It's easy to find, clean; pragmatic and welcoming English speaking staff was always available. Attic bedroom bed was comfortable, shared bathroom and toilet were spotless at all times. Public areas are cozy; plenty of info on the touristic what-to-do-around-Hangzhou.
Attic bedrooms force you into taking your shower two floors down. Not the best location (roughly 25min walking to reach West Lake, 15 until Ding 'An Street subway station). Kitchen for dinner closes early - at 8PM you'll find plenty of restaurants closeby but you'll find barely any options at the hostel.
Staff extremely helpful. Location, close to beach. Great food choices nearby. Transit routes handy.
Good communication with the hostel straight after booking, with welcome email and directions how to get there. Staff were friendly, helpful and could also speak English (they also humoured my poor attempts at Chinese!). Attic room was small but cosy. Perfect for lone traveller or couple. Big, thick duvets also very welcome! Atmosphere and decor of the place was great. Food was priced ok (cheaper than anywhere nearby), breakfast meal was good. Location is great for both town and West Lake. Wired internet was good, if a little temperamental at times. Wifi in public area was good.
Public areas closed after midnight. Would be nice to have somewhere to hang out after this time. It would also be really inconvenient for anyone relying on Wifi. The two small, thin towels weren't particularly useful. Proper towels would have been good. These were only small gripes...overall the place was excellent and thoroughly recommended.
Very friendly, helpful staff Wifi worked great, power plugs everywhere Cozy communal area Great location, nearby West Lake, Wushan square and Hangzhou train station
The slightly dirty bathrooms Airconditioning in the room wasn't working, so it was freezing cold in the room. I asked for a different room, but it wasn't available. They gave me an extra blanket instead. It was an improvement, but I was still cold which made my stay quite uncomfortable.
Really sweet place. Great room. Breakfast was good too.
Love the atmosphere surrounding...
the location is good, near Wushan Square.
they don't have hot water after 12:00am till 8:00am and we were informed on our arrival. they should let us know earlier.
Nice helpful staff. Location.
Good attention when problems bed good Red painting Location
We didnt have kitchen aids Some personal could improve their english. But they are good, good. Bueno.
The staffs are nice although they are very passive when we need some help. The location is easy to find and it is convenient for us to go Xihu.
The air condition might not work well sometimes. Moreover, it is a little bit expensive for the budget-travellers.
Clean. Friendly. Same as most YHA hostels.
No hot water at 7am. Not a hotel facilities is it?
Zhongshan zhong Rd. is beautiful. And right in the cross with Hefang Street.
Got a room near to the toilet so it was a bit noisy
Easy access to tourist attraction and free luggage storage while we were away to hangzhou
Possibility to do the laundy VERY helpfull and English speaking young lady at the front desk. nice breakfast elevator wifi assistance and tips for trips around
They are very active at 6am doing laudy (noisey). Dont order the fruit breakfast (its with a kind of mayonnaise wich tastes funny)
Nice hostel with comfortable, clean rooms, well situated in the old town, bycicle rental at the hostel, competent staff with good English knowhow, highly recommended
place and rooms, clearly
attic room is so small
Good location, beautiful lobby, friendly staff.
Friendy people, good location, very nice lobby and good English information available. Rooms (attic) were tiny but the price as well;).
Staff very responsive and helpful.
Near a tourist area, clean room..
First time little bit difficult to find, but location is excellent; many restaurants close by, walking distance to the West Lake. Staff speaks sufficient English.
Don't expect a hotel, this is a hostel which has also private rooms.
The staff, so helpful and friendly. The girl on reception even offered to come to the post office with us to help post some belongings home. Relaxed atmosphere Pleasant and clean ensuite room Excellent location
The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful; I'm really grateful to them, they helped me to find the way to the hostel, and their English is really good. The location is perfect, in the ancient streets of Hangzhou. It is quiet and there's a bus line not far from it. The hostel has a nice decoration.
The toilets on the last floor are really small, and the room spartiat, but for one night it's worth the money.
We liked our room. It was quite modern & it was clean. It lacked a clothes rail or wardrobe but we're used to living out a backpack. The staff were really helpful and friendly. They wrote down the information we needed to be able to book bus tickets which makes a difference when your Chinese is limited. It's in a nice location in the main tourist area near the lake. We got public bikes for the day and think we were a bit overcharged by the very grumpy and rude man on the desk. When we went to another bike station and much nicer guy told us what they should have cost. We'd recommend you check with the hotel what the public bikes cost (our understanding is that the first hour is free & it's a different rate for subsequent hours) and argue it!
Not having wifi in the room is a pain. We didn't sleep well but we cannot work out why as the beds were comfortable and the room was fine it might have just been us so unless there is consistent similar feedback, it shouldn't be a concern.
