Nice pool, clean rooms. Some staff helpful, one pointed out a sloth to us. Delicious food, especially the nighly special entres. Lovely gardens and beautiful property with wildlife from the lodge.
Expensive food and drinks. While the lodge is close to town if you need a water taxi its expensive to town, $3USD per person each way. Seculded lodge, only acessible by boat. Some staff very unfriendly.
I loved everything about this lodge. We stayed for 5 nights. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable. The free breakfast is outstanding. The front desk staff organized 3 different tours for us: walking tour, birdwatching, and canoe tour. My favorite was the canoe tour; it was just my husband and me and Israel, the tour guide from Tortuguero Adventures. Antonio and Carlos even surprised my husband with a birthday cake for his 60th birthday.
Gardens natural ventilation of the room location
restaurant inexpensive but nothing special
Value for money. Staff friendly. Nice grounds.
Food...my husband hated it. I thought it was OK. The fruit for breakfast had flies over it where the cloths kept flapping up. It perhaps ought to be kept elsewhere. The 'shop' was a stand that sold highly expensive snacks...would have been so easy to have sold a few more things at better prices...$6 for a toothbrush, $2 for a mini pack of pringles!!
Fabulous buffet in the restaurant, gorgeous view of Tortuguero Canals, friendly staff. Enjoyed the swimming pool very much
The Hotel doesn't offer a shuttle to the town of Tortuguero, which makes you pay many water taxis. The bed is extremely uncomfortable.
Tourist-oriented area. La baula may be a nice place but it ´s not worth going there. Wrong side of the river, you will have to pay taxi-boat for everything.
Quite cheap Swimming pool
Reception closed very early so when we came back from dinner in Tortugero at about 8pm it was closed. We needed a taxi boat to get to the town of Tortugero which was $3.00 each. Rooms were quite old.
Beautiful hotel, excellent location, right on the river (you'll need a taxi-boat to get to the Tortuguero, it coast $3 per person, and takes 2 min). very good breakfast with nice view. We would go again.
The towels smelled like oil. no Wi-Fi in the rooms.
Very nice staff
Bit smelly rooms
The staff were all really good and attentive and made our stay really happy
The only problem was on the first night you had a large party in and the evening meal was not the standard that we experienced on the second evening
-Swimming pool -Wi-fi -Great staff -Good location
Beautiful, secluded location with water shuttle for guests. Friendly, helpful staff Variety of tours available
Rooms are rustic, but enough for the jungle Breakfast is ok, could be better
Very friendly welcome, most helpfull and enthousiast staff Coffee and water free available Good swimming pool Towels for swimming pool
Food was not really what we expected. Very very dark when lights are out
The staff where amazing. When we arrived there where monkeys playing the tree's. It is located on the other aide of the river and need to take a water taxi to and from the hotel. But it is in a beautiful location. They have a restaurant and bar on sit as well as a pool.
As a young couple travlering for a long period of time this ended up being a little bit too expensive for us as taxes where not included in the price we booked for.
We were never told that you could book tours through Labaula. We booked our turtle tour with another group and we were late getting there because we had to wait on a water taxi. As we were waitng we saw several people from the Labaula get on a boat and leave to go on the tour. We were disappointed that we couldn't go with the other people and had to sit around for another boat going to the exact same place.
The staff is more than perfect. They are wonderfull. Nice pool. Fabulous buffet!
The lodge is a little remote, but that' s a choice. We liked it.
Staff is really friendly and helpful to organize activities around Tortuguero. The place is also nice with the view on the laguna and the garden with the animals.
A lick of paint on the doors of the nice bedrooms would be a good idea.
Lovely staff, beautiful place
Food served in the restaurant not very tasty...
Nice area, cool swimming pool
Poor service, no hot water, old facilities and overpriced tours. You take the same tour for less on the main land
They charge me differente price from what I booked.
The staff was friendly although they did not know much about rentals or other questions I asked. The restaurant food was okay. The pool was awesome.
I didn't like the location. You only have access to the hotel itself literally and have to pay $3/pp eachway to get to the main town by water taxi. It depends what you want though. The main town is not as nice as the area where the hotel is and you have much more of a chance of seeing animals near the hotel. I just didn't like being stuck at a hotel. You can walk around the premises and that's it. Our hotel room had a broken drawer and no accessible outlets.
you need to take a $3 boat ride every time you want to go to the village
We loved how personable everyone was - especially Luis and Caleb. Luis helped us get hooked up with a shuttle for our return trip and also provided us with any information we asked for.
the bartender - I think his nickname was "flaco" was very rude to my partner who was merely asking for a drink.
The rooms were clean. Swimming pool was nice. The breakfast was really good, especially bananas in sweet sauce with pancakes. Very quite place.
To get there you need to take a water taxi (3 USD per person).
