Score from 187 reviews Excellent
Friendly staff, pool was very nice, three hot springs all at different temperatures. Lots of birds to see. Easy to get to Arenal volcano. Wine and beer available in lobby and in the restaurant.
Rooms were dated, restaurant has only one meal choice for dinner (casada). Meatless breakfast included.
several hot spring pools included good breakfast beautiful sorrounding and gardens
Very nice staff. Asked for a repair job (window handle was broken) and it was done efficiently. Beautiful property. Great healthy breakfast buffet.
The windows did not have screens so we could not leave them open without bugs or insects coming in. Screens are necessary in such a great facility!
Very friendly staff and very good location. The hot springs are super hot!!!
Rooster very early morning. I am sure some people love that.... not this family!
They were friendly and very helpful. When we had an issue with the fan, they immediately took care of it.
The hot spring pools
The mattress was too firm for my taste
The hot springs on the hotel grounds were a welcome value after the LONG drive from San Jose. The grounds were beautiful!
The room was very pleasant but strongly smelled musty.
We loved the staff and the property. We enjoyed the hot springs, the courteous and helpful staff, the lovely breakfasts. It was a great experience - and would recommend the hotel to any of my friends.
Excellent location to see the Arenal Volcano. At one time the cabins were very nice but many years of neglect/lack of maintenance is evident. Thermal springs were nice but had very limited hours availability.
No Kokoro sign on the highway. We knew roughly where it should be based on other well signed hotels/resorts. Had to ask twice and drove by it twice before glimpsing a fragment of the old broken sign among the weeds. No hot water.
Staff was extremely accommodating. They ordered dinner to be delivered from local restaurant. They kept hot spring open to allow us to use when nomarlly closed to accommodate our schedule. Rooms clean, pool and hot spring well maintained. Grounds made you feel like you were living in rain forest. Great experience.
Our stay was too short. If we had known how nice it was we would have booked extra days there
the hotel was very comfortable, lovely, and we enjoyed it.The employees could not have been nicer.
There was no hotel sign on the highway and our gps told us to go into the next property. The cold pool was closed and they were nice enough to fill the hot pool for us. The tv worked, but had no stations. After it rained the sidewalks were dangerously slippery and need to be pressure washed.
Good service friendly people and the thermal water
I loved the lush gradens and the hot springs onsite. The hotel staff was very helpful and very pleasant. Our family suiote was just lovely. We could see the volcano Arenal from our Balconey. Lovely!
The hotel was a long way out of town. We needed a taxi to get into town.
everything would be great if there was not the mold - the worst thing is that the mold was on our bed sheets and "comforters" as well!
the mold - allergic people stay away or you will suffer a lot...
We got the family cabin with 2 queen beds and a twin. Room was nice size, convenient and clean. Breakfast food and setting was great. Staff was very good explaining how to get to sites and good places to eat. Birds and gardens were beautiful and relaxing.
The twin bed was only a box spring and a bed frame and therefore very uncomfortable. Only one of the hot springs was in use. It wasn't crowded, but we didn't have the ability to have varied temperature pools.
Diego is a great staff member who was very attentive and kind.
Small separate houses fully surounded by nature, you feel like in rainforest. Very friendly, knowledgeable snd helpfull staff. Good breakfast
As hotel is in very high humidity area, expest some "tropical smell", but that was not an issue for me.
The location was amazing. Pretty close to natural park
Too many frogs
beautiful gardens, convenient location, friendly and helpful staff, excellent food.
Very close to the Volcano. Very quiet in general.
They didn't clean my room every day or replenished soap, shampoo or towels.
Landscaping was nice.
Got to the hotel I had an upgrade. They tried giving me a lessor room which trigger real issues. Staff was argumentative, didn't honor what was advertised on website, didn't honor rooms amenities, didn't honor prices, etc. Mineral pools empty and/or dirty. We cancelled our reservation on the spot after this experience and went down the road and found "real" Tico hospitality for less money.
The staff was fantastic - helpful and patient (I wish I remembered his name….Michael? Daniel? whoops!). The hotel is beautiful, and a fantastic deal. The room was so big! We were 2 people and had a room with 2 queens and 1 twin. And the room is decorated very nice with a rustic, in the woods feel - perfect for Arenal. The bathroom was very large. The grounds are gorgeous, with lots of little areas to relax and explore. The springs were nice - I was surprised to find them only open 4pm -10 pm, thinking they would be open in the morning. I think you really need to visit the free river springs for the full springs experience. But its not as I thought. Beautiful birds at the hotel. And the breakfast was AMAZING! Great selection and above and beyond the typical breakfast in Costa Rica.
The location and the grounds are amazing. The staff is friendly and always willing to help, give you advise, and the best solution for your trip concerns.
The room has a little smell like humidity, but this is because we were staying in a wood cabin. The smell goes away as soon as you turn on the AC.
We liked the helpful and friendly staff. It's a family owned business. They recommended wonderful adventures;Sky trek zip lining and Venado Cave. Breakfasts consisted of eggs, rice and beans, fresh fruit, juice, and coffee. Every day breakfast was made especially for us. Not sure if it was due to low season. Close to Arenal Volcano and Tabacon hot springs.
No wifi in the rooms only in the reception.
The location was nice, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. The pool looked nice though I didn't use it.
The room I was assigned to, A1, had a mold smell as soon as I walked into the room. One could see the mold in the bathroom ceiling and walls. If I had been staying for more than one night, I would have insisted on another room or checked out.
