This place is in the right place at El Poblado. The staff was very helpful and provide a lot of help. We have a family room which provide comfort to the whole members.
They have some nice dogs rounding around but I am allergic so it was no nice for me.
The location, proximity to bars and restaurants but also a lovely low rise leafy street.
Good breakfasts but if you don't like French toast bananas and maple syrup too bad. Also a bit noisy being on the road side.
This B&B in the Poblado district was very well situated, close to some wonderful restaurants and within walking distance to metro. Lovely breakfasts each morning with freshly made juices. Staff very helpful in providing information and making arrangements for touring. Felt very safe. Stayed 5 mights in December, 2014.
Location, staff and services and overall value for money
My room had no tv but there is a good communal area with tv.
First, the prices are unbeatable! The location a few blocks from Parque Lleras made it a winner...dozens of restaurants from Thai to Tex-Mex to French to Hindu, some small and quaint others great party places like 2 for 1 happy hours (think Tex-Mex), others sophisticated for small intimate dinners. It is located in a lush green area perfect for walking around and exploring shops. Natalie, the owner, is a native of New York but her family is Colombian. She 'gets' Americans. Great hostess and inspiration behind a different tasty breakfast every day. Spot-on clean, immaculate rooms and each room has a snack box to dip in for late- night snacks plus a beverage center w/coke, beer, juice and sports drinks. A buck is the going price. Beer $2. Very well-equipped kitchen which is open for guests to use. Rooms are cleaned thoroughly each day with fresh linens and towels. There is no downside!
I told Nat my pillows were a bit hard and she replaced them with super soft ones.
A different breakfast was served every morning and was always outstanding.
The walk to the Poblado Metro station is somewhat far.
> amazing staff providing perfect tips on this awesome city, friendly and extremely helpful > location is superb, in the heart of El Poblado > comfortable and spacious rooms > excellent value for money
Natalie was extremely helpful and made excellent suggestions. Great breakfast. Fantastic location.
Excellent location, clean, and relatively comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff, and very accommodating. We had 2 days in Medellin, and with the help and assistance of everyone, they were 2 excellent days well-spent.
The bathroom was plugged with vomit, but that goes with the territory of sharing the space with backpackers. Would have been good to have shampoo and soap in the bathroom.
Nice and helpfull staff. Good location for exploring this brilliant city.
feeling like home ! a house in Poblado, nice neighbourhood ! large room, clean and good breakfast, nice friendly staff !
Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location - we would stay here again.
It's was clean! Which was the biggest thing for us. Our host Natalia was very helpful and informative even though we asked a lot of questions. She own 2 dogs, Ramona and Nina and Ramona was great! A very friendly and smart dog one of the highlights of our stay. Good location Breakfast was very good
The beds creaked a lot which made it difficult to sleep
Natalie was very helpful, although we had only one day to explore medellin, providing us with a visit plan right away.
Overall I had a fantastic experience! Tamarindo B&B was very clean and very comfortable! The location was excellent! The complimentary breakfast was great! The freshly squeezed juice with breakfast every morning was a nice touch! Hotel staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable! Fluent in English and Spanish! Overall 10 out of 10!
Apart from the great location, what really makes this B&B is the staff. Natalie at the front desk was enormously helpful with everything, always on hand to give us advice, suggestions and great restaurant recommendations.
Not much, it was very comfortable. It would have been nice to have a mirror in the bedroom for getting ready.
The owner of the hotel Natalie is by far the best, we ever met, she takes care for all you need. She gave us the feeling like we are at home. While reserving the room at booking.com, she had only a double or a room for four with private bathroom. We were 3 people and we ordered the room for 4, paying a little but more. After I wrote a mail to her, she put especially for me a triple room on booking.com, so I can reserve it and give up the other, giving it to me for a better price. The location is good in a safe neighborhood, near to many restaurants and bars. We recommend this hostel to everybody. If you want to feel in Colombia like at home, this is the right place.
I felt like I was home.
the volume of cars coming and going is annoying and there are droning helicopters in the morning.
Natalie was very friendly, patience and helpful. Every morning you get a different breakfast with a different tropic juice.
Great location and staff are great.
Wifi didn't work well in the room.
Beatiful rooms, great showers, very friendly owner and good breakfast.
The location of this B&B is excellent - Poblado is the most affluent area of Medellín, and the hotel is close to Parque Lleras, where you will find a pretty square and plenty of places to eat. It is also a 15 minute walk from the metro, which will take you to most touristic places you might want to go to. Natalia, Ramiro and Gladys were extremely friendly and helpful - Natalia speaks English and will give you any help and advice that you need. They also have two dogs which will greet you whenever you're around! The garden is very pretty, and if you're in the double room with a private bathroom, you can look out of the window and see all of the beautiful birds which come to eat and drink there. There's also a communal sitting area where you can bird-watch. I really enjoyed this, and if you go on Tamarindo Hostels' Facebook page, which Natalia showed me, you can see the names of all the different birds! There isn't really a choice for breakfast - we were given arepas with egg and cheese the first day, and a delicious french toast with banana and maple syrup the second day. Tea and coffee is self-service, and we were also given juice. This was a nice breakfast for the price. The bed was comfortable, the shower was amazing, lovely and hot with a strong pressure. I would stay at the Tamarindo B&B again
The double room with the private bathroom that we stayed in was a bit damp, and you could smell this a bit, but opening the window for ventilation helps (although you have to be careful not to let in mosquitoes). The television's image was a bit temperamental, but not a big problem as we weren't there to watch TV. The main issue was that the first night we found it difficult to sleep because the room was cold and damp. The bed is only made with a single sheet and thin blanket. When you go to sleep, and after the sun has risen in the morning, the room feels warm, but during the night it gets cold and one sheet and blanket was not enough - we kept waking up throughout the night feeling cold. There were no spare blankets in the cupboard, and no-one available during the night that we could ask for one. However, the next day we got two extra blankets from the staff and we slept much better the second night. I would recommend that anyone staying in this room asks for the extra blankets upon arrival, just in case. We used the towels provided to cover the bed to try to get extra warmth during the first night, but one of the towels had a huge hole in it - you could use it to dry yourself, but I would never offer a towel like that to guests, so that was a bit disappointing. All in all though, the positives did outweigh the negatives considering the price we were paying, and I would stay again.
Great location and staff
needed more attention to ground floor rooms due to humidity
