Score from 30 reviews Very good
Nice architecture reminiscent of a roman style and a 1960's feel. Quiet nights Staff is helpful Arroz con Mango restaurant is nearby, delicious and great staff Beautiful wood panels and doors
The hotel was clearly built many years ago and it felt lonely because there were very few guests when we stayed. Pool was a little cold.
If you are looking for great location, budget value, excellent accommodation and awesome staff, this is your place! We had frustrating time getting here to CR but once we got to the hotel everything changed! The warm atmosphere, the friendliness of owner and staff made us forget the ordeal of getting here. The owner personally spent a lot of time explaining to us what to do and what to see, gave us great tips re travelling in CR and so on. Plus the breakfast is great, the restaurant has extremely nice property land you can walk around, clean pool, wonderful restaurants and the best part for people who love animals - the zoo is across the hotel! Thanks for everything!
I visit costa rica every 2 to 3 months at which time I stay at Club Martino. I liked it very much my first stay and more with each stay. I recomend it wholeheartedly. Excellent value.
There is really nothing that I liked about this place. It was remote and secluded, but felt a little unsafe.
THE SETTING AND LAYOUT OF THE COMPLEX WAS UNIQUE AND WE APPRECIATED THIS BREAK FROM A TYPICAL CHAIN HOTEL SETTING.
GREAT breakfast with beautiful view was second only to great value!
Attentive, friendly staff Comfortable room Great location
I couldn't stay longer.
Location, Access and Restaurant food.
Hotel and Rooms were a bit tired and needed a refurbishment
Nice, clean, friendly, easy. Good food good service, berry accommodating. We will return.
We arrived in SJO late. Make sure you take a regular taxi. Should be 15-20 US. We let some joker try to help us save money and ended up costing us double. Just a helpful tip.
Beautiful setting and peaceful surroundings. Also enjoyed sitting on porch and conversing with family.
Walk uphill from lodgins to dining area.
Pool was nice, but water was really cold
I feel like the pictures gave a false impression that this was a nice hotel. It was old, dirty and broken down. I would not recommend it.
Great place to be near the airport. Very nice staff. Rooms are old but overall ok
This is a large and expansive site, with many more amenities than we had time to enjoy, especially the enormous pool area. The dining area is lovely and the breakfast was acceptable but not lavish (1 cereal choice, bacon/eggs on demand, good fruit, juices, toast and coffee). The room was reasonably comfortable and spacious. Bathroom facilities very good. Note that a LOT of walking is involved at this facility.
We ate one night in the restaurant, since the hotel is ~6 km from most of Alajuela's restaurant options. The waiter was the rudest and most impatient person we encountered in our entire trip -- when I ordered my meal he started walking away so fast that I had to call him back TWICE to provide the details that any good waiter would have asked for on his own (like how well I liked my steak cooked). My being female may have had something to do with it. The food was expensive for the quality, and very salty. I was also less than impressed by the rather unprofessional greeting we received at the reception desk by a young man who needed to sit up, smile, and actually welcome a guest.
