Xi Di Travel Lodge  

The atmosphere of the hotel was great, very traditional with a beautiful dam one the side. We really enjoyed our dinner in the old house, good food and service. Even though extremely little English the restaurant staff where super friendly and helpful. Small but Nice room in the garden. The location is fabulous, couldn't get better but don't expect anyone at the village entrance to show you where the hotel is as they won't, even if you have the address in Chinese. Easy to find though if you know where. It is the building directly behind the archway at the main village entry. Don't bother looking for a hotel sign as there is none. Reception is on the right, oath wise you would not know it is a hotel.

The reception staff on checkin where not very helpful, although he following day a really helpful lady with a little English. The beds are rock hard so be prepared. This is a major drawback if you are not used to the solid Chinese beds. Very difficult to sleep

.The double bed room was large and spacious. .The hotel is very big, very well located in the village, and very nice.

.The floor of the bed room was dirty (due to the dust and the type of floor not well adapted (black stone))...becareful to not get your towel dirty or you will have to pay. .Very poor english, and lobby not so sympathic and helpful .Very poor Wifi, very slow even in the lobby where you can only have access.

Bien que la ville( Xidi ) soit classée au patrimoine de l' UNESCO, le site est souillé par la pollution et les déchets abandonnés par les centaines d'étudiants en beaux arts qui viennent peindre tous les jours les jolis petites rues, heureusement l’hôtel, lui est très propre.

C'est un endroit assez extraordinaire, à la fois la Région mais surtout le village qui offre une expérience unique à toute personne intéressée par la Chine ancienne. Le cadre est vraiment magique, puisque le Lodge se situe à l'entrée du village, et occupe une partie des locaux initialement dédiés à l'Administration de ce village (l'équivalent d'un Hôtel de ville). Nous avons eu la chance d'occuper une chambre du bâtiment principal, qui donne sur la Grand-Place , avec vue sur le plan d'eau, le village et le portique décoratif en pierre. Il faut néanmoins accepter de se lever tôt, car les visites touristiques débutent vers 8h. Je déconseille aussi de s'y rendre en été (chaleur / nombreux touristes). Bonne période: printemps et automne.

Le responsable de l'hôtel était particulièrement attentionné au bien être de ses clients. Très bel hôtel dans un lieu paisible et historique.

Une cuisine chinoise ok mais qui pourrait être un peu plus savoureuse.

a very, very nice hotel in the old city. all in the ancient style, the rooms are very nice and very quiet. the place of the little city is quiet and beautiful. we enjoyed our stay and can only recommend this place.

nobody is speaking at least a little bit english....but anyway, the staff was helpful and the people of the little town too. you really don't miss anything

Hôtel très agréable, proche de lieux historiques. Personnel très serviable. Restaurant dans un beau cadre.

Belle salle de bain mais la partie douche devrait être séparée du lavabo pour plus de confort et de sécurité (prise électrique).

In the center of picturesque Xidi.

Electricity failed many times in the first night until we asked to be moved to a room in a different part of the hotel, where power stayed on. They moved us but to a downgraded room, even though the hotel was nearly empty. Western breakfast wasn't an option and Chinese breakfast was very basic compared to other hotels. There were absolutely no options in the area for dinner except one street food grill outside the hotel

Very basic breakfast - worst of our trip to China, staff were not friendly or helpful. And Xidi itself was such a disappointment - I personally would not recommend coming here, especially in Winter, when everything is closed....

De ligging is fantastisch. Een uniek verblijf in historisch gebouw. Het personeel spreekt weinig Engels, maar is zeer behulpzaam. Een aanrader om Xidi te bezoeken.

Bestes Hotel im ganzen Ort!

Nur chinesisches Frühstück ( westliches nur gegen Aufpreis )!

Xidi Travel Lodge is a very nice hotel, well located at the entrance of the village of Xidi. The manager speaks really good english and is very helpful if needed. The hotel is clean and quiet. The breakfast is OK, and the food they serve (I had lunch once) is also good.
