Very hospitable, helpful staff. Clean lodging.

Quote on price for solo traveler seemed high at $27

We stay one night in Hotel Cortez Azul. As the fridge did look terrible and the door did not lock, the spanish owner promised us his second hotel Villa Pacande. Cortez Azul was also very noisy as of 5 am. The owner promised us free transportation from Villa Pacande to Alajuela whenever we want. As we came to his bar around 9.30 pm, he told us to wait for an hour because he wants to have dinner first. Of cours we took a taxi. On our last day, we had to take a taxi again around 6 am because it was too early for them. Further our room and bathroom was dirty with spiders webs, dust etc and it smells bad. You do not want to put your food in this fridge as well because this was dirty as well. It seems that he overtook this hotel 2 years ago and for sure you will find something better and cleaner for your money. They were having exuses for all our complaints.

My stay at Hotel Cortez Azul was fabulous! It booked it from the airport and within an hour I was there in the front desk in front of the most personable managers I've ever met: Ramon! He was kind and hilarious! We enjoyed cleanly and secure room quarters and the hotel was equipped with a computer if you did not have your own to use. A clean and jovial yellow lab was present in the hotel and was always friendly. In the morning, Ramon made breakfast for us. A great end to our honeymoon!

There is nothing that I did not like about Hotel Cortez Azul.

good location

very loud room. don't know if they're all like mine... Owner was supposed to have called to arrange a cab at 430 am- no show. Also had to figure out how to let myself out with a buzzer that was hidden under desk. And no top sheet on bed. Unimpressed for the price.

Great views on Volcan Arenal and the lake. Rouns the corner hikes and Sky adventures. Make a visit to Jardin Escondido and have a pizza at Pizza John!

I stayed 3 nights at Hotel Cortez Azul with my boyfriend and had an excellent time. The room under the stairs was a bit noisy but we had our own bathroom and T.V. The bed was comfortable and the room stayed pretty cool for July conditions. I enjoyed the back patio during the morning with the hotel dog Duna, walk abouts around town were tons of fun and nights on the balcony were good for a panaramic view. I would definitly stay here again

There is nothing to complain about. If you are picky I think the sound barrier would be your issue. This hotel starts early to make sure you have breakfast so you will hear the morning traffic for sure.

We loved our stay at Cortez Azul! My husband and I stayed there the first and last days of our honeymoon, and we had a great time. Luis and Johanna were so friendly and helpful, and I loved the outdoor kitchen area, stocked with all the equipment you need to cook or bake anything you want.

the people that work there are very very friendly and helpful. it was close to the airport. we had out own bathroom.

i thought that the discription that breakfast was included was misleading because desaynos in my mind was more than just coffee and bread or cereal. I thought it would be a gallo pinto style with eggs rather than a contenital euro style breakfast

C'est bien pour uniquement passer la nuit avant d'aller à l’aéroport, car pas cher et pas très loin (comptez 6 $ en taxi)

Hotel et acceuil sympa.

Buon rapporto qualità/prezzo. Posizione vicina all'aeroporto internazionale di San Josè e quindi favorevole all'arrivo e partenza. Hotel centrale e con servizi quali colazione inclusa, accesso internet organizzazione di tours.
