Fantastic views from the hotel room across the river of the pudong skyline. Rooms had an authentic style, like from an historic period. Bar and restaurant opening hours were limited and staff were not particularly helpful with service in these places. |

Nice views. Service in the restaurant was not working very well. Staff did not have knowledge about the other facilities in the hotel. Room was nice but a bit old. |

Staff were very accommodating and were able to assist us despite our lack of chinese language. The only thing we found uncomfortable were the beds, and we thought the showers could have been more powerful, but we still very much enjoyed our stay, and would love to come back when the bund is finished. |

Ideal location, right on the river at the end of the Bund. Walking distance to most attractions in Shanghai The wait staff in the restaurant could use more training; dirty dishes were left on the table well after the meal was completed. Botched the dessert order. |

Location and the city view. Far from the metro, dirty floor coverning, people at the reception not too communicative. |

The rooms overlooking the River offer excellent views of The Bund area and parts of Pudong. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast good choice of both Chinese and European food. The views could be enjoyed much better if the windows were cleaned. Humidity should be expected considering the proximity to the river, however, something should be done about the smell. |

The hotel was ok for the price of a room. The room was quite big and the bathroom too. Both were very clean. The breakfast was ok too. Even though the hotel's location looks excellent on the map, it is not as central as it seems. To get to the centre of the city or to the nearest subway you have to walk quite a bit. And there are many construction sites on the way. However, at the moment it seems that the whole city is one big construction site, so you can pobably not get away from them anywhere. |

Positives: Very cheap given its location right on the north end of the bund, cheap dry cleaning (a suit was around £5), polite and helpful staff and all appropriate staff had good understanding of english. Negatives: Bathroom had areas of rott, the carpets looked like they could use a good cleaning, and the bed was uncomfortable (not firm but just stiff). You get what you pay for. |

nice view looking out at the river, day or night Once they finish the buildings around the Hotel, it will be a nice place to stay, at the moment is too noisy and dirty outside on the streets. Bed too hard, no water pressure in the shower, and on our last day about 8AM builders outside our room hammering the ceiling in the corridor. Staff didn't know where the train station was, only 15 minutes away from the hotel. |

Conveniently located. Staff very accomodating. A promised view room was not delivered. My room needed some maintenance and upgrading. I did not think it was reflective of a 4 star hotel. |

I got a business room, which was excellent. The breakfast was not according to the expectations for a 4-star hotel. There is quite a lot of room for improvement in this area. |
