My favourite town in Colombia, I was supposed to stay 2 nights but added 2 more and could have stayed longer as well. The town is beautiful, people are very nice and welcoming, many amazing restaurants with veggie options as well, and plenty activities to do in the surrounding area.

Barichara is a hidden gem, one of my favorite towns in Colombia! It is a bit difficult to get to (being a 3.5 hour drive from the nearest airport in Bucaramanga), but once you are there is is divine! So clear, well-maintained, safe! There is lots to do, from hiking the Camino Real to various extreme sport excursions (paragliding, canyoning, white water rafting, etc.). But you could also just relax and meander through this charming town which feels like it is from another century. There are so many amazing restaurants, and the service is top-notch. Barichara is a very pretty and safe town small town. There are plenty of restaurants, hotels, and shops but it could use a few more points of interest. ( the paper “factory “ is great) Every person I had contact with was very pleasant, patient,and professional. It is a 100% tourism driven town and they do it right. The Tuc-Tucs are a great way to get around town. Be sure to take in the view from the Mirador. If you walk El Camino Real be sure to stop at “ the juice house !”

Barichara is a small and very beautiful pueblo style town. You can walk the town in one day but there are several things you can do like taking a 5km walk to guane, learn to make paper, learn to paint with natural soil sediments, go horseback riding and eat delicious foods. The people are nice and courteous, they don't price gouge tourists wrongly. Very scenic and beautiful.DavidColombia

They kept in touch even before my arrival and helped me to organize the trip from Bogotá to the hostel! It's a great place to hang out and relax. I found the transport to Barichara pretty relaxed. You can either walk to the main road for 15 minutes and take a bus that runs frequently or pay a bit more for a tuktuk to take you right from the hostel.JuliaGermany
