Excellent facilities and staff. The restaurant was more than accommodating and friendly. Nice grounds and friendly service.
Would be a bonus if there was a hot tub by the pool.
Rooms Gardens Breakfast Staff Good quality food at a good price Close to La Fortuna but gave you a sense of isolation
Not well signposted so not easy to find
The staff at reception, the wait staff, and the housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. The food was great, both dinner and breakfast. We had to check out early the last day, and the reception clerk offered to make up boxed lunches for us to take since we would be missing breakfast. The security guard had them waiting for us at 4:30 a.m.
One of our rooms, on the first floor, had a very musty, damp smell. We were offered a change to the only remaining room, which was also on the first floor and had the same odor. The staff sent a room deoderizer which helped somewhat but did not eliminate the odor.
Richard at the front desk was great. He couldn't do more for us, every excursion or trip we wanted (even if it wasn't included on the list of excursions) he took care of. Truly made our first stay in Arenal memorable, we will be back! We recommend the Zip Line Canopy tour... the 7 lines wasn't really enough and we wish we did the 12. The grounds are beautifully kept. Every morning we ate breakfast with humming birds flying around us. The food at the hotel was great, we never had a bad meal. Highly recommend, great value for the money and the rooms were very clean.
The staff- specifically the knowledge the staff had on all of the activities, the fact that they spoke good english overall, and how genuinely kind they were. I also like the grounds- very well kept and beautiful. The breakfast buffet was great. I also liked the proximity to town,
The rooms are dated and a little dull. Could use an update.
Quiet a/c Relaxing balcony Comfortable bed Fridge in room Quiet location, 5 min drive to main part of town Mud facial
Bad driving directions from staff
Small rooms. Book spa services early as they run out of spots quickly.
the food in the restaurant for lunch and dinner was good. The breakfast was also good; a good selection of fruit and some traditional cooked foods. The balcony was a good size, with an excellent view of Arenal volcano, and the beds were comfortable. We had an intermittent problem with the safe in the room, which the staff came to open immediately on 4 occasions. The gardens are beautiful and the pool is clean, with a swim-up bar.
There was very little hanging space, just a small rail under the table with 3 or 4 hangers. There was no wardrobe. The room was just about big enough for 3 people and there were only 2 drawers for storage space.
Fantastic accommodations and Richard at concierge was incredibly helpful in guiding us on activities and answering questions. Away from the main street just enough but nearby Arenal Volcano, La Fortuna Falls and if you're up for a challenging, rewarding hike then head to Cerro Chato trail. Excellent food at the restaurant and good value on spa services.
Great location with great facilities beautiful gardens and very friendly staff
Great setting close to both the waterfalls and the town. Lovely pool. Good restaurant. Many families vacationing here.
the property is lush and amazing, Casa Luna is a bargain for what is offered. Enjoyed the pool area, walking trail and got a great nights sleep.
had no negative issue with this hotel.
The location was great-- the grounds are beautiful. The room was great, and was a good value. Free breakfast every morning was excellent. Lots of lizards and other wildlife on the grounds (huge variety of birds).
The wifi was a bit spotty at times. On my booking, I had also requested a top-level room if possible, which they didn't accomodate, even though it looked like they did have empty second-level rooms (not a huge deal-- the ground-floor room was fine).
The view, the staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good
Nothing. We really enjoyed our stay and will come back again
Rooms and property beautiful. Staff very helpful
All was excellent
Beautiful gardens, great spa, comfortable rooms and really enjoyed bird-spotting from our balcony (as well as the views of Arenal). Wonderful food
closeness to volcan arenal and fortuna waterfall. Great free breakfast. Great staff!
Balcony view of the volcano was fantastic. Gardens were nothing short of spectacular. Food was excellent and creative. We enjoyed the outdoor restaurant. Beds were comfortable. Staff was very helpful with directions to sights and booking hot springs. Overall it was a very enjoyable stay and I would book there again.
Restaurant /bar is noisy so request a room that is not next to restaurant. Also lights behind our hotel rooms flooded in the rear room window at night and we had to improvise to keep the room dark. Bedspreads, curtains, and linens could use an update.
Rooms were clean, big, nice. The spa was great! The little trail was nice to get away and explore. Staff was very friendly and acomidating. Yearling was especially helpful.
Spa, food quality, location for el fortuna waterfall, on site pool and hiking path
Food prices were high
Nice territory and view
The reception staff were excellent and went out of their way to assist. The views of the volcano from each room and all communal areas (pool, gardens, etc) were outstanding. The location is good, a short $4-$5 taxi ride from the town to go for meals, but much better to stay here than in town (which would mean no views, no pool etc).
The breakfast was not as good as I would expect for a hotel of this standard. The dinner in the restaurant was inconsistent; one night the food was excellent and one night the food was poor, but we received slow service on both nights.
The lovely spa was my favourite
loved the location and the view of the volcano was amazing!!
