friendly staff, great location

Great couple Yolanda and her husband. Very helpful and welcoming. Nice place up a hill from studenty area which is alive in the evenings, good place to hang out with a beer wnd soak up the atmosphere.

Shared bathroom a bit limited and can be difficult to get into of a night. Easily fixed so no problem really.

Some notes about the hostel: -The staff are fantastic. They will go out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need, and that you enjoy your stay at the hostel. -I was told by several people--taxi drivers, the staff at the hostel, etc.--what I knew already: the Candelaria is a dangerous place at night. If you can, get back to the hostel fairly early. If you will be returning to the hostel late at night, plan to take a taxi (it is better to call one than to get one on the street at night). -The hostel did not meet the licensing requirements to sell food, so although they have a kitchen, they cannot offer meals. Plan to eat in the Candelaria or elsewhere. -Contrary to other reviewer's comments, the showers _do_ have hot water. Here's the secret: the on-demand water heater in the shower head can't heat all of the water if you turn it on full blast. Turn on the water until you hear the water heater turn on. Then, turn down the water as much as you can while assuring that the heater is still on.

On my last night there, there was a middle-aged couple (a Colombian man and a European or American woman) smoking and drinking beer in the courtyard when I arrived back at the hostel around 11:30. I politely informed them that quiet hours started at 10:00 pm, and asked them if they would mind if I turned out the light in the courtyard. They said 'no problem' and agreed to lower their voices. Despite having told me this, they remained in the courtyard talking and smoking. At about 12:15 I told them 'hey guys, it's 12:15 and I'm trying to sleep.' They took the hint and went into their room, where they then proceeded to speak in normal voices. I enlisted the aid of one of the hostel staff around 12:30, and listened from my room as the Colombian talked loudly with the staff member, accusing me of thinking that I was a king because I came from the us, that Colombia is a loud country, that I did not understand the culture of Colombia, that when in another country you have to accept the culture of that country, that this was not a five-star hotel, etc. In short, he was indignant that he was being told that he had to stop making noise, in spite of the many posted signs asking that guests respect quiet hours starting at 10:00 pm. I hope that this experience was an anomaly, and that the guests you share the hostel with are more respectful of the house rules, because the hostel is a very economic place to stay, in a cool building, with a great staff.

It is a conveniently situated really small hostel.

There was no breakfast, except coffee included.

Yolanda and her husband were a good couple and I have only good things to say about them !! But they should put a sign by the street so travellers know, I took a taxi from the airport and he had a hard time finding it, he was on the right street but it was a fluke that we found it !! and it cost me a pretty penny for that ride !!

The owner was really friendly although did not speak a word of English. Great location. Courtyards are nice. Very cheap

The showers were cold which isn't all that great considering how cold Bogota is, toilets always blocked, rooms cold (although we had lots of blankets), owner didn't speak any English.

L ubicacion esta muy buena nel corazon del barrio de la Candelaria.

L'abitacion doble es por una persona, tan pequena que tu non sabe donde tener bolsas. La gerente dice que non se puede regresar despues le 12pm porque ellas nnd trabaja hasta la madrugada. No se puede conseguir llave de l hostal! El dia del check out la gerente fui muy agresiva porque nosotros salimos de l abitacion. Ella quieria l abitacion a las 11 quando el check out es por le 12. Staff muy malo

Sehr freundliche, familiäre Atmosphere. Bett mit sehr vielen warmen Decken (dringend notwendig in Bogota). Sehr motivierte, serviceorientierte Gastgeber. Sauber und sehr günstig. Gute Lage, ruhig und sicher. Schönes Gebäude.

Dusche mittelmäßig (wenig warm, keine gute Umziehmöglichkeit),Fernseher nicht angeschlossen. Eben einfach.

El hostal esta muy bien ubicado en un lugar muy tranquilo del centro histórico. La pareja que trabaja es muy acogedora y amable, ayuda para cualquier cosa que el viajero puede buscar (restaurantes tipicos, bares, museos, esmeraldas...). Los jugos que se sirven son sabrosos y la conexión internen funciona muy bien.

Lo mejor, la familia encargada del Hostal. Te ayudan con todo, son muy amables.

Yolanda y su esposo me hicieron sentir en familia, un lugar acojedor y lo mejor principios cristianos por lo que lo recomiendo .

La atención es muy cordial, ayudando en todo lo que uno necesita, desde ubicaciones de lugares hasta las contextualizaciones en los usos del país. La ubicación es perfecta, siendo el barrio La Candelaria un lugar estratégico para recorrer la ciudad. Las instalaciones son confortables y cuentan con todo lo necesario para una estadía más que agradable.

El trato del personal, siempre atentos y con buena actitud.

Los baños podrian mejorarse.

la chambre est propre, un petit patio sympa

Nous devions parler tout bas meme dans la chambre car on entend absolument tout d'une chjambre a l'autre puisqu'elle communiquent par le patio . Pour pouvoir entrer a minuit , il nous a fallu negocier longuement ...sinon , maximum 23heures ou on nous laisse dehors .. Nous sommes partis au bout de 2 jours car meme en avisant a 12 heures nous devions payer la nuit suivante

-Staff was warm and friendly -- they even worried about me when I was out late one night which I found sweet given how dangerous Bogotá can be. -Wifi internet signal was reliable, except for Facetime/Skype/streaming videos.

-The hostel itelf is a crowded with too many pieces of furniture to the point that you feel like you're stumbling over items all the time. -The communal bathroom is a bit dingy and could use some work. -Rooms are small. -The bed was comfortable but the foam mattress was wrapped in a thick plastic cover which was not so pleasant to sleep on. -Would recommend this place because it's good deal and the staff is kind, but the accomodations are fairly basic.

La amabilidad de quienes atienden.

El espacio de la habitación era muy reducido. éSta se encontraba en el patio, con muchas cosas alrededor (botes de basura y demás objetos). Los baños compartidos tenían poco espacio y privacidad. La cama estaba envuelta en una cubierta de plástico que la hacía incómoda y caliente.

El lugar es bastante acogedor.

Tal vez el personal entra demasiado en el fanatismo relogioso y en los comentarios homofobicos que tal vez puede llevar a futuras molestias.
