“ The ambience of the hotel was really good all through out the hotel, the interior design from the lobby to the reception to the restaurants and especially the rooms is outstanding. The staff were very helpful and eager to serve in whatever way they can. From helping to arrange sightseeing tours or mapping out places to go, or picking up a taxi. The staff spoke very good english, especially the concierge. ”

Everything. Great Staff, Food, Atmosphere. Plenty of local attractions and shopping. It wasn't the hotels' fault my only dislike was the weather - it rained a fair bit of the time I was there.

Atmosphere in hotel, good staff, room Tv Shanghai 30 -style introduction, shower and wc systeem. Logation is great, shopping mall with many restaurants near, metro near, easy to get taxi. Breakfast no fish, Shanghai style dumpligs?

I loved this hotel, stayed here many times, great location, helpful staff, nice deco. since isnt a Langham hotel anymore (since March 2013) this hotel is starting to lose its charm, got smaller room ever which was really uncomfy without the chance to change it 'cause they insist I dont have the benefits I had before with 1863 program, even though i paid for a double I got a single room. too bad.

The rooms are large and tastefully arranged, the bathroom is wonderful (except low water pressure). It gives a feeling of being in a very large room. The coffee shop is not terrible yet it does not look to be the same place, very ordinary

We had a two day stopover in Shanghai and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The location of the hotel is excellent and is only a few minutes walk to the main shopping area, parks and rail stations. The staff were fantastic - nothing was too much trouble for them and everything was done with a smile. Loved our experience and would definitely highly recommend to other travellers.

Location, location, location! I stayed here twice. The hotel is close to the train station - People's Square, exit 14. It's in walking distance to East Nanjing Rd without all the noise. You can also walk to the Bund really easily. The staff are super friendly and speak English well. Breakfast was ok-good as it was included, no complaints there. I was given a great room during my first stay (I had some requests which they were able to fulfil.) It was disappointing I didn't get the same kind of room but no complaints. It was still a great room! They're really helpful and accommodating. The room service number I dialled didn't connect to in room dining. I would have to go through the front desk to get transferred. No biggie though :)

Location is very central and perfect. Design and atmosphere beautiful. Very friendly reception. Lovely rooms. Feels like a private boutique room and not like a typical room shape. Breakfast is average, only 3-4 star. Most rooms are dark, small windows and no good outside view. Lobby sometimes too strong perfumed.

Well designed. Perfectly sized - staff knows our names, well located. The concierge staff was terrific. This was a second visit - we'll stay there again The bar could be better designed and made more user friendly. The lobby floors place is underutized. The price of brunch!!!' Omg!!' When we checked out for a side trip to Beijing they had guaranteed not only a room upon our return but a fantastic weekend promotion rate however when we returned we were told because we hasn't prepaid with our credit card - even tho it had been pre booked through booking.com and we had given them our platinum amex-our room had been given away. They suggested they find us a room in a other hotel for one night and they would give us an upgrade and free drinks when we come back They booked us into the meridian next door - in a room that was a fraction of the size - 30% higher price, no breakfast, no wifi and a very in attentive concierge staff. When we returned to the Langham we did get an upgraded room and the drink coupons. When we took advantage of the drinks and ordered a single malt scotch, we were told even tho the coupon said a beverage of your choice in English, but inchinese it said "choice of one of two Shanghai special cocktails " which were some ridiculous undrinkable concoction. The snafu of the reservation system is inexcusable, the aggravation of moving hotels , wasting a day going back and forth and the hollow drink offer really put a bit of a damper on the rest of our stay

The hotel is small enough to evoke peace and tranquility, yet not so small that it feels crammed and budget type atmosphere! The location is super! The staff is efficient and attentive, the food at Chinese restaurant was very good! Hard to park
