The room was very cold at night. AC too noisy to switch on. Corridors too long to walk to your room. It is a hotel more for the locals. Environment around hotel not too good. Quite a walk to the metro station. On check in my credit card was blocked for more than the amount of my whole stay of 13 nights as a deposit. Checked out after the 3rd night. |

Staff was very courteous and cooperative. Rooms were very clean. The exchange rate offered was much below what other equally good and big hotels offered me in China.Every other hotel I stayed in Beijing or wuhan offered me the official rate of excahnge whereas this hotel offered more tahn 4% less. |

Good hotel and good location. Metro station (Laoximen) is guite near and Yun's Garden and bazar very near. Staff at hotel is very friendly and cleaning is very good! |

on check in we were told the restaurant was open till 9.30. whan we went down @ 9.15 we were told that it was closed. whan we complained twice to reception one of them said we coukd get a taxi to the nearest mc donalds. after this we dedided to cut short our stay there and checked out the next morning. also the breakfast buffet was horrible. ornage juice was really orange cordial. coffee was undrinkable. i can safely say this is the worst hotel i have stayed in. |

Staff are friendly and professional as compared to other equal catagory hotels in China. Next to the hotel and under the same management, there is an excellent Chinese restautrant that has very high quality Chinese foods even by North American standards. |

The price is good. Near the Old Town. The Credit Card was charge 2 times for deposit, 1 time for preautorisation and 1 time for chek-out. 10 days after chek-out the balance of my credit card is not OK. |

In general, I liked it. The hotel stuff was helpful. The room was clean. Unlike in a number of other Chinese hotels, the proicedure of check-in and check-out as well as money exchange was very fast. The location is superb - it is difficult to find a better location in Shanghai for this money. |

Very clean and nice staff. Mostly local Chinese people who stays in the hotel. Nearby Yuyuan Garden. A lot of taxi drivers don't know where the hotel is, also with a hotel card with address in Chinese. |

Good clean room, comfortable room, bathroom excellent with great shower, huge choice at breakfast, tasty food For a tourist stay in Shanghai, the hotel is slightly further away from the key shopping centre and the Bund area than some of the city's hotels, although it is definately still in the city centre |

The hotel is 20 min walk from the river side and the shoping centers. It is clean and comfortable. This is not a 4 star hotel by European standards, more like a 3 star. The breakfast was very poor. |

Check-in and check-out - very efficient. Front desk staff very helpful and courteous. Services at the coffee house quite poor and some staff are quite rude especially the staff manning the noodles and egg station. Spoke in very unfriendly tone and no smile!!! Even for the staff collecting the cutlery showed unhappy face. Probably they are overworked!!!! |

A comfortable, efficiently run hotel. Good location for shopping in old town. Whist the traditional food in the restaurant is excellent, if 'international' food is required, this is generally not available. Also, towards the end of breakfast serving time, staff were too eager to clear restaurant. |

It was our second time at this hotel, everything was fine. Porter speaks English much better then girl on the reception. All our problems were solved with his help, no assistance with our questions from girl on the reception. |
