The hotel boasts a huge, open warehouse feel, industrial with contemporary art and a wonderful lift in the central space. The location in sanlitun is ideal for high end shopping and late night dive bars. It's in the heart of a strong beating pulse. Staff are dressed in modern designer uniforms. The rooms (modern, minimal and yet luxurious with very high tech specs) all sit off the central open atrium on different levels and so opening the room door always offers a pleasant view (if you don't suffer from vertigo). There are two restaurants in the lower level (both of which are very good) as well as a pool and small gym offering a soothing, serene experience with lush blues and burnt orange. The cafe restaurant on the ground floor serves health-conscious dishes in a light modern, fresh environment. I particularly like the small outside seating sections for the bar mesh and the cafe restaurant - both surrounded with bamboo and offering long communal benches to share a drink and soak up the balmy summer heat.
Not much to be negative about - there could be a spa and the service is a bit limited out of the main hours - although the dishes I ordered were of a very high standard. It's a fabulously refreshing hotel.
Everything. The details, the design, the room, the pool, the location, the toiletries, the ipad in the room.
None, or probably the price, is expensive but every penny worth the experience.
Everything is just perfect. I feel like going home. The interior design is fantastically function and graceful. The minibar is free with sufficient supply. More than that, I got small souviners everyday, which really brought smiles to my face. Particulary the first day right after I checked in, they sent me two masks and bottled water with a cute note, "must be a long journey. :)" How sweet! I definitely will go back to this hotel in the future.
Beautiful hotel in a convenient location. Rooms are very comfortable.
Room design (exept glass pattern in the toilette) Relly good shampoo, conditioner... Rooms without noise Staff really willing
Too mutch dust, I was allergic. Reception design (see the back of the receptionist)
OK, Beijing is an enormous city for which it's difficult to define if an hotel is in a good location or not, as there are plenty of good locations within this city, depending what one wants to do. We were happily surprised to find The Opposite House in the middle of a brand new shopping district, full of life and extremely trendy. All the best brands are there as well as lots of restaurants. One even has at walking distance a supermarket (which going to is an experience one should not miss) as well as market for clothing, another experience which was impeccable. The staff was extremely friendly, doing whatever possible to assist us with directions and recommendations. The room was awesome, wood all over the place and a feeling of peace and quietness that challenged it's surroundings. This is the hotel I recommend to anyone travelling to Beijing.
Hotel like no other. Amazing decor, extremely friendly staff who all spoke English nicely, very clean room which was gorgeous. Wood on the floor and a glass separator to the sinks and shower room. Compared to similar priced hotels everywhere else in the world (New York, London, Delhi, Tokyo) by far the best value for money. Whoever designed this was an absolute genius.
Absolutely brilliant hotel. Wonderful staff. Immaculate design. Cannot use enough superlatives to justify how great our stay was.
Brilliant staff. Very well appointed rooms. Great stand alone wooden bath tub. Simply gorgeous.
Great location, comfortable and stylish interior. Good service, modern style. Don't expect a traditional hotel desk.
nothing I remember
The decoration, staffs, and location
The WiFi was slow You could hear the car honk all the time, even at 2 am in the morning
Second time there, very satisfied.
Interesting interior design, very convenient location inside Sanlitun village. Very friendly and helpful staff. The area is surrounded by good international restaurants.
This is the most exceptional hotel have ever stayed in and I travel already more than 30 years. It is simply perfect.
Decoration and location.
Beautiful design. Perfect service. Fantastic location.
spacious rooms for those who love wood
the wood bath was leaking
Clean design, free mini bar, location
Styling, very fast wifi and free mini bar. Nice restaurant choices
Stylish Japanese inspired design and very contemporary. Will certainly stay there again.
It is so far between the expectation and the reality, so I dont think I will go back second time.
The layout and the features of the room were great and the service was excellent. We even left something in our room and after contacting them, they shipped the item back to us.
The hotel was great, a bit overpriced for what was provided.
Chose the side opposite to the street with clubs. Too noisy at night.
I am a true fan of the Opposite House. I stay once a year there, when on Business in Beijing. The staff is very helpful and is happy to take care of many issues, which would cost you a lot of time doing yourself, such as printing business cards etc. The rooms are great, with all facilities you want, nice coffee, great music system, free mini-bar. The restaurants and bars are great and you can actually hold many of your meetings at the hotel, as Beijingers like to come to there. The swimming pool is lovely and always empty. And of course the interior design of the Opposite house is outstanding.
