Hotel Green  

Low price, clean

Place needs some basic maintenance and sprucing up. Tropical garden is a far cry from the website photo. Barking dogs in neighborhood disrupted sleep.

- The place is not a hotel and there is nothing green about it, even though the hotel spells out its visions that way. It is much smaller than it shows in pictures - the reception area smells bad; my room smells like stale ammonia; and the bathroom smells like sewage - the toilet leaks and the floor in the bathroom was wet and disgusting - hot water ran out after two minutes into my shower - stains on sheets and comforters - the neighborhood is scary and locks on door and windows. there is a gate at the "hotel" - I paid over $100 for this

The host, Philipe, was very friendly and helpful. He was concerned that no one disturbed us with noise, etc. No one did. The air conditioning was excellent and the kitchenette was well provided with microwave, toaster-oven, coffee maker, 2 burner hot plate and small refriderator. The shower was strong with plenty of hot water - not an electric shower head. One bed was queen sized, the other full sized - very comfortable. Although we did not use it, the TV was equiped with sattelite reception. The pool was extremely clean and well heated, very pleasant. Whiskey, a large dog, was very affectionate. Taxi service from the hotel to Jacó center cost about 1.000 colones or $2 USD. All but one of the taxis we rode in were air conditioned and clean. We live in Costa Rica full time and plan to return to Hotel Green in the rainy season.

A foul odor arose from the shower drain at times. We kept the bathroom door closed for this reason. The outside bar was closed and appeared abandoned. There was a menu in the room, but apparently no actual food service to go with it.

The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean, bright and spacious and the bathroom was nice. Everywhere was very clean. The gardens and pool were nice. The hotel is situated on a quiet country street just out of Jaco, which we liked, as Jaco town is not a restful place!! We'd recommend this hotel as it was an excellent standard for the price.

Only a small point, which didn't really bother us, but there was no bar or obvious breakfast area. There was a breakfast menu in the room, but there didn't seem to be anywhere to go to have it. This wasn't a problem for us as we went to a nearby cafe.

The rooms were fantastic. Pool was relaxing.

The location was far from the center of town, which isn't too bad as Jaco is gross. No bicycles to use, so taxi or long walk in the heat. Owner had friends over most of the time partying, so the care of the paying visitors was overlooked. The price was quite high as well.

Convienance.

Room arrangement could have been better. a lot of wasted space. Excellent overall.

It was very nice and the family that lives there is very friendly.

The only thing I did not like about the Hotel is that Breakfast is not include and when you order the breakfast it never comes you have to go get it yourself. My advice is for you to get up early and go get your own breakfast.

El personal con buena disposición de servicio y las habitaciones aunque muy básicas, son amplias y limpias

El hotel se presta solamente para dormir pero no para utilizar sus instalaciones porque son muy básicas y algo descuidadas en especial el área verde de la piscina

Esta a 15 minutos de la playa y de servicios si se va a pie.

Hôtel un peu défraîchi, et ne laissant pas une bonne impression de propreté.

Le confort de l'hôtel, la propreté, la piscine et l'environnement. La situation géographique bien placée par rapport à la ville de Jaco.

Le fait de ne pas avoir le breakfast à l'hôtel, nous a obligé à aller en ville. Nous n'avions pas de nécessaire pour pallier à ce manque. sur 2 nuits passées, la 1ère a été très calme et la 2ème a été perturbée et bruyante par une bande de fêtards autour de la piscine jusqu'à 2 ou 3 h du matin.

Las habitaciones son relajantes. El lugar es muy tranquilo, y aunque haya gente en la piscina y el cuarto esté al frente de ésta, en el cuarto no se oyen. La piscina es pequeña pero limpia. Tratan de modificar el hotal en un hotal ecológico completo. Mi habitación tenía nevera que es muy útil. Los departamentos están muy bien equipados como para alojarse varios días.

La sala de estar en la noche no tiene muy buena iluminación, y no hay restaurante en el mismo lugar. La recepción tiene menú pero son servicios express que utilizan. Dijieron que era temporal.

Limpio, decoración bonita, seguro.

Decia que tenia cocina y coffeemaker y no era cierto.

Vriendelijke ontvangst. Goed werkende wifi. Leuke hond.

Beetje vergane glorie. Alles is schoon, maar verschoten van kleur.

La propuesta ecologica y las habitaciones muy lindas y acogedoras.

No limpiaron la habiatacion el segundo dia de estancia.

sejour tres decevant, le responsable organise ses fetes avec ses amis du debut d apres midi jusqu a 3h du matin, donc impossibilite de profiter de la piscine et de dormir!! car trop de bruits!! pas petits dejeuners a l hotel

Nice and peaceful location, although a little far away from the town.

The room was not properly cleaned after previous guests and it still wasn't cleaned the next day. Staff was very helpful and helped to call after our lost luggage. However, there must have been change of ownership as the hotel was not as eco-frindly as it was said to be. The garden was not taken care of and the owner had his friends over using the pool and parking space daily. Don't believe the photos at booking.com, sunchairs and the bar and nice lounge area are not available. We had payed half of our stay in advance through paypal as agreed in the booking.com website, but the owner didin't have a clue about that. Also there was no breakfast available, even though there were breakfast menus in the room. It's a 20 minute walk to the nearest place that serves breakfast. I certainly think you can find more value for your money somewhere else in Jacó.
