Airport Hotel Berlor

The pool garden area was very pretty. The a/c was very good and there was an enormous flat screen tv in the room.

The room was overpriced for the value. There was no laundry available, the restaurant was closed, and the staff gave conflicting stories about why these services were unavailable. The hall light was out, the room lighting was dim, the carpeting was spotted and there was an odd smell in the room. We would have left if it had been possible.

Virtually nothing was what their advertisement on Booking.com said

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. 1/ The hotel is not 1Klm from the airport terminal it is 3 Klm. 2/ The hotel does not pick up from the airport. 3/ The airport taxi wanted $20 to take me to the hotel. 4/ The room photos are deceptive. I was offered "internal" rooms with no windows to the outside. The windows shown on the pictures are facing into internal public hallways. They offer NO privacy or external light or ventilation. I complained and was told that it would cost more to change to a room with a window to the outside. 5/ The hotel does not accept American Express like they say on Booking.com and they Emailed me after I booked and was confirmed that they required a different card. The stuffing was hanging out of the bed base. 6/ They forgot to list my 3am wake up call to catch my flight. They thought it funny. 7/ It is 2Klm walk to anywhere half decent to have a dinner meal. 8/ Basically the hotel is a converted old house.

We stayed at this hotel due to it's close proximity to the airport and the value. We only needed a place to sleep and a ride to the airport and this is exactly what the Berlor offers. The rooms are very small but clean and are perfect for a one night stay before a flight. There is also a nice pool and garden area to relax and a very friendly staff.

Lighting in rooms could be a little better since natural light is lacking.

Friendly and helpful staff. Nice little pool and enclosed relaxing garden. Taxi ride to airport included. Adequate for overnight stay on way in or out of San Jose.

The hotel does not allow clients to eat in their rooms. TV did not work in our room #4. Suspect this has been the case for a while as opposed to the helpful "try again in 30 minutes" response to me enquiry. Right under the flight path !! but on the flip side only 5 mins. to the airport drop off.

They failed to have a working email and so did not have a room ready for our group. They shuttled us off to their other hotel that had no a/c, a fan that stopped every hour in the night, terrible street noise and no pool. Then $10 surcharge for the 3rd person. A terrible experience after a long flight.

Room was ok and clean good recycling

Did not like that 30% of our room price was charged to our credit card and the other 70% we paid in cash. Thought we were getting a good price until the 30% showed up on our visa bill.

We like the young man that checked us in he was very helpful with everything.

We do not like the man that was on the midnight shift he was very rude and unfriendly.

Everything worked like clock work. 5 am wake up call. Free wifi, tv and air/ co. Pool. Full Breakfast ready at 6 am. Off to airport with their in-house driver at 6:30. Small rooms but clean.

Small bathroom and water could have been hotter.

The hotel was dirty and felt unsafe. The woman who checked us is was unfriendly and unhelpful. Next time we need a hotel next to the airport in San Jose we will spend the extra $30 and stay at the Holiday Inn Express. Normally, we like to stay at local owned and ran hotels but in this case next time we will pass.

Poor maintenance of rooms, No hot water only warm, No value for money!!!

It was surprisingly quiet for the location. Found a great Texas BBQ for dinner nearby. Good breakfast.

Had to pay cash at checkout. Would have preferred to use a credit card.

staff was excellent. Shuttle to airport was what we needed and it worked out great.

Really dirty, couldn't walk barefoot on the carpet. Broken door in the bathroom, underwear in the main hallway on the floor.

Some of rooms (like mine) located to closed to reception and and always noise. Prices little to high for offered services

I liked the cozy rooms and cozy atmosphere of the hotel and location to the airport of course.

I didn't like the fact that there was no space for our ride to drop us off. only on the road with traffice flying by; other than that, it was great!!

Proximity

There was no water when we first arrived. Bed was terrible...too soft. Overall, the place was shabby, but the staff was very friendly. Also, we paid in cash but we were sent a request by PayPal to pay for our room.

Great staff and very helpful. Breakfast was a wonderful treat in the morning.

The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets were ill fitting. The TV was at the wrong angle to see from the bed and there was only one 'english' channel

They charged $10 each for 2 visitors that came by for about an 1 1/2 hours.

It's just a place very convenient to the airport for a one night stay after arrival or before departure.
