We were expecting a beautiful beach with sunbeds, but it didn´t look very appealing to spend time there, so we had to go to Rodadero instead, it is of course crowded there, but the beach is nicer. The service is unfortunately not better and we also couldn´t find sunbeds at the beach, just chairs and the price was exagerated

Santa marta is a nice place for a good vacation.
Santa marta is a nice place for a good vacation. It’s easily accessible with short connecting flights from bogota, Medellin and Panama City. The city is affordable and safe. Taxis are relatively cheap and safe making getting around easy.

Santa Marta is a cool little town.
Santa Marta is a cool little town. It seems more like the "local" vacation spot where Colombians go to vacation or the beach. My group seemed to be the only Americans in town. We found some great local restaurants and everyone was very nice. Very few English speakers though.
Everyone recommends Playa Blanca - but it's only accessible by boat. We chose Playa Rodadero in town and it was fun. Lots of merchants constantly asking you to buy things though.

Santa Marta is a nice city, but its historic town isn't of the same caliber as Cartagena. It is smaller and much less restored/developed. There is one long lane running through the historic district that has a lot of restaurants and cafes. The beach in Santa Marta proper is not very nice and is reported to be polluted. Given that there is a marina on one end and a large port for container ships on the other that is easy to believe. El Rodadero is a nice area, but again the caliber of the restaurants and cafes is not nearly that of Cartagena and it is much more of a party town than Boca Grande in Cartagena.
We had an amazing time in Casa Hotel Rosa. We felt that the personal wanted to made us feel like home and it was completely the case ! They were very kind, helpful and interesting. The place is really enjoyable and beautiful and breakfast was really good. Thanks to the atmosphere you just want to hangout in the common place. We would definitely go back to this place if we had to be again in Santa Marta!
The hotel was very cute and well maintained. The staff was very attentive and kind as well. The breakfast was fine. The room was comfortable as well as the bed and it had a nice little sitting area with a view of the downstairs pool. You could also climb higher to a view of the outside area. We just stayed one night and used Santa Marta as a rest stop, so this was perfect for our purpose.
the hotel is located in the middle of the historic center of Santa Marta, very quiet area. breakfast is served every morning and it made fresh with every day different items. Jorge, working in the reception of the hotel, is the best! we forgot our sunglasses when we left, but the same day he did send us a message about it!
Staff was super friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and just like what was shown in the pictures. Room had air conditioning which was definitely needed as Santa Marta is very hot during the day. Overall the hotel is clean and quiet during the day which allowed me to be able to relax.
It was really nice to have parque de los novios so close, we loved our walks in this area. I've been many times to Santa Marta and I can say Origo's Peruvian restaurant is a jewel, the rabo anticuchero is simply amazing. Muchas gracias to Alvaro who welcomed us in late at night on our way back to the hotel.
This hotel I really liked a lot . The location is the best in Santa Marta. Directly on la bahia, close to many attractions .
My balcony was great and the hotel is close to the center, where in the night many people are walking around.
Just fantastic
This hotel is on a nice quiet residential street in an excellent location. The room was very clean and comfortable with an updated, quiet, efficient AC unit. Liz was very helpful and friendly! We loved the feel of a bit of Santa Marta history.
The hotel is really close to the beach and restaurants. It is clean and was nice to stay in. The staff was really helpful about local tours and helped us get to the National Park that is a main attraction in Santa Marta.
The staff are so friendly and helpful and make your stay so enjoyable. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, very clean and have well maintained. This is certainly my go-to hotel in Santa Marta.
The staff were very helpful, lovely facility (other than some construction), our suite was large, good breakfast. Best value for money and our favorite hotel we stayed at in Colombia
The staff is amazing at this lovely hotel.
Rooms are clean and big enough. It's located next to the old charming center of Rodadero. The pool at beachside is very nice and inviting.
Good hotel in a centric location in Santa Marta. It is very closed to where the restaurants and pubs are located. Nice facilities and swimmng pool is a plus
Clean, spacious rooms in comparison with other similar priced hotels in the centre of Santa Marta. comfortable bed. Nice bar area and good swimming pool.
