The house is awesome, lot of wood and a great view over the forrest. The staff was very friendly. It is kind of alternative and the atmosphere was nice. Thanks for the coffee
The open roof let noise in. You can hear everyone around you. The road to get there was bad.
A very friendly hostel in a beautiful location with excellent views and areas for relaxation. Good shared kitchen facilities
Read their add carefully! When they say the rooms aren't that private, that's what they mean! Thin bamboo walls. Those with small children watch out for the open panoramic balcony. Very beautiful and relaxing if you haven't got little ones who could very easily fall quite some distance...
Best hostel in 4 weeks Costa Rica. Very nice, friendly and helpful staff. Everything is tidy and you really want to use the big kitchen when you see it. We recommend going on the 'mixed' tour, but the hostel is also a very good place to just hang out and relax. Thank you!
i love the yoga deck (the most beautiful place i have practiced), julie who keeps everything clean and orderly, the volunteer staff is super friendly and helpful……it is nestled among so much natural greenery to just warm u from the inside out and keep that nice peaceful vibe…and added bonus is seeing howler monkeys, toucans and so many other birds i cannot identify.
i guess only thing i didn't like is i don't think people realize how hard they are walking along the floors upstairs so u can really feel it. not a major thing tho, seriously! and if u walk to town, it can sometimes be a long walk up the hill with bags of groceries…better to find a taxi or motorcycle guy to let u hop on the back!
The views are exceptional, but everything was fantastic - a really amazing experience. Thanks for having us.
Attracts a very mature crowd (not in reference to age at all). You may feel slightly out of place staying up after 10pm, so don't come here expecting a party! Very focused on meditation, spiritualism, relaxation and yoga.
This hostel was very clean. The setting and layout was wonderful. Very inviting and open to nature. Loved it. We were travelling with our three young children. We felt 100% comfortable with them there the entire time. Very family friendly. It was an easy walk into Uvita for supplies and food. Definitely try out the Baker Bean and the panaderia.
The atmosphere is really magic and peaceful. It is located in a piece of jungle, near the river. Everything is very clean, we even spent a night sleeping in a very basic common area, the loft, (we just booked one night and no more rooms were available, but we wanted to stay there!!) and even that accomodation was great too! Julie, the owner, is a very kind person and has everything under control.
Sleeping to the sound of frogs and waking to the sound of monkeys. This is a dream hostel, where staff and travelers are nice and open, and everything is very well organized.
I wish we would have stayed longer!
The hotel is in the middle of the "jungle", you cannot help but feel part of the wildlife :-) Enjoyed several nice meals you can prepare yourself at the hotel kitchen. Very relaxing atmosphere, friendly and welcoming...
Distant from the beach.
This place is just the best- great location up in the jungle. We had howler monkeys for neighbors! The kitchen is clean and very organized. The host were very friendly and helpful and all the other guests were also friendly. Nearby a waterfall for swimming and a short walk to town. The bed was comfortable and there are plenty of hammocks and chairs for relaxing in. Great time all around.
We didn't mind, but the architecture is very open which means there isn't much noise privacy. I just used earplugs at night and didn't even notice it. And it also means you get to hear all the jungle sounds, which is an added bonus I think.
It is a great place to relax , meet people and has the best kitchen i have come across in costa rica. Great staff.
beautiful hostel, very, very, very clean
there were too many rules you MUST follow, very strict owners. Although the place is beautiful it took away the holiday vibe. unfortunate
What I liked the most is the attitude of the owners. As soon as I booked a room, I received an e-mail from the guys with a very helpful information and explanation about the hostel. The hostel is kind of in the jungles, so bring a flash light, otherwise you might get lost on the way from Uvita to the hostel. The hostel has a kitchen with small stuff like coffee, sugar, tea, oil for free. You can keep your own goods in the fridge but do not forget to write down your name on it. It the mornings you can do yoga with a coach. There is a nice terrace and a few hammocks, where you can sit or lie with a book. BM supermarket is 20-25 minutes away by foot. There are a few small restaurants with good food. If you need laundry service, ask guys at the reception, they know where is the best service. There is a small waterfall which is in 10 min walk from the hostel, where you can swim.
You can pay only cash. Guys are saying that you have to take your shoes to the room, otherwise they can be stolen. Wi fi was not very strong.
Julie, the owner, is very friendly and helpfull. View from the hotel (first floor terrace) is great. Room is good. Close to the waterfall (for a swim).
This is a really nice and laid-back hostel located beautifully. The clientel is mixed but the vibe is more grown-up and tranquil than at i.e. Flutterby. Excellent kitchen to use! The owner/lady at the reception was super nice and helpful. A great place to just relax. The beach is quite far but there are taxis.
Lyhört, vilket det varnas för i reservationen.
Very well organized hostel and the owners are very helpful. Beautiful setting too!
It really feels off the beaten track, alone with nature and away from daily stress. Also, the place is really well looked after and has lovely wooden floors (and roof and walls).
It is a bit of a trek/drive to get to, but that is probably inevitable to find peace/isolation in the jungle.
hostel design polite english speaking staff (german owner) location of the hotel is amazing kitchen and nearby area waterfall
Uvita does not have much to offer very far from nearest beach
I did a short trip of nine days around CR. I stayed at hostel cascada verde at the end of my trip and it was the most spectacular surprise in this amazing country. Its owners and her super cute little daughter, the comfort in the bedroom, the location and its proximity to this awesome waterfall, make of this hostel the greatest I been to while traveling in CR. Don't expect luxury but you will find all that's needed to enjoy the place.
It had a big beautiful kitchen for everyone to use, beautiful lounging spots, and was apottlessly clean everywhere
It was a bit of a hike to the beach, though not terrible
the location is perfect. the owner send you after reservation a very nice email with details. the rooms are very cleam and open. the kitchen is well equiped the owner is very helpfull One of the best hostels I ever stayed in!
This place was great!. Do not hesitate to book like I did. I heard howler monkeys on my arrival but did not see them. Saw many colorful birds (Like the Chestnut-Mandible Toucan). The owner are very attentive to your needs. Floors are super clean. Uvita beach is near by. Nice bakery near by as well.
Only wish I could have seen more wildlife but that's my fault for only staying 1 night!
The location is great, Uvita itself doesn't have much to offer, but it's a great place to stay and do daytrips to manuel antonio, whale watching, corcovado. We end up staying 4 nights because we really loved this place. Julie is really soo friendly and helpfull, the kitchen is well equiped as well. The hammocks are really nice as well! And its just a 5 minute walk to a nice waterfall where you can swim, slide and jump off!
Great location within the forrest and an impressive hostel with extremely friendly owners. We saw a lot of animals during our stay, and just loved the place. This place have to be part of your trip in Costa Rica!
The owners are always available for any needs; they helped us a lot, also to change a flat tire. The Hostel is surounded by a wonderful nature and it's like to be in a remote forest although the town is just a few minutes away. Our best accomodation in Costa Rica!!!
