Location is ok Breakfast is ok Staff is friendly but no English-speakers
It is dirty everywhere Furniture is old and carpets are dirty Rooms are smelling like someone was smoking before
Location. The very center of Xi'an.
Few staffs can speak English.
The location is great - it is about as central as it can get. The entire staff was very friendly, esp. At the reception. The hotel clearly aims at a Chinese clientele, it is very authentic and you will find no western food for breakfast.
The cleanliness of the wet room, specifically the shower cabin, is definitely not adequate to the claimed 4-star classification, I would even hesitate to call this 3-star-like. The room in general has seen better days, the carpet had lots of stains and burn-marks (even though being a non-smoking room). We had a room out to the front (I.E. West street) and the windows do not filter much noise, so it was very noisy until late and starting early again - that's the price for the good location. With ear-plugs it was ok...
Despite all the slavering, fawning obsequiousness, no one on the hotel staff knows what they're doing. We found out on the first morning that no one had bothered to mention to us that the 30 RMB breakfast would be 48 RMB if purchased on the day of breakfast. We requested a 6 a.m. wake-up call for the day of departure, which never came. After breakfast on our departure day, 30 minutes before we were to leave, we found ourselves locked out of our room when the electronic key card failed to work. A second coded key failed to work. The housekeeper's key failed to open the door. A second housekeeper's key failed to open the door. The conventional key was of no use, as no one knew how to access a keyhole, if there was one. Mechanical failures happen. But no one in the hotel--no one--knew how to open the door. And no one seemed to grasp the fact that we had a flight to catch. When the door finally opened (by one last magic wave of the key card) and we had about 2 minutes to spare to make our flight, no one offered transport to the airport. In fact the desk clerk asked us with a wide smile if we would like to sign up for a tour. The most incompetent and infuriating staff we have ever had the displeasure of dealing with--like a bunch of high-school students playing at running a hotel.
We booked this hotel at the last minute because we missed a train connection. The staff were incredibly helpful, the room was great value for money and easily big enough for the extra bed we needed. Right across from the airport bus and next to the Muslim quarter the location is great. I highly recommend them
Laundry service was ridiculously expensive. There was some mould in the shower and a problem with the shutting of the ensuing door.
This hotel is situated in the city centre. Good location for exploring city. I recommend you to book the deluxe room otherwise you will accomodated not in the main building but in the building across the street. The room was spacious and well equipment.
I need to say that when we arrived the personal had a problem to speak in english. But they were helpful. The was only for chinese people. We didn't go for breakfast at all because there was nothing to choice.
