Miss Vincent has always the daily new around the island
not as described location was a lie...
We had a great time here in Posada Misscenta. We spent one week with Vicenta and her son Mark and they were helpful anytime we needed. The house is located in San Luis two minutes from the sea and 5 to the nearest beach, so 15 minutes away from San andres centre; we liked the fact it was in a spot were are not many tourists, instead the raizal people live here.We got a scooter soon as we arrived so that we could go around the island. But there are buses too. Vicenta let us use her kitchen/fridge too, even if when we asked she didnt seem very happy. We just cooked a plate of pasta once, and other times just made sandwiches. Overall i would reccomend la Posada Vicenta to everyone with not many expectations, is simple and it respects the price you pay.
There are mosquitos in all the house and in the room, so it was annoying for us and even though we had the spray anti-mosquitos they were biting us.Maybe a mosquitos net in the room would not hurt. The room itself it was ok but the bed and pillows are not the best. The bathroom needs to be cleaned regularly as there is water on the floor anytime you have a shower.
It's leaded by a family (son + mom), so it is having the potential of having a family atmosphere. In the end only the son was kind of open and friendly, usually very helpful too (for example bringing us with his motorbike somewhere)... as well as the other guests. When entering the house, the big living room looks welcoming... and right, wifi exists in all the house, and the facilities are not modern, but sufficient. So if someone is not having great expectations, this is really alright. We had booked only a room (cause it's also possible to book appartments), and had actually to share the bathroom, but were lucky that no other room was occupied, so we only needed to share the bathroom with the family. Also Miss Centa allowed us to use her kitchen and fridge. Furthermore, 2 very gorgeous beaches are not far away... we enjoyed some hours in the both of them.
The located area in the map is WRONG !!!!!! We expected to be in the centre of San Andres, but indeed the Posada is very far away... When we asked about changing to another hotel, there came a lot of reasons why it is not possible to pay back the money for the rest of the days and we are still not sure if all those reasons are correct (cause some looked like contraries). When going out at night, then we had the problem that we didn't have our own keys, not for the room as well as not for the house. So once we ended up in front of the house, and everything was locked up and we a little bit shocked. It took some while until we found a way for waking up one of them. In general there are not so much things bothering me in life, but the strange smell that was always in the air (of some chemical beadlets that should keep away the insects, mosquitos or whatever) was really annoying. And after for example leaving clothes or other things in the same cupboard, then all those clothes had that annoying smell too. And if we left the windows open for neutralizing the smell a bit and left the house: when coming back we always found the windows closed again. This made us felt a bit like not being the "boss" even in our room. Also it was obviously that Miss Centa was cleaning regularly and tried to clean up everything good. But still some parts were always looking unclean, the bathroom and the kitchen for example. Another general thing about Miss Centa: when we were talking with her or asked her for help, then she was of course helping, but this always with a grimmy, unfriendly face... never a smile on it. All what I did write here, this was usually something that not only we (2 women) realized, it was the same about the other guests that we were sometimes talking to and spending time with (a family from Chile).
