Very close to People's Square with plenty of restaurants and metro station Room was small but confortable Nice bar but with narrow timetable
Staff was a bit rude and couldn't speak proper English A bit dark atmosphere due to its hidden location No way to have early breakfast or late dinner in the bar of the hostel
My stay was ok, in a female dorm and all my roomies were polite and quiet. One of them brought her two adorable rabbits! Location is good, if you want to stay in a touristy area. Nice personell!
The bathroom and shower room was a bit cold with dirty floors. Didn't like that I had to walk outside to go to the toilet brrrr.
- The location, once you found the hostel -The lounge
-Bring your own toilet paper if you don't want to ask for it at the reception every time you need it -Very dark hostel, lights almost useless -No tours, no train ticket booking -The surroundings are not particlaur forgeigner friendly if you don't speak chineses
Location is perfect, building atmosphere perfect, good value food, helpful and friendly staff
Bed was a bit uncomfortable
The stuffs are friendly.I arrived late in the midnight and my book was cancelled but they still helped me to find a room to sleep.when speaking of the room I like the bed which is soft(well not everyone like like kind of bed)the public area is quite and beautiful. Moreover the location is very good.there is a subway station(Renming Park Station)nearby.the Nanjing Road is nearby too.I just walked along the Nanjing Road to the amazing Bund.
Water is not so hot especially late at night.the light in the room is quite dark.
wifi, can`t access.
Nice restaurant/bar, good location close to people square.
Unless you're desperate to save money, better stay in a hotel than a hostel in Shanghai. The double room we got at this hostel had mold all over the walls and had a terrible humid/moldy smell. The shared bathroom looked pretty dirty. The girl who checked in at the same time as us found cockroaches in her room. The service at reception was so terrible that it was funny. A cheap hotel deal would have been a better option.
Beautiful and well-equipped hostel.
Even though there were like 20 networks covering the entire hostel area, the connection absolutely sucked and most of time did not work at all.
ideal location right in the heart, but in a quite alley.very clean and well organized
Location is excellent as it is located near the main metro station. The common parts are very nice, though the price of the drinks are quite high.
The bad point is really the cleaning of the room, and especially the shared bathroom.
good location - 5 mins walk from 人民廣場mtr station budget price for acceptable accommodation
unstable wifi network old mattress water leaked from the showering area and the floor of the toilet became all wet...
The location is excellent, must admit that's just about the only thing positive about this hostel. Close to the main interchange station People's Square that's super busy and also close to interesting food street Huang He Lu. Also, if you want to walk to the bund, you can, just don't lose sight of the iconic tower.
Everything else was dreadful. The first twin bed room I was in smelled of mildew and everything needed a new coat if paint and new furnishings. The mattress springs poked my body, the tv had no remote and only one channel that was viewable. The furniture is utterly shabby everywhere. I then moved to a dorm and it was equally bad. The toilets are way too small. They stinge even on toilet paper and did not provide any. One had to go to the reception. They stinge on hot water and it is only available between certain periods of the day. They stinge on electricity and if you wanted to switch on the aircon, you had to go to the reception to get a remote control. This would be easy if only the receptionists were nice. The girl with glasses and long hair was very rude when I tried to ask if I can check in early and they take so long to handle the payments for the people in front of my queue. Totally hated staying here. Disgustingly dirty.
It's an ok hostel.great location for sightseeing. Nice bar.
Room smelled musty, wifi doesn't work in room
Located in the city center, very easy to walk to some of the major sightseeing spots and good shopping & dining opportunities. Nice staff and good overall atmosphere.
The room was quite small &the wifi did not work everywhere.
not expensive bar
wifi didn't work
Clean room. Good location, near of the centre. Wi-fi only in the restaurant, or near of it.
Is difficult for find, but the people in the street are friendly and indicate me.
this hostel is located in the middle of Shanghai, so every worth seeing places are very close.
Unfortunately the quality of the wi-fi is very poor, rooms are very small and due to the low quality of sewage it is not allowed to dispose of toilet paper to the toilets.
Clean and good location. Personel could be better- they speak english but not that good. good bar. clean shared bathroom
slow wifi- like in most places in china. not very helpful personel. HI hostels are usually better
Fluent english speaker staff, experienced, chinese decoration and bar/restaurant. AC
Shared bathroom (we did not know it but it is writen, our bad) Old mattress Not enough light in room or not powerfull enough.
Wonderful location, very close to the metro station. MK
Old and dusty furniture. Dark room and bathroom.
They have western food.
They made a mistake and cancelled my double room reservation. When I got there they only offered a bed in a female dorm with a 5¥ discount, quite ridiculous. Part of the staff was nice but some others were almost angry with the situation.
The location was central.
Dirty bathrooms and toilets. They did not change the waste baskets enough, therefore they smelt a lot. The rooms were not very clean, and the mattress was old and not very comfortable. The staff were a bit cold. There were a lot of Chinese people who were working staying there, they were all lovely, but if you want to meet other travellers it might not be the best place.
very helpful staff and nice location
Toilets were dirty - no tissue paper in the toilets - you gotta take them from a dispenser outside the toilet
The common areas were very nice also the furniture of the room was nice.
The staff was very rude and not helpfull, also the rooms were kind of dirty and the mattress was terrible, at least the one in our room, they should be replaced. Also the courtains are not thick enough to cover the light. Don´t expect to sleep after 5am cause the street outside is very noisy. You have to beg for a clean towell and toilet paper.
