The owner and other people were very helpfull and nice. They can help you for whatever you want.
Very laid back nice personnel
Area is not considered safe, other guests did get robbed during my stay Breakfast only from 8 to 9 and very basic Uncomfortable beds and rooms not quiet due to set up into the Patio
Cool atmosphere. The main manager who works at the other Hostal is nice and so is her partner. They speak English at the other Tip Top.
Our room was freezing cold, open to the outdoors. There were tons of black hairs in the bed. The staff did not speak a word of English and always tried to put us on the phone with someone who also didn't speak English. No food or snacks for sale
Tip Top Hostal is at a quiet small street in Candelaria, the beautiful old town centre of Bogotá. It is safe and well maintained. Nice people, who lead the hostel.
The door is always locked, so you need to look for the staff, if you want to get out. That's because of safety reasons, as travelers often didn't lock the door after they left and stuff was stolen. In emergencies it can be dangerous though.
They were understanding I was there on a long layover. Did not charge me a double night and was extremely polite.
The owner was really lovely and helpful. He even got up super early to make me breakfast on my last day. As I was going to come back to Bogotá for a couple of hours in a few day's time (going between cities) he said I was welcome to come, rest and have a shower (all for free)!
The room was dirty (there was even an old cotton earbud left in the bathroom cabinet) it was cold and there was no hot water. The location was good in the sense that you are close to many things but also bad due to the fact that everyone kept telling me it was really dangerous. The "seguridad privada" stopped me a couple of times near the hostel and told me to go back inside and not venture out at night. The rest of the staff were nowhere near as friendly as the owner himself and did not make me feel very welcome and comfortable.
Location is OK The old lady who runs the place (and seems to live in one of the rooms next to the dorm) is like your gran. breakfast was not bad
Living room area is very small and unconfortable - the rooms which back on it will find it hard to get any quiet. Bed and sheets where not the best Shower was terrible - it drips warm water at you
Very friendly, good location.
Great staff, warm and friendly! Good location in the heart of Bogota.
