Location was terrific. Hotel was clean. Breakfast good. Room was small, but you wanted for nothing. Four rooms with small balconies were best.

Could spruce up the roof deck a bit.

We stayed at this hotel the last week of July 2014. I choose this hotel after reading an online review from someone with special dietary needs and how they were met. Our son is on a restrictive diet (no gluten, casein or soy) and traveling poses many challenges. So to find a place where we knew in advance that someone knows about diets and is willing to accommodate them was a real blessing. I liked the special care and attentiveness of owner Sylvia in accommodating our son's special needs. She bought almond milk especially for him and was helpful in giving tips on where to look for healthy, organic foodstuffs. It's a pity they only serve breakfast, I would have loved if they could have cooked us lunch and dinner too! The rooms were kept very clean. There is good quality free wifi with two desktop pc's in the public area. This is a big plus since I had some work to finish that would have been impossible to review on our mini-tablet. There is a nice rooftop terrace but on our stay there it was way too hot to spend any time there during the day. It's a good thing the rooms have AC, because the week we were there, the temperature would rise to 30+ C at noon. It is a good place for those that do not like big bustling hotels.Nice and very friendly staff. It helps to know some Spanish! This was our first time in Medellin and our stay at the In House helped make it a nice experience.

At first we were very disappointed with the size of the room! We had expected this family room to have 3 beds, but that turned out to be a misunderstanding on our part. Still, it is a rather small room for 4 people, 2 of which are very active kids. Our street-side room was also verrrry noisy, especially around the weekend (we got there on a Friday). Or it's just because we're country folk not used to this much traffic beneath our windows :) This is not a hotel for lounging around. It is nice if you just want somewhere to return to at the end of a long day exploring the city (when you're so tired that nothing can bother you from falling asleep). I agree with the reviewers who say that the rooms in the back are a better choice (and offer a better view too). Weeknights were much less noisy. Other than this, we did not find anything wrong with this place.

We spent four night in Medellín in this phantastic hotel. The stuff is very friendly and helpful, the room is very comfortable and the shower cabin huge. The hotel is located in an uphill section of El Poblado, close to all the nice restaurants/caffees and other hotels. (It is a 15min walk downhill to the metro, howerever, on the way home one could always grab a cab for less than 3euros). And the location is far nicer than close to the metro. Further, the bar area (Lleras park) is just a couple of blicks away. And finally, Medellín is an amazing amazing city. The In House is a great place to start your discovery from.

Rooms are very comfortable and each seems to have its own router which gives a consistent, strong wifi connection. Tasty breakfast. Staff always was willing to accommodate a request or engage in a friendly conversation.

The location; the staff; the safety of the neighborhood

One out of the five days we stayed there, there was loud music noise coming from a bar nearby. Fortunately, the music stopped around 11:00 pm. We were able to sleep through the night as well as the other nights.

Great location, great room, Great breakfast, very kind staff (a person came to our table to introduce ourselves during breakfast and gave us some recommendations about the city)

Nothing to mention. However, if management does not mind, I'd like to give an advice: it's not really the best to make guests pay on arrival. I don't really mind; however, I suppose that some other 'touchy' guests may pay attention to this gesture

The location is great and they had hot sauce for breakfast.

The woman at the front desk, be ready to pay way more at check in than what you booked for online. The shower is terrible, if you charge $100 a night you should have a working shower. You get a trickle of water thats either scalding or freezing. I live in Colombia so I expect more from a hotel in Poblado where there is absolutely no excuse for not having high pressure and reliable temperature. Overall not worth the money!

    everything

The only "hiccup" was that the water temperature in the shower was very difficult to regulate--either scaldingly hot or cold--very hard to get it just right. I reported the problem, and by now it might well be fixed.

Great location with restaurants and boutiques very nearby in a quirky zone in Poblados. Spacious rooms with a double set of floor to ceiling sliders allowing light but diminishing exterior noise. They also could arrange airport pickup.

Our rainfall shower head didn't work and could only use the hand wand. But it was a nice large shower stall.

I like the location, room perfect side, barroom big , in general I like it. Service was really good. The staff was helpful with advice. The Poblado has a lot of restaurants and they where with quality . You can find different prices high to lows.

The beds where hard for me , but I love soft beds some people like it that way. Wasn't to big deal. I recommend it. Low pressure in the shower .

Great location in the heart of El Poblado. Light, bright room (despite being in the basement) with private terrace. Room and bathroom were very clean and modern. A couple of the staff (including we think the owner) spoke great English and all were very helpful. Breakfast the second day was very good - best scrambled eggs we've had in Colombia!

Lots of quite strident signs at reception and in the room eg we're not responsible for your valuables, no smoking, you're only allowed one serving of fruit at breakfast (!) etc - all fair enough but too many signs which don't set the most welcoming tone. Also one of the receptionists although generally nice was really poor at making eye contact and saying hello when you came into the hotel from being out. She kind of sat looking at her screen and only spoke if you spoke to her. A small thing, but friendly staff make all the difference. The lady at breakfast did make up for it though by being very friendly.

Excellent hotel. I think all the good comments say it all. Kind and helpful staff with the tips. Near many good restaurants and bars. Maybe the safest barrio on top of it.

Provenza, the part of this barrio, is a little bit high up, so going down to the metro and mainly climbing up again from the metro can be an exhausting walk after a big day. Doing it everyday was the worst part of staying there in Medellin, but you see it isn't so a big deal after all. Enjoy your stay in Medellin!

The only good thing is the location and the small patio.

$80-120 for this hotel is really not worth. I really can't understand how you can charge that much for what is offered. There is mold smell, hard rock mattress on the bed(was promised to be changed but it never was), the shower was clogged too... Plus could stop being so cheap with the breakfast for what they charge.. I hate when you have to pay so much and you can't even see the worth for that, but the opposite...that the owners are so hungry for money and don't care for customer satisfaction at all.

The location is excellent and every room has it's own wifi; although they had to restart the circuit breaker several times. Not all the rooms have a patio, but we did and it was nice; not wow, but with a table and four chairs so you can eat there.

If you have VISITORS you have to pay COP50.000 for each of them; the room was very ugly with green painted walls the BED was very very UNCONFORTABLE, hard like a rock(we couldn't sleep all night because of this); the SMELL is bad like MOLD so every time you enter the room it hits you, i really don't think it's safe for your health; TOO EXPENSIVE for the serviced offered; for $70 we stayed in Medellin in 4-5 stars hotels; very poor breakfast(e.g. scrambled eggs are not mixed with anything else; for what they charge, sometimes even $100 a night, at least you expect they would not be so cheap and buy some ham and cheese); the shower was clogged.. I really don't think anyone should pay more than $40/night for the services offered.
