My only complaint if you will about the hotel itself, was that the beds were a little hard. The showers work with an electrical system that has 3 settings, cold, warm, hot. We found the warm too hot. The hotel/motel is located on the opposite side of the island. The airport, beaches, restaurants, clubs, etc. are in downtown, about 30 min drive. If you ride a motorcycle at night (like we did sometimes) you drive through some areas that don't look too good on one side of the island, or through complete darkness on the other side. Buses are erratic on their schedule, sometimes it takes more than an hour to see one. At night they are very crowded. Buses stop running about 8:30 PM. The island is very unkempt, I understand that it is because of a dispute with Nicaragua.
This is a quaint place (Hotel/Motel) to stay in San Andres Island, Colombia. It is a family run business, where everyone is very friendly and ready to cater to your needs, even if they are not part of a normal stay (we got food poisoning in a downtown restaurant). The place has about 20 rooms, with basic beds, cable TV, shower, and a small table with chairs. They offer free Wi-Fi, but we found it weak for video. Breakfast was included. They also offer lunch and dinner a la carte. The food was good and the prices fair. The hotel has a small (good for the size of the hotel) but nice pool. The hotel faces west so you can appreciate the sunsets every afternoon, hence the name. The clear waters of the ocean (no beach) is right across the street. It is great for snorkeling or scuba diving. The place has a scuba shop on-site with good prices. The place offers motorcycle rentals. All personnel is very friendly. I will return sometime.
