The tour in the park was excellent, the town is laid with things easily found we had good restraunts and ths services were freindly and helpful.
The biggest drawback is the lack of bancos atimatico that works better
The line was long and many people had to repeat the sequence of instructions to get anything yet the hotels asked for cash only. Very frustrating and scary if you didn't bring enough dollars or colony s
The grocey store delived groceries a nd took a credit card. We had such a lai back experience.

Cahuita is a laid back town at the edge of Cahuita National Park. It is seeming in wildlife. You don't even have to enter the park to see the wildlife. We saw huge green iguana, common black hawk, families of capuchin, howler and spider monkeys, green basilisk, agoutis, herons, kingfishers - all outside the park. Inside the park we saw sloths, eyelash vipers, frigate birds and raccoons in addition to the other animals we saw outside. Beaches are pristine and nice to swim in. The neighboring town of Puerto Viego was another laid back village by the sea. A tranquil place to visit!

Cahuita was a friendly small community that showed so much love to us! Conventiently located near a beautiful beach, Playa Negro, and the food was fabulous. Lobster picked straight from the tank to our plate--delicious! Chef Doria at Caribbean Soul Taste was a joy and her food was just as amazing. Stopping at her restaurant is a must if you are in Cahuita. Another must is the Cahuita Nacional Park. We saw groups of monkeys and sloths and even a blue morpho butterfly in the park--and it's free! Would return to Cahuita in a heartbeat!

Cahuita has become crowded with tourists hoping to see the wildlife in the National Park, when you have so many tourists in the park it is difficult to view the animals because they just aren’t there, the wildlife will move deeper into the rainforest to escape the gaze of humans!!

The hotel owner Josey was very nice and helpful. When my spouse wasn’t feeling well Josey made her a herbal tea that helped her feel better. Josey made us feel welcome and at home, we recommend staying at her place

Our hosts were outstanding offering suggestions about local attractions, and local foods. The kitchen and dining facilities were very good. When one of our group had a minor medical issue our hosts arranged a home visit by a local doctor, imagine that!.
Downtown is a pleasant 20 walk away.
We would like to upgrade our rating from a 9 to a 10, please.
At Cabinas Caribe Luna we definitley had the best hosts of our entire Costa Rica trip. David and his wife were so kind. On our first day David shared all his knowledge about Cahuita and the surroundings with us. He and his wife even washed our laundry for us as we came from Mexico and hadn't had the opportunity to do so ourselves.
The room was spacious and well-equipped with a fridge and some kitchen supplies. It was very private and we enjoyed our wonderful view of the green garden from our hammok.
Muchas gracias para todo - pura vida!
Beautiful garden with nice swimming pool. A lot of animals in the garden: big iguanas, sloth, agutis, red/mint frogs.
Very helpful and nice host. Room is exactly as described.
Location is in front of playa Negra and few restaurants, about 1 km from Cahuita center where more restaurants can be found. Tip1: look for a sloth on electric cables while going back from Cahuita in the evening - we saw one very close :) Tip2: Take mosquito repelent going to cahuita NP and don't take any snacks in plastic bags.
This is simply the best place to stay in Cahuita. The location is amazing, the lodge is in the middle of the jungle but it's also a short drive to Cahuita and not to far away from Puerto viejo. Rosi is a great host, she is very friendly and very helpful. The lodge is perfect, in terms of cleanliness, design, space. I recommend this place to everyone who's coming to visit the Limón province.
The room was very spacious and clean. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We also liked the location of the hotel, because we could reach the playa negra and the playa blanca/national park quickly. There was water, tea and coffee for free all day long.
The breakfast was delivered to the terrace of our hotel room, which was very pleasant.
It was a good place to stay and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I had to leave earlier for an emergency and they didn't make a fuss or anything. Very well handled and the place was clean and comfortable. Everything in Cahuita is in walking distance and it's far quieter to Puerto Viejo, but there's still enough to do.
We had an amazing stay at Cabinas Cahuita! The owner is super sweet and helpful. The location is excellent. There is a great coffee / food place across the street. The National park and beach and other restaurants are a short walk. It is also close to the bus stop so we were able to spent a day in a nearby town very easily.
Absolutely beautiful. Very tranquil. The hotel was full the entire weekend we were there but you wouldn’t know it because it was very quiet and peaceful. Excellent views of the surrounding forest and ocean. very well maintained. Loved the hosts/owners. They were very warm and friendly. The breakfasts were super rico.
we were stunned
beautiful lush gardens full of flowers and animals (poison dart frogs, birds, iguanas...) and a wonderfully set pool with bungalows arranged around it and in the garden.
perfect location, really close to playa negra, and not far from cahuita national park
safe private car park
delicious breakfast
Excellent location for peace & quiet yet can walk to a few restaurants. Quick drive to Cahuita for swimming & snorkeling & more restaurant options. Be sure to eat at the restaurant at the entrance to the national park. Excellent views & good chance to see some monkeys & sloths.
We only stayed for one night but it was a lovely spot in Cahuita. Twin room was a good size for two friends sharing. Pool was small but we had free reign of it and views of the sea. 5min walk from the nature reserve and to nearby restaraunts. Generous breakfast options.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, clean quiet room with great AC and fan, cabins had a pretty artsy costa rican vibe, beautiful gardens around property, convenient location just few minutes walk from cahuita and playa Negra, recycling receptacles
We loved it so much that we stayed three instead of one night. Andrea and Samuel are lovely and we had the best breakfast of our whole trip. Beach is nearby.
We even saw several Tucans and a Sloth Family at the hotel. Also very clean. Loved it!
The rest of the hostel is nice the garden is pretty with nice places to chill and towels are provided which is a bonus.
The town of cahuita is nice and relaxed, lots of places to eat, good local food (way nicer than Puerto viejo, in my opinion)
it’s a very cute family run hotel, that provides a great atmosphere and is super close to the national park. We really enjoyed the common kitchen and area, which provided a relaxed atmosphere and helped to get to know other travelers.
Roberta and her husband are awesome hosts. They serve up delicious and large breakfasts every day and also coffee is available all day.
This hotel is so clean and comfortable, immaculate really, our favorite in all of Costa Rica!!
By far the best hotel we stayed in in Costa Rica, great value for money. The host Daniele went absolutely above and beyond for us during our stay, helping with recommendations and organising transport and food for us.
The hosts are very friendly and informative of things to do in Cahuita. Room was big and very clean. Had AC and a TV. We only stayed 1 night as we were just passing through but highly recommended this place.
