The location is good, very close to the railway station and quite close to Zhan bridge

The staff was not very friendly but still okay. The only way to reach the first and the second floors is external stairs, which is not very convenient especially in rainy days. The showers are located at the first floor. The shower water work just in the morning and in the evening. Because the family wants to have lunch and dinner with every member, the bar closes everytime for 30/40 minutes and the guests are asked to exit it.

The staff is extremely friendly and competent when it comes to issues regarding your stay at the facility, although they aren't very useful giving recommendations about the city Qingdao... so, come with your own itinerary.

I didn't like that the facility locks it's doors in the evening, making it inconvenient to return back to the hostel after 10, and almost impossible after 12.

plseased with the location and also found the room was clean and tidy.

However, the staff is not as kind as they should be. The owner is a brave man I suppose considering he did all the travelling alone. But I do not think he can act in a nice way as a owner even he might try to. no front desk after ten in the evening. no safebox as the website decribed when I booked the hotel. do not trust what the website tells you. the price we paid is very high comparing with others. you can easliy find a hotel or hostel with a nice bathroom, shower (24/7) around the area at this price. The shower doesnt work 24/7, the only one light in the room was not good enough for reading.wifi was not good. I have travelled around the world, have been to many countries and their youth hostels, and this may be the worst, especially considering its prices.

The house itself is very interesting. They paid a lot of efforts to keep the place clean (most I ever saw in China) and the location is right in the center of the old city part, within walking distance of major sights and the central bus Station to go to other parts of the city, the beach, the mountains and so on.

Although the staff was friendly, it was very difficult to get any information, e.g. about which buses to take to a certain place. Also, the way to the toilets is very long and not so easy to find (down a narrow stair or along some verandas), especially in the night.

The staffs are really friendly and helpful, although some didn't speak English very well. Location is great to explore the city. The best part is the hostel is located exactly at Food Street where we could find all kinds of Qingdao's typical seafoods.

The toilets are squatting. Cleanliness can be improved. At night, the hostel is really boring because the lounge is closed and so no place for us to hang out and meet new people. It was also very minimum lighting outside the rooms, so really.. Nothing to do at the hostel at night.

    - Nice staff, though a bit useless (ex: when we asked how to take the bus to May 4th Square, the answer was "there's many buses") - Clean room - Location is good if you want local street seafood and to see old German buildings, but not close to any other sights in Qingdao (beer brewery, swimming beaches, shopping, cafes, Olympic waterfront, parks, etc)

We would not recommend this hotel!!! - Showers are only available from 5pm to 10am (and even that doesn't guarantee you'll have any hot water!) - Shared toilets are not clean, do not have toilet paper, are co-ed, smell like a men's bathroom, and none of the stall doors lock. Private bathroom reeked of sewage (not uncommon in Asia, but this was by far the worst we've experienced) - There are no lights on the case you want to come home or use the shower or restroom after dark, watch out! - Way too expensive for what they advertise but we didn't get (toilet paper, a desk in the room, cable tv - there was a tv but it wasn't plugged into the wall, nor did the cord even reach!) - We booked a room with a private bathroom on agoda. When we checked in, they requested more money for the room, saying that agoda did not charge us enough for the room. When we refused to pay extra, stating that they created the agoda ad, chose the cost, and we paid it, so we should have the room they sold us, it took over 9 hours to get sorted out (2 hours of which was at the front desk). They wanted either us or agoda to pay it and wouldn't let us check in until it was sorted out. We have been living in hotels across Asia for 5 months and this is the first time this has happened to us!

The design of the Youth Hostel is very nice. You can get a lot of good food right outside the hotel from various street shops. The beach is in walking distance.

The area around the youth hostel might seem too dirty to some visitors.

Staff was super friendly and tried everything to assist us. The hotel is also located very well.

Ok it is cheap and you know before but still I do not like it if the shared bathroom is not clean and additionally not provided with any soap, towells or toilet paper. Furthermore, toilets and showers are often damaged or broken and you can only shower until 10am and then the showers are closed for half of the day. So if you like to feel really comfortable, maybe not this hostel.
