The rooms were plain but well kept, very clean. The staff were very helpful and very quick to bring us candles when we had a power cut. Breakfast was very good
The 2 mattresses put together to form a large double bed
Nice Service Great Rooms in a modern Ibiza style Good breakfast and information, great bathroom and showers A joy to stay there
Room was pretty clean, wifi worked fine, two fans in the room (without them it would be too hot), hot shower, 5min away from the main road, supermarket is really close, room looks kind of stylish, staff quickly replied per Email, when we asked, if we could Check in later
No windows, but just One Big Glass door Looking to the common area Outside (no privacy, when Not closing the curtains), really loud, when its raining
I was made to feel extremely welcome at this relaxing hotel. Set round a nice courtyard the eight rooms are a safe ten minute walk from some great restaurants.
If I HAD to find a dislike...............The outside furniture is a bit old.
The fans in the room were nice at night, the owners were extremely friendly and helpful - we ate the breakfast they offered one morning and it was delicious. They also recommended places for us to eat at which were delicious too. The rooms were very clean and the design very modern and minimalistic. Overall a great experience and I would definitely recommend.
There was only two tiny windows to open for fresh air.
Nice room, modern style, friendly staff
Location excellent. Beds comfortable. Room spacious. Hot water! Friendly host Lara. Nice dog. Great shower!! Given access to frig for our drinks/food. Very nice. Lara gave us extra fan in the room, and as well replaced the fan I knocked over accidentally. She took the fan from her own room which was most gracious.
Unbearingly hot. No air circulation in room. Only windows were tiny and behind concrete bathroom dividing wall. Courtyard facing Wall of windows were permanent windows, should be screen option for nighttime. Lara did get us extra fans but they didn't help - pushed hot air around. - room was suffocatingly hot. Both nights Pulled mattress outside and slept on gravel but dealt w bugs. Simple addition of screens would have made a tremendous impact on comfort. Would have appreciated some offer of condolence or empathy. Lara said all other guests didn't sleep outside, so she surmised it was only our problem and didn't offer anything to mitigate the issue. I can't speak for other guests' comfort, but good customer service is " a problem w a guest is a problem w a guest." Offer some kind of courtesy... A free breakfast or even a freecoffee! Got "sorry for u, no one else complained". Lara is not owner, she was caring for property for her sister I think. She is a sweet sweet person, very friendly. I acknowledge she is not responsible for the building, but the customer service is absolutely her role. In the end, her boyfriend called her to him, and subsequently we were Not charged 5% for something, not sure what that was for, but we thanked her and left. I felt we were good guests until the end when I became agitated being charged 2diff prices for exact same room.
The owners were great. They went out of their way to help me during my stay, super thoughtful and friendly. Same goea for Karsten, the tour guide. The room is big and simpel.
It could improve on some minor details (safe in the room, shower curtain, extra bin), but nothing special.
great value for money nice and clean room great service by the owners good location valle!
No shower curtain
Cleanliness, spacious and decor o
Hot, no air conditioning
I enjoyed very much my stay at Indalo. I really did like everything about this place and would recommend it with no doubt.
It provides all the basics you need. Excellent price/quality.
Rooms are minimal but comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is quiet, surrounded by the forest, but within 5 minutes walking you will be in the center (town is not big)
No air conditioning, only the fan. Btw, you can sleep well.
Wonderful, friendly young couple running it who took great trouble to help all of their guests have an enjoyable stay in Puerto Viejo. Hotel well situated, short walk to centre of town, howler monkeys in trees, hummingbird breakfasting in little garden area with me. Really great stay!
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and simply decorated. The space was peaceful and removed from the bustle of the main drag. Hot shower and comfortable bed.
The room was a bit hot and could get stuffy, a screened door or large screened window would probably help.
Everything, nice people and nice hotel !
The layout - separate units all on ground level looking out on to very pleasant garden. Location - away from busy town centre, right by bush. Staff - very friendly young couple from Spain. Had lots of information about PV & happy to take the time to talk to us. Spanish restaurant they recommended to us for evening meal.
I received a friendly greeting upon arrival and the staff were very personable. This was my second but not my last stay.
Just a wonderful peaceful environment. Beautiful kind staff.
1. The location is the best I can imagine in the city of Puerto Viejo - less than 5 minutes walk to everything you need but very quiet at night, except for howler monkeys in the morning :) 2. The hotel felt very safe: all rooms face a closed yard and the main door to the yard is open only when somebody from the staff is on site. Thus, although the room did not have a safe, we still felt quite relaxed about our valuables. 3. We liked the design of the room! 4. Wi-Fi worked well, which was important for us.
Smoking is allowed in the hotel yard. Since all 8 hotel rooms face the same closed yard, you will surely smell cigarette smoke during breakfast or just sitting on your room patio if one of hotel guests lights up his or her cigarette. Regrettably, there were some heavy smokers during our stay. So, as a non-smoker, I felt very uncomfortable about this. If staying again in Puerto Viejo, I would be looking for a different hotel specifically because Hotel Indalo allows smoking within its premises. Otherwise I found the hotel quite comfortable.
Very good accomodation close to the main road with shop and restaurants. Fantastic hosts - Cristina and her husband - did everything possible to make my stay very pleasant, a big thank you to them! good value for such a good quality - strictly recommended!
I liked almost everything. Just a couple of recommendations: 1) the curtain in bathroom is needed 2)fan is ok, but it seems that there should be at least several higher- category rooms with the air conditioners and small fridges in the room 3)beach towels should be provided But in general everything was absolutely fine.
perfect location in the center of the city, modern & clean rooms, nice staff, we loved the place for its location, the rooms.
the only thing that was missing was a fridge in the room.
The room is big, clean, white, modern... The owners are great! Probably the best hotel in the center of Puerto Viejo...
Puerto Viejo is very small, so even though Hotel Indalo is on the back edge of town, you are still only a 5 minute (maximum) walk from the beachfront. The location is quiet and feels quite close to nature. The staff were very pleasant and had many suggestions about the best beaches and places to eat. The concrete floors in the rooms do not look very glamorous, but are very practical when you're coming back covered in sand. The interior courtyard had a nice selection of plants and rocking chairs outside each room. Alas, the rocking chairs are not very easy to rock on the large stones of the gravel lining the courtyard. Overall, I found the hotel very clean, quiet, relaxing, and while the decor was not glamorous, it was certainly comfortable. I thought it was a good value and would stay here again. One of my companions, whose tastes far exceed her budget, did not seem overly impressed, so if you're looking for luxury, it may not be the place for you.
The sink in the bathroom did not drain well. The shower had a rain showerhead - but it was slightly broken, so the water poured out mostly from one edge rather than through the holes of the showerhead. There is no shower curtain on the shower, and the floor outside the shower got quite wet. I would have preferred a closed parking lot for the rental car. We parked right in front of the hotel. While I don't think we had any problem there, when I returned the rental car it was discovered that the spare tire on our 4x4 had been punctured. I am not sure whether the tire was like this when we picked up the car, or if it happened somewhere along the way. Since it doesn't make any sense for someone to puncture the spare if they want to try to rob you when you are broken down on the side of the road, it's possible the tire was already damaged when we picked it up. However, if you have a rental car, check your tires carefully before you leave town - this is a scheme the US State Department warns about! Again, this may not have happened in Puerto Viejo and is not the fault of Hotel Indalo, but is a reminder for those with rental cars to be vigilant.
