidden city. Nice roof terrace although because of the hot weather we did not make use of it very often. Free water and daily newspaper.
Staff in general friendly though one of them reacted very annoyed when we asked to call for a taxi and help us to tell the taxi driver where to go. Nearest metro station is an 18 minutes walk.
modern great breakfast great location clean comfortable helpful staff newspaper, weather report daily in room mini cakes and mini bar complimentary free wi-fi option to borrow bikes for free to explore the city
Big room, benefits included. Good bike to be rented for free. Very good breakfast. Nice view from the terrace.Very near to the Forbidden City.
Not even a 3 stars hotel. Old building, not very well manteined. But very nice compared to the neighbourhood standars.
Food is good Close to forbiden city, but far from the center For the room price it seems fair
Bad is hard ,sleep was unpleasent No elivetors ,3 fllors Thin walls ,be carefull when increasing voice....
Location is walking distance from many places. Comfortable place to stay in.
Staff don't speak English which makes it difficult to communicate with them and ask for things you need. Staff forget things that you ask them for. Not very well organized.
Great location & very quiet
breakfast location cleanest helpful staff
The name of the room is very unique. I love the design of the building and the room. The restaurant & bar is fantastic.
The number of bicycles for rental is limited.
Arriving early and being allowed immediate access to our room - a blessing after a long distance flight! The staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly and the location was great!
The beds were very uncomfortable.
The decoration was interesting. Breakfast good. Free bikes was super.
The facility was a bit crumby. It felt unclean. The location was a bit poos.
The hotel was old and run down, Very overpriced for what it was. Disappointing at best.
Very well located and friendly hotel. Nice people and quite room. The restaurant offers good quality food and the breakfast is good compared to other 5 stars hotels I went.
low wifi but it is common...
