Igloo Beach Lodge, hotel in Manuel Antonio

Located in Manuel Antonio, a 5-minute walk from Espadilla Beach, Igloo Beach Lodge provides accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a restaurant.

Detailed description: The design of igloos is unique and cool. The pool area is so nice and offers a lot of interaction with other travellers. The Casa Planta is also a good option for refreshing drinks by the pool. Parking was free with security cameras and the welcoming drink was a nice touch. The hotel team is responsive and always around. The room is so clean and has nice toiletries and essential oil diffuser (that was really surprising) The location of the hotel is maybe 5 months walk from the beach which is great. There are a couple of beach restaurants to eat from but if you want to explore more, please note the area is filled with uphills and expect to walk for 15 min min (4min drive) to nearest good rated restaurant. Overall since the area and national park were underwhelming I can say the hotel was the highlight of my trip. The hotel’s back yard is a jungle (we explored the view the last day). Seeing monkeys from the hotel is not impossible. We saw one black from a distance and we saw the most beautiful birds (yellow and red bellied) that honestly I didn’t see elsewhere in the area. Also the last day an amazingly medium sized bird came in exploring the pool area and we were all stunned with how beautiful this bird was. I would definitely stay there again.

I forgot to mention before about the assistance I got from the customer service representative ELISABETH. She helped me since the very begin of my reservation to the very end with great knowledge, efficiency and patience. I am I little challenged with the internet but she was right there for me, did not matter the time. We are all lucky for having her.

    Good beaches.

Good beaches. Espadilla, even when crowded, is large enough that you can walk a little and get a fairly empty beach if you prefer. A car is a must-have if you plan to explore the town, but you're not missing much if you stay in a resort with beach and jungle access the whole time. The most expensive restaurants are good, all others are nothing special and just okay to not be hungry. You'll get better treatment as a foreigner because people expect tips, so definitely take advantage of that if you are one.

Mid-February is very hot and humid for this area - 90 degrees Fahrenheit everyday. We really enjoyed visiting the park and seeing rainforest wildlife, swimming at the beaches (watch out for strong rip tides!), and familiarizing ourselves with an area we had never been to before. Be ready to pay tourist prices (you are in a high tourism area - and it is so for a good reason), but if you can get an apartment with a kitchen, visiting the Quepos farmer's market and being able to make some of your own meals make this area more affordable. Glen's on the beach has the best chairs and his whole family is so kind and helpful. Going into the park for the first time with a guide is highly recommended, but so is going a second time on your own at your own pace. Get there first thing in the morning, because it heats up and gets busy after 9 AM. Eat at the Falafel Bar, like everyone says, because it is delicious (the smoothies are really refreshing). The public busy is easy to navigate, so use it and explore! Favorite activity in the area, other than the national park, was by far the Night Damas Mangrove Tour with Iguana Tours. Explore and have fun!

The room and bathroom was large and balcony overlooked the jungle, monkeys and birds came to the balcony everyday The area is so lush with beautiful flowers and trees. The beach area and ocean was really nice. The way down to the beach was easily accessible, the path down has ropes on both sides to help. Swimming pool was lovely surrounded by tables and umbrellas could have meals there if chosen. Excursions easily booked by agents and very informative.

This is the best place I stayed in Costa Rica. I would recommend the triple room, even if you are traveling alone, if you can afford it, as it is a large 2 bedroom apartment with full kitchen which has a large private balcony from which you can even see a sliver of the Pacific. Aircon first rate, which for me is pretty essential for sleep when it is 30+ degrees. Super comfy! Hosts friendly and helpful. About 2 1/2 kilometers to the Manuel Antonio public beach. Lots and lots of great restaurants/cafes/bars within walking distance.

The staff at this hotel were wonderful, lots of youth on volunteer exchanges that were very helpful. The setting of this hotel is lovely, the pool is nice and the breakfast is very good. The rooms are clean and the bed was comfortable. We also tried the restaurant for dinner and the food was fresh and tasty. A beautiful hotel with a swimming pool and a large garden. The service is very nice. Ideal to leave the car Oh the parking and walk to the Manuel Antonio Park in the morning and to the beaches in the evening. The hotel also has its own 40-minute jungle trail. There is an excellent restaurant at the hotel. The welcome wine is a very nice gesture. We saw many monkeys, iguanas, birds and even frogs in the hotel garden. Highly recommended!

Cross the main road, walk 2 min and you'll find a lovely beach with rental chairs and a bar/restaurant. Busstop in front of the hotel makes Quepos easily accessible.
