The place is very friendly, nicely decorated and nearby museums.

Everybody keeps telling you that after 20.00 hours the street is not safe anymore. They are probably right altough it is mostly beggers who hassle you.

The staff were very pleasant and my room was clean and nice. And the location of the hotel is good too, about 10min on foot at the centre.

Incredibly helpful staff. They helped us mail a package home after we'd left, with no problems. Absolutely brilliantly service minded.

    The location was good.

Upon arrival, we were asked to pay for the accommodation up front and they tried to add the 16% VAT. When we advised them this was not a requirement for non-Colombian citizens they argued with us for 45 mins quite aggressively. They finally decided that once they had a copy of our passports, itinerary and entry stamps we wouldn't have to pay. The twin room had one double bed and a child sized sofa bed - both were extremely uncomfortable. My friend left her towel hanging on the chair before we left for the day and when got back, her towel had been left, wet, lying across the bottom of her bed! The noise from the street was really loud. On our last night an alarm was going off in reception and when my friend went to ask about this the receptionist didn't care and acted like nothing was happening even though we told her we could hear it in our room at 1.30am! We stayed for three nights and each day for breakfast there was something missing from the set menu however this was not communicated. We had to ask and were just told 'no'. There was no hot water one day and when we reported this the receptionist just asked us to sign the final bill. We were not checking out for another two days. Overall the staff were not very helpful except for one, Mauricio, who was only on a couple of times during our stay.

Friendly ladies who do the breakfast.

Although foreigners are exempt by law from paying the 16% IVA tax, I was charged this. No amount of pleading my case was going to change this with the owners. Other places I've stayed at on this trip haven't charged the 16% on top. I was told by the owners that I would be able to claim the tax back at the airport but this is false info, you can't (the refund applies to luxury goods but not accommodation). As I was already committed to the cost of a night's stay through the terms of the site there was not really anything I could do about it. Either they're working a scam or are genuinely unaware of what they need to do administratively to avoid clients being overcharged or they can't be bothered putting the paperwork in place. Whichever way, I paid too much, and feel a bit ripped off and lied to. Nor did it help having a ground floor room which was noisy, stunk of mothballs, had hairs in the shower and some old emery boards from a previous guest, and could have done with a good flick round with a duster. Disappointing.

Its convenient location to the historic centre. Its also a quiet hotel at night and a safe place for a woman travelling on her own.

Location, transfer, breakfast at the roof floor.

I needed to negotiate that foreigners shouldn't pay tax (16%) by local law of 2013. My friend stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago and had a conversation with general manager, so I referred to her and after a call of receptionist to general manager all was settled. There is no hot water in the basin and practically no window in the room - just 10-15 sm. glassed piece near the door or a bit bigger piece beneath the selling depending on the room, but both looking to corridor of hotel. There were very noisy, so if you don't want to be interrupted at 6am, you'd better use earplugs. Street where hotel located doesn't look very good, but it's 4 min walk from Museum of gold and 15 min walk to Bolivar sq.

Very nice people, friendly and helpful. Very safe. The breakfast improved a lot since some older reviews.

Noise from the TV/Radio in the lobby in the evening.

Extremely friendly and helpful reception staff answered questions politely and helped arrange for taxis and tours, providing insight into fair prices for gringos. Breakfast and cleaning staff were also very pleasant. Enjoyed (included in the hotel price) large, healthy breakfast on 3rd floor of roofed patio. Great for guests to have access to two free computers.

Would recommend a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor, as 1st floor is a bit noisy.

Comfortable private rooms with hot water, great breakfast

too expensive. made a reservation to enjoy the sauna and jacuzzi but it wasn't available (due to works), the neighbourhood at night doesn't seem very safe...

The Hotel ist right in the centre of many tourist attractions. Goldmuseum, Cablecar Station, the hHistoric Part, Shopping Centres etc is all within walkable distance. Even the basis of "Bike Tour Bogotá" (very recommendable!) is only 2 streets away. The people working there were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was sufficient. No complains about that.

My room didn't have a window to the outside, just a small window to the hall where the reception was.

The staff, I was there with a specific goal( in Colombia) the staff was very interested in my progress and offered help along the way where I needed it, from recepion to owners. Amazing place!

The breakfast I guess, was a bit small.

Fantastic location, located on a side street steps from Parque de los Periodistas in the La Candelaria district and many of the city's tourist attractions. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our 2-night stay. Hot water in the shower, and a tasty (if basic) breakfast. The checkout time (3:00 p.m.) was also much appreciated.

management and staff were friendly and helpful, although little English spoken. The shower was intermittently hot on the first day but from then on good.

Breakfast pretty poor limited choice though I understand this could well be typical of Colombia.
