Good view. Beer available in fridge. Pleasant staff.
Barking dogs and highway noise, uncomfortable bed, drab interior, impossible to find without GPS, lack of upkeep, shoddy bathroom. Wish I'd stayed elsewhere.
The grounds were beautiful and relaxing. Jorge was outstanding at helping us arrange for transportation. The beds were very comfortable. The owner was very nice.
The location was a bit remote, but public transportation is available, but nobody knew the schedule. A local map or directions would have been useful. Although they served breakfast, which is a plus, the quality of the food was only mediocre.
Stayed here after New Year's 2015 the night before our flight out of San Jose. We arrived rather late as coming back from the beach in Guanacaste (Playa Samara/Nosara region) took us the 5.5 hours rather than the 3.5 we were hoping for. Given that we arrived late we got to the gate and were about to call, but George who is a member of the Vista Linda Montana staff was bringing a group in from somewhere. George was one of the most polite staffers from lodging that I've ever met. Polite & pleasant German fellow who made sure that we felt welcome there. He assured us that arriving late was no problem since they get people who come from the airport at all hours of the day. Continental breakfast looking over the ravine to the West with unobstructed views of Volcan Poas in the morning was great. $80 for the night with the reservation made 1 month in advance. Would recommend a stay here to anybody. Bears mentioning that this can be a tricky place to find as it is near the airport, but a cab driver might have difficulty finding it unless it is an Alajuela city cab. Vista Linda Montana is much easier to find if you have the GPS coordinates like the ones provided on booking.com or the Vista Linda Montana website. I had purchased a EZ-Find/Nav Sat card for my Garmin off eBay and it got us there just fine.
Hard to find complaints. Not a luxury bed & breakfast so don't expect or demand that of your stay at Vista Linda Montana. Would recommend the stay to anyone. Location will be easier to find if you have the GPS coordinates like we did since the roads are not marked and everything is point of reference as far as addresses go.
Everything was wonderful in this hotel, but what really touched me about here wasn't just the rooms and the facilities(which were excellent) It was the staff. We spent our first night and last night in Costa Rica here. We chose this location due to its proximity to the airport and Poas National Park. When we arrived to the hotel we had just rented a car from Economy. We realized when we were close to the hotel that the car had a transmission problem. When we arrived to the hotel the staff helped us get a new car. During our last night in Costa Rica, me and my friend woke up sick, and we had to take our flight that exact day, the staff really took care of us, they gave us appropriate good for us, they even took it to our room, they let us rest after check out. They gave us medicine, they came numerous times to check that we were OK, long story sort they treated us as if we were very close friends, and that is why I absolutely recommend anyone to choose this hotel.
Room clean and staff friendly. The place is very peaceful and the view super.
Wifi doesn't work in the room.
We came late and had to leave early, so we don´t used the pool or other facilities. The room was clean and nice, a little bit long in the tooth, but absolutely ok for us. Really great view over the mountains. Good breakfast (please some stronger coffee the next time :)) and nice stuff. Free and save parkingarea. We can recommend the accomodation.
very gracious hosts, beautiful grounds and quiet, relaxing atmosphere with views of Poas volcano. Comfortable bed with fresh air through the window at night and tasty breakfast among beautiful scenery
Friendly staff Clean room Not too far from the Airport (10-15 min by car)
- Roxanne (who did an intership at that moment) was a really friendly girl who helped us out for our first days in CR, thx again sweetie!! - nice terras with nice view on volcano Poas and the mountains
- breakfast and dinner were a little poor
Very friendly, multilingual staff. Beautiful grounds and comfortable rooms.
weak water pressure in shower
This was the first place we stayed at during our trip to Costa Rica. It was a perfect location from the airport and very comfortable for the night we stayed. We could have stayed longer.... The setting was beautiful to wake up to and breakfast was lovely. The staff were very helpfull arranging transportation to our next destination. Wonderful start to our holiday.
The German quolity in a Costerica price
The location. Beautiful mountain views and cool climate. Good morning coffee. The place has lots of potential to become a first-class hotel.
Breakfast was not what this Gringo expected -- a small cold plate of fruit, mortedella, and cheese that my husband and I had to share. The restaurant (advertised on the website) was closed, so we found ourselves on our own for lunch and dinner. Fortunately, some local restaurants were in town within walking distance.
The territorial views from the eating area were nice, and waking up with all the bird sounds.
The location of the hotel was on a terrible street for getting in and out of. Our unit had electrical problems and the light/fan weren't working. And the ants were everywhere in our room. I had to find the spot they were getting in and seal it myself!
Convenient & safe location, nice setting, small enough, very good & friendly staff (English, French, Spanish, German spoken!) They arranged for pick-up at the airport and car renting at a very good price right at the hotel. Communication for arrangements before the trip was excellent. I recommend!
We stayed for two nights at Vista Linda Montana as a starting point to our Costa-Rica tour. The B&B organized for us transportation from the airport - it took about 20 min. The room we got (first floor) was spacious and clean, including a safe box. The WiFi coverage was better in the public areas than in the room. Breakfast was very good and was served in a patio overlooking a fantastic view, including a large garden. In one of the nights we ordered a dinner ($12), which was very good. The couple who owed the house do not speak english. Therefore, we must thank Adriana, who helps the couple to run the B&B, for addressing all our inquires throughout our stay!!!!
Everything! perfect and very helpful staff in every meaning, they helped us very much with a car rental, som advices about markets, dinner is paid, but absolutely delicious, really, we were completely satisfied!
Access impossible without a GPS,
It was inexpensive, room size was decent
We did not enjoy our stay here. We were supposed to come back for another night stay before leaving for the airport but we booked another hotel instead. In our opinion, it was not worth the cheaper price per night. The pillows and sheets were cheap which made it hard to sleep. The ceiling fan made a loud noise and was not usable. You could also hear all the neighbors if anyone was staying below or above you. The breakfast was terrible. We weren't expecting much from the breakfast but there's nothing else around so you end up starving. The listing says it's close to airport and town but it really isn't. We ended up paying about $30 US for a Wendy's run. The family that runs it are nice but the place is just not comfortable to stay at
Garden nothing more.
There was nobody speaking english where we come. The owner which was there didn't was accept credit card. She wanted only cash. Wifi was only on the public parking. Then The Stafford took my credit and I couldn't see on it. It's no reception in this hotel . The bed was very uncomfortable . Shuttle on the airport was rich taxi. Hotel is far from the airport and the way is very complicated and bad . At all it was last and also the worst opinion from all Costarica
Last minute booking due to delayed travel. They arranged dinner and the short taxi ride from the airport, and assisted with getting a rental car brought to the B&B the next morning. Easy driving exit for the west-coast beaches the next morning.
The owners are nice people. Close to the San Jose airport. Excellent views from the hotel. All the basic amenities exist(WiFi, hot shower etc.). Great dinner with fish.
Very helpful and flexible. We were able to get a dinner meal even though we arrived 15 minutes before the dinner hour of 7:00 p.m. Very quiet with a wonderful view of the volcanos to the North.
Beautiful room with views far away to the mountains. Near the airport but in a fairly rural location. Evening meal, which we paid extra for, was excellent. Staff were very friendly.
Breakfast was average.
Had a nice breakfast and very pretty grounds -
