The location is perfect, the hostel has everything you need and the staff is super friendly.
The beds and pillows are a bit hard and the rooms are noisy. The common area is cold during the evening/nights.
- Really nice and helpful staff - great European breakfast (Muesli, wholegrain toast) - rooms (double room) - neighborhood - free coffee and tea - chill-out area
- sometimes missing hot water
Great location, very helpful staff.
Location commodities staff etc had a great time
If you would search like an elder person a nice hostal in Bogota have a look for another one. I was missing the soul and the love of the latins.
The location is good, close to Plaza de Bolívar, the supermarket and lots of bars.
The staff was a little unfriendly at times and acted like they were not interested in their job. We stayed in a private room, the bed wasn't very comfortable. It got quite cold in the room and the rest of the hostal in general.
The owner of the hostel is lovely and the hostel is kept very clean. The included breakfast was simple (toast, cereal, coffee) but a nice touch and I personally think people should appreciate this for what it is not complain about a free meal
Beds were not the most comfortable we've slept in and the powerpoint in our room didn't work but there were others around the place to use instead.
Nice and helpfull staff.
Loud music near the dorm beginning at 8 am. Isolation could be better, but is probably not better in other hostels in candelaria.
Dorm really close to the street get real noisy early in the morning
Location Common areas Very clean
Bed is too narrow Not enough hot water
The location was fairly good. The price was ok.
The manager was strange. She thought helping her guests was not her real job. She was even quite impolite, she pulled a cheap black and white copy of the city map out of my hands in order not to give one extra map. She was speaking very loud with her staff at 6 in the morning without any consideration towards the sleeping guests. The rest of the staff was nice but they didn't have much clue about the city and colombia. The atmosphere was really cold, far away from being comfy. It was so cold in the guesthouse that one needs to go out to get warmer. The breakfast was very poor. Slices of bread with only cheap marmalade and cheap cornflakes. The coffee was very bad, tea was not even tasting like tea. The toilets were quite clean in the morning and evening but extremely dirty during the day. Overall if I go back to bogota, I would rather try to find a more cosy and friendly hostel.
Low cost Good wifi Nice common room Free (ok) coffee
Cell like room Very basic Very noisy
Very good location, nice common dareas and friendly staffs, specially Bob, the dog (lol). They helped us to arrange tours and, by the way, we loved the Bike Tour. We really recommend it.
Shared bathroons, but for the price it's fine.
Great location near the main square. Own room for budget price.
Our basic double room was spacious with a big bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped. Not a bad location, supermarkets and a lovely square near-by with good restaurants.
Well, there seems to be an overall lack of organisation in this hostel and the owner is extremely busy (and stressed out) all the time, there is a serious need for a helping hand! The was plenty of little things that needed fixing, like the lock on our door and perhaps an upgrade is due in the common area, which at the moment doesn't allow much interaction with the guests. In truth, the atmosphere was quite off-ish when we visited... Breakfast was super basic.
I love the place whe the Hostel is, I love the Hostel, their things, their services, their people and the ower is a really nice gurl, the place is kind'a retro so it is very cool, living that experience in the Martinik Hostel, alsoo i can say i made some friends there. i am planning right now the date for come back!!
Location was good. Security pretty good. Had to be let in and out by a member of staff.
Staff at this hostel were terrible. When we first checked in we were shown a map of Bogota and told everywhere was safe, then, a couple of hours later we overheard someone else being checked in and told by a different member of staff that there are certain areas that you should avoid because it's not safe - lucky we heard that really. Also, the lady that works there (we think the manager) is ridiculous. She walks around shouting and swearing all the time and is extremely rude to guests (and other members of staff) at the hostel. The hostel is freezing cold as there does not seem to be any heating at all. The beds were rock solid and very uncomfortable. The website claims that the hostel has 'steaming hot showers 24 hrs' - this is not true, they are hot for about a minute then ice cold for about 3 minutes. 'Breakfast' was the worst breakfast I've seen anywhere that offers a breakfast. It consisted of bread left out uncovered to go stale (with flies on it) and jam.
I like the place, the security and the kindness of Sophie :)
Staff were great. Lots of activities and information available Breakfast was an added bonus
Electric showers do not work properly. In my three month trip through South America I have not come across one that did
Staff were so friendly and helpful. Its a great vibe there. Fun but also courteous of others. Great wifi. Book swap. Great info and advise on what to do around Bogota.
Hot water could have been better. But the same issue seems to be evereverywhere we stay in south america
It's great when there's not too many guests. Centrally located and well maintained. Great friendly helpful staff especially Francy.
Too many guests turned the place into a loud, noisy party place.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The 10 bed dorm is next to a noisy street
Nice friendly and knowledgeable stuff. Good hearty breakfast. Conveniently located near everything. Clean toilets.
Common areas are near rooms and tend to be quite noisy with the wrong kind of inconsiderate guests. Hot showers a bit funky.
