WIFI got congested and slow at some times of day, hard to make VOIP calls from my smartphone (not such problem in Bogota). I did not like the same variety of eggs for breakfast (hotel should include other egg dishes not just scrambled eggs every day).
It was also annoying that the housekeeper kept knocking on the door every 20-30 minutes asking if she can make up the room even after we told her we would go out at such and such hour. This kept happening every day.
The hairdryer in the room was quite weak (potency) it took my daughter 90 minutes to dry her hair.
Perfect location in Laureles for dining out (hundred restaurants within 5 minute walking distance), 10 minute walk to Metro, 2 blocks away from Carulla (supermarket) and pharmacy. Check out Crepes & Waffles located 3 blocks away down on Av. Nutibara.
Really nice room with all amenities one might require, the bed was very comfortable. I do get morning headaches when sleeping on bad bed/mattress/pillow but here everything was fine. The bed was really comfy.
You get included quite a good breakfast buffet** though I did not like the same two varieties of eggs every day, I loved the hot options that changed every day (chicken fajitas, meatballs, beef, sausages, etc.). Some days they even put up desserts like flan or fruit cake. ** I have read some not so good reviews about breakfast before my travel and I was a bit anxious - you need to adjust your expectations this is not a 5* All Inclusive resorts where you get 10 food bars with 100 food options for breakfast - having said that, the breakfast buffet was varied, plentiful, and tasty and the fruit juices tasted good as well. You can also get hot chocolate for your children.
Staff was really friendly and helpful.
A note to foreign (leisure) travelers, remember that by Colombian law you are not required to pay 16% IVA on hotels if you are traveling for leisure and have been in country less than (I think) 30 days (but maybe it's for the whole duration of your tourist stamp, but 30 days it's minimum). Be sure to "mention this" to the front desk when you check in. But to take advantage your trip purpose must be leisure (holidays) and this must be noted in your passport by immigration official by ticking appropriate entry category on the entry stamp.
All in all, I consider this excellent value for money especially if you book 3-5 days in advance via booking and book a 3 or longer night stay,
