Beautiful garden, Nice river to swim. Sloths en tucans in front of hotel.
Breakfast is very poor. There's NO restaurant. They charge you extra for children.
The environment was amazing, you can see very different animals around you and the instalations were quite good for that area.
Probably, the worst was find the place, the indications were really poor to find it easyly
The garden is beautiful and the owners are very nice people.
It was a tropical setting out of a forties' mystery novel - foreign visitors from many countries, speaking different languages but still maintaining convivial atmosphere on the riverside veranda. Costa Rican flora and fauna absolutely amazing and you are spot in it - each lodging has full length windows all round, with screened louvers. Still, pay the extra cost for the ones with air con - you might need a bit of relief from the tropical heat of Sarapiqui. Henk and Carolien and their staff are wonderful - do not miss at least one Heliconia Island tour or a boat tour with Carolien, the intuitive naturalist; Henk wins the "above and beyond" award for helping me get my husband to a doctor in spite of being ill himself (thanks again, Henk!). The beauty of the place is indescribable, the animals are abundant, but be prepared for the heat.
The garden in witch is located the hotel in wonderful. It is very well maintained and the staff working for the owners is very nice (the guy from Belgium)...
... but it was the first place during our one month stay in Costa Rica where we had to pay additional fee for our 11 month daughter - even if we booked triple room and it was not a problem to share a bad with her and there was additional bad for the 3y old boy. We usually slept in double rooms with two beds and there was no problem. It is not the case of money but the attitude of the owners. It seems to be just the Dutch hospitality! And towels needs to be changed for new ones...
Amazing garden. Tropical environment. Very private setting
Internet worked marginally.
Caroline and Henk were most knowledgeable about other "gems" in the area. They were wonderful hosts.
